UPDATE: so far, it's looking like https://primelinkinsurance.ca/ might be the best bet. An online quote is coming in around $530 for 15 days. She obviously wants to check in with her doctor and confirm that she's answering everything correctly before going ahead.

I'd never heard of this company before, and a Google search for reviews doesn't amount to much. Has anyone heard of them? Good? Bad?

Yes, we've used it. Luckily, didn't have to make a claim but the coverage was good. And you can cancel up until day you cruise because it was just for medical.

What I don't get - random cruises in January and February and now March being cancelled - with others in between sailing with guests - and yet everything we read says the NA is the ship holding all the crew from HAL and Princess needing to quarantine ..... we have two February cruises on the NA booked and don't know if we're cruising or not!

Shouldn't you be checking this out? Sooner than later.

  3. We travelled with my mom at 81. She had a number of medical issues. We applied at Mecipac and Prime Link insurance. We filled out the form and a panel of their doctors go over it and they get back to you with a price based on your details. That's if they approve you. We tried another cruise a few years later but she was turned down for insurance.u

These are underwritten policies and quite expensive. I think hers cost as much as her 10 day cruise. but it was her first and last cruise, so worth the cost for her.

Hope you find insurance so that your mom can go on the cruise.

Unable to get through today.  Left a phone message for my PCC,  sent her 2 emails, tried to access the chat function, no agents available.  Will try again tomorrow.

If anyone has any suggestions for how I can contact someone at HA, I would appreciate it.

I think you just stay on the line without entering their extension number.

You should check to see if a knife can be brought onboard through ship security.  This may sound strange given that knives are provided, though I suspect that the waiters make sure that all sharp knives are accounted for after dinner.

Just get a couple sets of flatware from the Lido and keep it in your room. Then if necessary wash and hide it from stewards if you are quarantined.

Just out of curiosity, how on earth did they track down the passengers already ashore?  I can see if they all went all the way through the mall, but when I went off on my one in Nov.,  I took the back route that bypasses most of the mall...  just trying to wrap my head around how I would have been notified....

Doesn't a really long blast in the ship's horn mean "Get back to the Ship at once"?
