  1. There seems to be no problem with the NCL Star, but the NCL Prima has skipped the port every single cruise this year so far.
  2. Yes, we have a code share flight. UA operated by Canada Air. And it is scheduled to land in terminal 2.
  3. Here's a question that was asked on my last Carnival cruise that no one would have been able to cheat. The assistant cruise director running that particular game asked how old he was. (Actually one other participant and I were the closest to getting it right. We were only one year off.) I told a different assistant cruise director who was on his first cruise about that question, and he said "that is not on the question sheet". 🤣 The assistant cruise director who asked that question was once on duty during a port disembarkation. And as I passed him, I said to my DW, I bet I can guess how old he is. That got a big 🤣 out of him.
  4. Well, if DW is a teacher, you are left with the Summer as the time to cruise. Though actually we cruised in Europe more often than the Caribbean. And as a matter of fact. both Italy and Turkey are way up there for heat and humidity during August.
  5. ✌, however I would not count on it. 😒
  6. I hope you are right as we are on the August 6th sailing with this port near the end and do have what we hope will be a fine private excursion booked.
  7. When we sailed the Western Mediterranean on the Epic it actually embarked from 3 different ports, the two you mentioned and one in France, IIRC Marseilles.
  8. Again makes not sense, if it is the law in any country why would it be enforced on some cruise lines and not others?
  9. I think someone is just reaching for excuses to make for NCL.
  10. I called NCL a few days ago, and inquired about were they really going to allow passengers off in that port. The rep said she did not know as she just had the itinerary. And then she did the right thing and said she would get me to someone who would have that information. She ended up transferring me to the excursion sellers. They said they were still selling excursions for July 4th. And she either couldn't or wouldn't tell me if they had sold excursions for dates prior to that.
  11. And that is what has been happening on every cruise so far in May and June on the Prima? You really believe that?
  12. Could be, but does that make sense? Both Spain and Italy are EU countries, why should the application of the VAT tax be different?
  13. Yes, it would be informative for those who have been in the cabins with the excessive noise problem to post the cabin number.
  14. Our favorite overnight was in St. Petersburg. Obviously, no one is going to get the opportunity to do that again any time soon, or possibly ever.
  15. And it would be impossible for management to inform them? They have been skipping the port since May. It is not something new.
  16. And when I called a few days ago and asked if they were actually going to Isafjordur, I was put on hold and connected to excursions. They said they were still selling the excursions. Try to justify that if they either have no intention of using tenders or are unable to use the dock. 😒
  17. But if you go to this forum: Northern Europe & Baltic Sea - Cruise Critic Community And click on the thread Is Isjsfordur ALWAYS CANCELLED and then go to post #46, you will see the dock being used!
  18. Yes, and there was an active cruise group until the trolls took over. 😒
  19. I felt sorry in this whole process for hard working TAs. They still had lots and lots of work to do with cancellations and rebookings. At the same time no money was coming in from commissions as no ships were sailing. And the deposits were not in their accounts earning interest. And even after bookings were starting to be made, there is a time lag until the TA would receive his or her commission. I know we finally booked another cruise again in 2021, but it will not sail until later this summer, so he has not been paid yet. And he obviously made no money on the cruise we had booked with him for the summer of 2020 that never sailed.
  20. Though at some point, if you degrade the experience, demand and with it revenue might go down instead of up.
  21. Sounds good in theory, but not everyone books at once, but as cruises were all being cancelled due to the pandemic, it all hit at once. It is easy to see why they were overwhelmed.
  22. It's called greed. Jam in more cabins, but add not extra space other than the new cabins.
  23. Ah, but if the weather is cold, you can get your walks on the outside deck without a crowd. 😉
  24. To be precise, he chose to both cancel and involve his credit card company in the cancellation.
