It is if you get to the cabin to take your medication on embarkation day and you need water to take your medication with.

    On Royal Caribbean I get

A bottle of champagne in an ice bucket and 2 glasses.

    6 bottles of water.

    2 bottles of soft drinks.

    1 bottle of Corona.

A plate of cookies or chocolate strawberries

waiting in our cabin on embarkation.

On Princess we have a Mini bar set up plus bottled water.

You lost me there was no facilities onboard to take your medication, than you give us a breakdown on the perks your getting on other lines, but fail to mention if the various cruises are like for like.

Also on Princess to get the benefit the passenger has to be military or ex military and you have to show proof.  On P & O they use the Defence Discount Card which as I understand it also includes civilians that work for the MOD , imo they should use the same criteria as Princess .
interestingly it seems on Princess in the USA , if both passengers in a cabin are military they can both get the OBC on P & O you can’t I don’t think.

You can also get into the theme parks for free on various days

Bear in mind that the report on the Princess forum is from the US. There are many differences between how Princess operate in the US and how they operate in the UK.

There is a great difference in the benefits, my son who served was injured whilst on duty, would have been allowed various perks, if he was stateside one being a free cruise, so you cannot accurately compare the benefits

  4. Nothing changes on here does it, now the great pre prepared food debate does anyone actually believe that they don’t prepare the food daily, if they do what is your favourite tipple I certainly need the out of body experience your having.

Welcome back.  Hope your wife is fully recovered and you had a good cruise in May.

Thankyou she is better but the fun part is explaining to the insurance company once the offending organ was removed no chance of a recurrence but still they charged me £80 extra, the cruise around the med was great less so for me, as soon I got back had to have a tooth removed it got grumpy on the second day, i had to drink warm beer to kill the pain.

  6. Alas if I only knew that they was cutting back on cheese selections I would never have gone on our cruise in may, or paid for our transatlantic in October, but saying that hopefully they continue to put cheese on the pizza otherwise I will never cruise with p&o again.

Well it seems they are listening as this is in the latest leaflet I received from P&O.

I didn’t have any issues using the ‘app’ on Iona though.8DEA5A63-2A7C-43B5-B3BA-688B76658FF4.thumb.jpeg.6d9b8338f55eef7eafb15c675a284afa.jpeg

Me neither but it will be easier for those who repeatedly moan about there inability or refusal to use something which is reasonably simple.

Thank you for that information.  I note the hope we can expect improvements in time which appears to be an acknowledgment that many of the things we have been discussing here are facts rather than us just being nitpicking.

Is there an order for addressing the issues, ie the supply issue is presumably more urgent than say finding and training staff.  The new menus onboard are clearly quite contentious for instance, are the passengers being listened to - there is a repeated reference in reviews of the lack of choice and quality.  Whilst appreciating all lines are adjusting menus to save food costs, P&O really do appear to be at the bottom of the pile at present, words like bland, repetitive, tough and stale make uncomfortable reading on the review pages and social media. It's not a pretty picture.  The customers would I'm sure appreciate honesty and possibly a proper statement by Paul Ludlow or someone high up to let them know how things are going to improve and most importantly by when.

Got to say we are not reading the same things, someone just returned from Arvia and had nothing but praise for food entertainment etc, someone on our last cruise complained the cabin was dirty all cruise entertainment was terrible and there was only curry on in the buffet, when asked did he enjoy the cruise yes his doing it again this year
