  1. Good morning from a sunny day here. It's in the 40's but the weather experts say we will have 60's again next week! I like my fanny packs, thanks for sharing the port pictures, and @dfishthanks for the recipes, they look good today! My sympathies to your family @grapau27. Sarah, you and Pauline are in my prayers. Have a great day, hugs to those that need them, and cheers to those cruising or celebrating! Karen
  2. Happy Friday, it's in the 40's and going to rain all day today. I'll celebrate Women's Day, but not "be nasty" day. Not sure about the soup, but I'd take the chocolate peanut clusters. @marshhawksorry to hear about the cost of your medications, such a sad situation. @kazube careful outside today! We're still having a very mild winter here. The robins are back and the bulbs are coming up. Thanks to all who share and care here...I love all of the port photos! We have a quiet weekend, DH is still doing well after his hip replacement. He may have overdone it the other day, but is taking it easier now...he didn't listen to me! LOL! Have a good day and a wonderful weekend, Karen
  3. Happy Monday, it's in the 50's here, but cloudy today. @ger_77wow, that's a lot of snow to deal with, be safe! @JazzyVThanks for including DH on the care list! He's continuing to do well! @rafinmdThinking about you and your Dr. visit today. @ottahand7Blessings on your procedure today. The pictures today look amazing, sounds like a great place to visit! I'll take the sweet potato fries, but no air-fryer here. We have a Pulaski High School here. Milwaukee was a place for many Polish immigrants back in the day. Have a good day, karen
  4. Happy Sunday, another very nice day here! I'm looking at robins and bulbs coming up. @ger_77sorry to hear about your bad weather...be safe, and thanks for helping your neighbors. I'm seeing lots of snow in the California mountains also. I'm happy to hear that Baby Murphy is home from the hospital, good for her and her family! @0106Bon voyage, we've been home for 2 weeks, and I wish I could go back! I'm being a "caregiver" for DH. He had a hip replacement on Thursday. I'm surprised how easy this recovery has been, not much pain, was up 1 hour after surgery and dc'd from the hospital 24 hours post surgery. He's walking around just fine with a walker and hardly taking any pain meds! Praying that it stays this easy! Thanks for all of the pictures today, have a good rest of your day! Karen
  5. Happy Saturday! It's in the 50's and sunny here, another nice day! Just went for a little walk outside to enjoy the sun🌞 I rescued a kitten many years ago. She lived a happy life here! Blessings to all who need them and cheers to all cruising or celebrating. Karen
  6. Good afternoon from a sunny, but cold day here. We hit a record 73F yesterday. It was 18 when I got up this morning with a dusting of snow on the grass. Around 8 pm there were bad thunderstorms going through, but I read there was very bad weather closer to Chicago. Today is also National Tooth Fairy Day. Several of my Reading Buddies had loose or missing teeth this morning! Thanks for all of the photos, sharing and caring here. Good thoughts and prayers for all who need them and cheers for the rest! I'm off to our 6th grade sewing class now. It's our 1st session, next week we start making a pillowcase. Have a good rest of the day, K
  7. Good morning, another sunny, nice day here. The temps are supposed to drop with storm potential later today. Praying for no more tornadoes. I'd take the Guinness in the drink today, not sure about the meal. Kahlua is ok. Polar bears are majestic. Snow Lilly, the polar bear at our zoo died a few years ago, she was always fun to watch. @cat shepardprayers for your sister today... More prayers for all that need them, and cheers to those celebrating! Have a great day, K
  8. @marshhawkGreat news! That is a long time to be without internet! We were out 48 hours in January, and I thought that was bad!
  9. Hello from another nice day in Wisconsin! Haven't been to the port, not sure about the meal, but the drink today sounds "interesting!" LOL @StLouisCruisersPrayers and hugs for your granddaughter as she testifies... @summer slopeBlessings on your procedure today. @JazzyVHoping you're feeling a little better each day. Thanks for all of the pictures today, I get to travel through the lovely people here. For the Garden club..we have lots of perennials sprouting, and I saw a robin today. I know some don't fly south, but I haven't seen any around here lately. I think the early "popping" of the flowers may be too early, we can have lots of snow in March here! Have a good rest of your day, I'm heading to the sewing machine to put binding on 2 more quilts. A quilt shop relocated to an area close to us, and they are having a big sale. I found some fabric to work on some more quilts for church. This week we start our sewing class with the 6th graders at our church school, I'm excited! karen
  10. Good morning, another nice day in Wisconsin. Thanks to all who contribute here. @JazzyVso happy to hear your procedure is today, prayers it all goes well and you that you get relief after. @StLouisCruisersthanks for the update on @marshhawkand her DH. I'm hearing there is a big AT&T outage this morning and now other carriers are also having issues. The meal today looks good! I could also try a margarita, the plan is for Mexican food from a Food Truck in our neighborhood tonight! Have a good day, K
  11. Good morning from a mild, sunny day in Wisconsin. Forecast is for a high of 52F today, I'll take it! Not sure about the meal today. We've been to Lahaina, it was beautiful there, along with the other islands we visited. So sad now. On our cruise, we stopped in Grand Turk and saw the display about John Glenn and his orbit of the earth on Friendship 7. @grapau27thanks for the info about Hoodie Hoo day, and warm thoughts to you as you remember Paulines's dad. Yay for everyone on cruises now and good thoughts and prayers for all who need them. @StLouisCruisersI thought of you when I saw the displays in 2 of the elevator lobbies on the Nieuw Statendam. They're needle point, not cross stitch, but wow, they were very interesting! Made me think of your Christmas Stocking! I used to do counted x stitch when my eyes were younger! We had the "Caribbean version" of Paczki (a Wisconsin thing) on Fat Tuesday. I also went to an Origami class and made Valentines! The suitcases are unpacked and put away. The laundry is done and now it's back to "normal" life. We're helping transport grand kiddos while mom and dad take a trip. I need a spread sheet to keep track of all of their activities! Have a great day, K
  12. We just got off of the Nieuw Statendam. I don't know how full the ship was, but I'm guessing it was pretty much booked. There were some kids, younger and older, and they all seemed to be having fun. The Lido Buffet was crowded at lunch time, some days it was hard to find a seat. Breakfast and dinner were much different there. (We only ate at the buffet area) The other issue was finding someplace to sit on sea days. We like shady spots, and they were hard to find. We had a wonderful time though!
