We have booked our first Celebrity cruise.  We are platinum on Royal Caribbean and have read on Celebrity’s website that would allow us Select status on Celebrity. On our Celebrity profile it does show both our Crown and Anchor number as well as our Celebrity Captain Club number we received when we booked the cruise but it also indicates that we are Preview status with 2 points to Classic tier. When do we enjoy the Select status?

You are still a Preview member until after your first cruise and collect CC points. You will however get the perks of Select by virtue of the reciprocity status. The points do not combine.

I know on S class to look for the squares & count from there, but how does it work on M class ships? I'm looking at C1s and there are huge blocks that have the squares. Does that mean they all have bed by bathroom?? Specifically looking around 8076, 8080.

M class is bed by the bath for all verandah cabins.

I agree.  This solves one problem where at least the cabin you want is available because you are able to choose it during booking.  However I don't know if there is a requirement that the cabin category below it (which the price would be based on) has to be available in order to get the free upgrade.  Maybe someone can comment about that from their experience.

I have never looked at any category below, I just pick one and let my guy know. He adjusts the price to the lower category, so I really can't say.

Thanks for the response.  My reservation was made in November 2022 and final payment is due tomorrow.   I thought the within 48 hours was only if booking was made after the typical final payment date?

I copied the below language I found on Celebrity's website.  Are OBCs/promotions considered part of the prevailing cruise fare? I would think Celebrity would specify that rather than just state Celebrity will reduce cruise fare to a available prevailing cruise fare.  I would still be better off getting the price reduction (with a reduction in OBC) than keeping my current pricing, but I am not convinced they should be changing the original OBC based on the best price guarantee wording for price changes occurring before final payment date.

For a request submitted on or before the due date of final payment, the following applies:

Request for a Lower Cruise Fare:

Celebrity will reduce cruise fare to available prevailing cruise fare. If full payment has been made, a refund will be issued.

Request to Add or Change an Added Value Offer

Celebrity will 1) apply an Added Value Offer to booking and 2) go to prevailing eligible cruise fare

NOTE: If either the new cruise fare or Added Value Offer is not combinable with any promotion associated with the existing booking, or changes are being made outside of promotional booking window, the existing promotion will be removed from the booking. No refund or exchange will be given on a promotion offer (added value)

NOTE: an Added Value Offer refers to an amenity added to your booking, such as an onboard credit, specialty dining, shore excursion, etc.

For a request submitted after the due date of final payment AND the booking is within 48 hours from creation, the following applies:

Request for a Lower Cruise Fare

Celebrity will apply an onboard credit to the booking in the amount of 100% of the difference in price.

Right. So in your case it would just be repriced at the current fare and promos. All existing promos would disappear.

Have any of you been there before?  We have been on many S-Class cruises, all five ships.  Our cabin always seems to be port side, deck ten, near the library, concierge class, in the cabins between 1201 and 1215.  We know our way around the ship, even cabin numbers starboard side, odd numbers port side.  Whenever we take the elevators by the front of the ship, for example, when we get off the elevator on deck ten, we seem to pick the wrong side of the ship.  Same with getting off the mid bank of elevators.  We often turn the wrong way.  Also, when we get off the elevator on any floor, and we want to go toward the front of the ship, we turn and then realize we are going toward the aft.  Or vice versa.  So, even us seasoned cruisers, during our ten or twelve day cruise, we find that we turn the wrong way many times.  Has this happened to you, or are you cruise savvy and go the right way? Not really a topic to inform just to add a little humor now and again.

When on an S class, I always get off any elevator in the same direction on a given cruise.. If my cabin is on the port side I exit the elevator to the right. Forward elevator takes you to the port hallway, midship  port elevators take you through the library/card room, etc to the port hallway. Starboard elevators take you to the stairs and then right to the port hallway.  No matter which elevator you use, when you get to the hallway a right will take you forward. Same process, but all left turns will take to to the starboard hallway going forward.😁

I bet it been atleast 8 years since they change Bistro to Sushi

They changed in Sept/Oct 2016. I was one of the last diners on the final day before changeover to Sushi on my Canada-New England Summit cruise in 2016. It was actually done mid-cruise.

...It was our favorite place to go after boarding the ship.

...Exactly. I also went there a time or two when the MDR menu didn't excite me and I didn't want to deal with the lines in the buffet.

    Hello All,

We are committed Celebrity cruisers, but it has been 8 long years since our last cruise.  We were searching for a cruise, and for us, the ship is just as important as the destination in some cases.  After reading reviews on the Edge class ships, we decided to book our old favorite Solstice class on Equinox.  We sailed on this ship in the past, but apparently they have changed a few things since then.  Does anyone know if they still have the Bistro on 5 and I just can’t find it, or did they exchange it for something else?  TIA!

    Abby

Sad to say it is gone. It was my favourite place for a quiet meal.

Looking at a Constellation cruise and see it has new deck plans starting soon. Is anyone familiar with the current obstructions, pro's and cons of V3 partial view balcony rooms, in particular 8010. A quick search has really only shown me external distant photos and a bit hard to tell. Thanks in advance.

The obstructions are the extended balconies on deck 6, and the wall forward of 8006 (cabin 8002).

  10. International Air Travel

All travelers, including children, require a valid passport.

Celebrity Cruises® requires that all guests travel with a passport that is valid for at least six (6) months beyond the end of their cruise.

As can be seen, even though a six month validity after cruise completion is not required for many countries, it is a requirement set out by Celebrity.

Good Morning.  Frequent Cruiser here but have never sailed on Celebrity as yet.  I am running thru the booking and notice that the veranda rooms on the 6th floor of these ships is showing partial view??  Exactly what is the partial for this deck/rooms??  Thanks in advance!!  Also i notice if i am choosing veranda rooms, it is ONLY letting me choose form this deck.

Most of the partial views on this deck are due to the lifeboats.

I was making MDR dining reservations for upcoming Constellation Mediterranean cruise and noticed evening dining times didn’t start until 6PM. What are evening dining time in the buffet currently?

When is your cruise. The app is notorious for not being up to date until you are on the ship.

...  Not sure why but all of Celebrity's flights seem to now be refundable.

My WAG is that there were too many that booked flights for pay later and then cancelled their cruise, so did not go through with the air portion. To hold those seats and then lose them probably cost FBC a few dollars. This way they have no real liability by you booking so early and deferring payment. You are now paying for that convenience.
