  1. We've done it. The only real problem was the one time we had a hurricane that delayed us from returning for 2 days. We've had much hotter weather in August in Europe.
  2. I love when other posters say I am correct. 😊 Glad it worked out for you despite it having to be by a roundabout way.
  3. I could be wrong, but I don't think NY state allows them to sell that insurance to New York residents. The State Insurance Commissioner has basically ruled that insurance must cover a risk, and I just feel like cancelling is not really a risk.
  4. Not in NY state that does not allow any cancel for any reason policies as they have deemed these not really insurance.
  5. And no one else has posted something like your CL must be and named a cruise line. No one else seems to ever have posted being forced by a cruise line to use a TA.
  6. That is something that has been odd about this whole topic.
  7. Just got the watch the muster drill video reminder for the first time today, in fact 2 of them sent 1minute apart. Flight if tomorrow, cruise is 2 days after that.
  8. Eventually, but look how long it took Venice to close their port.
  9. I did not know NCL has anything to do with the seat assignments. I in fact just called NCL a little while ago because I had some questions. And after asking and having them answered, I noted that every time they sent me the airline stuff again, I worried that things had changed and we were going to have to get seats assigned again and let them know about vegetarian meals. She then looked at our flights and said nothing had changed and wondered to why they sent them several times.
  10. No, every time I check the times against the original, they are the same.
  11. 100%, so the person whose cruise payment is due has no responsibility at all to keep track of when payment is due?
  12. This has to be about the 4th time they sent it after the original was sent. Every time I get one of these e-mails, I have a sinking feeling in my stomach that the flights have changed. Will we have to get new seats this late? Will we have to let the new flight know we want vegetarian meals? And every time is exactly the same. BTW, our flight out to the cruise is tomorrow.
  13. We have had 3 Princess cruises, Baltic for our 30th anniversary (IMHO our very best cruise), Alaska through the inner passage, and British Isles on a wonderful small ship that they no longer have. They were all wonderful, but they were all pre-medallion. And I want nothing to do with the medallion.
  14. This seems to happen too often. A person comes in with their very first post, and it is a complaint and a plea for sympathy because what happened was everyone's fault but theirs. And then when no one takes up their cause, there is not a post #2 from the new poster.
  15. Yes, personal responsibility. We are leaving on a cruise later this week that was originally booked in 2021. No way were we going to forget when final payment was due.
  16. Bermuda is very nice, but I hope you realize there is a much larger world out there than just Bermuda!
  17. Their transfer if only good from the airport. For instance, we are flying in a day early to London landing at Heathrow. It does not affect us since we booked a hotel by the airport terminal we are flying in to, but if we had booked a hotel in London itself, we would have had to get back to the airport for our transfer. They would not have allowed us to take a transfer from London itself.
  18. Actually, they do not make a commission until you actually sail, not at the time of the booking. And as others have said, you are responsible for keeping track of your due dates. It would be nice if the TA sent a reminder, but it is not something they have to do. Do you get a reminder for all your other bills? And I would not think that this would be something that errors and omission insurance would cover for a TA. It is not an error, and although I guess you could argue that it is an omission, I would not think that it would be by definition one that would be covered.
  19. I never heard of that story by Kurt Vonnegut, but I found it in its entirety online. Full text of "Harrison Bergeron (& Activity)" (archive.org)
  20. You also get the $25 deviation credit with a 1 day deviation, at least we did.
  21. Yes, France would trigger the requirement, unless of course they postpone it once again.
  22. We are flying on Air Canada through the NCL BOGO program, actually from Newark to Montreal and then on to our destination Heathrow in London. (Flying back direct on Iceland Air.)
  23. Princess was my favorite cruise line, but since the medallion and all I have read about it, Princess is not a cruise line I would consider using again.