  13. We were at the FLL airport yesterday, flight scheduled for 5:20 pm. Got to the the airport around 11:30, after getting rained out at the Everglades. Saw people sleeping on the floor at the ticketing area. Got checked in and went to the gate...what a mess. Heard flights diverted because of weather, then bad weather alert on the phone. We were sent to a new gate two times, finally departed around 9:30. Got home around midnight. We were glad to get home! Our cruise on Nieuw Statendam was wonderful, can't say enough good things about the staff, food, entertainment and everything else. The only "issue" we had was finding somewhere to sit on sea days, not enough chairs! I'm off to donate blood, have a good afternoon! K
  14. We had a great time! Food was good, enjoyed the entertainment and the ports! The staff was wonderful, many good things to say!
  15. Bad weather here, waiting at the airport for our flight home. Flights are delayed ☔️🌧️☔️😢
  16. Good morning from half moon cay! Another beautiful morning. It’s supposed to rain in Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow. Our flight is late so we signed up for an Everglades tour…we shall see what happens🫤 Thanks to all who care and share here. Have a good day. K
  17. @Haljo1935yes, Valentine’s Day treat! Food has been great! We’re doing lots of stairs, but do smile at the elevator mats. The comedian last night also mentioned them!😁
  18. Happy Friday! (I have to find an elevator to make sure it’s really Friday!). We’re having a wonderful time on Nieuw Statendam, everything has been great😃. A bit breezy today with more motion on the ocean, but we’re relaxing at the midship pool. I haven’t read much this week, but prayers and cheers for all. k
  19. Thanks for all of the well wishes. Captain says departure at 3:45. Ready to go!
  20. Good morning, and happy Friday! It's 39F here with high of 50F. Yesterday we broke a very old record, hit 59F! Not bad for Wisconsin! Last evening we had severe thunder storms and a tornado hit about 1.5 hours away from us, lots of damage being found this am. First time a tornado hit in Wisconsin in February, sad for those with damage. It's very rural there and farms/barns were damaged. I think we're packed and ready to go on our voyage! The soup sounds good, haven't been to the port, but did read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Sure made you think about the horrors of war. @StLouisCruisersPrayers for you DGD, I can't imagine the fear that attack would cause... @JazzyVPrayers that you get relief soon from your back pain. Thanks for all of your updates to the caring list. Prayers and good thoughts for all who need them, and cheers to all celebrating and traveling! Thanks for the caring and sharing here, the pictures today are great! K
  21. Happy Hump Day! It's 48F and cloudy here. We have 2 ballerinas in our family, and one of them will be in her school play in April. They're doing Wonka Jr. Can't wait to see that! We're busy packing, and will see St. Thomas next week, getting excited! Hugs, prayers and good thoughts for all that need them, cheers for everyone cruising! have a good rest of your day, K
  22. Greetings from a sunny, warm (38F) day in Wisconsin! The drink does not sound good, haven't been to the port, and I'm wondering what a "hot pot" is? @Denise TWow about your stove, happy to hear you figured out how to get it off, how scary! @smitty34877Sorry to hear that Tana is not doing well, hoping you can get some help soon. @JazzyVSorry to hear your pain and numbness are so bad, hoping you can get some help moving your furniture, etc. Do you have a date yet for the procedure? @GeorgeCharlieThanks for the interesting info about the statues! I've been looking at East coast Canada cruises, would like to go, but air travel is not easy for us to get there! Prayers for all who are having bad weather. We are having an abnormally warm, dry winter. Heard about King Charles an hour ago, hoping all goes well for him. I've been busy trying to finish up some lap quilts I've made, the binding is not my favorite part to do! Have a good day, back to work for me! Prayers for all that need them and cheers to those celebrating and cruising! K
  23. Happy Groundhog day! The groundhog at our zoo died last year, so this year penguins are going to predict how much longer our winter will be! There is no sun now, so we shall see what they say at 9am. We've had a very mild winter so far, hoping it continues. The ski areas are not happy. There isn't much snow "up north" either. The lakes have barely enough ice for ice fishing. The beef stew sounds good today! i'm not sure about the drink or the wine. Haven't been to the port, but I'm ready to look at pictures today. We'll be on a BHB soon, and I'm starting to get things ready to pack today, getting excited! Thanks to everyone who cares and shares here. K
  24. When do they usually assign boarding times? Not seeing anything on our boarding pass yet.
