  1. Snap, we are also on this cruise, will be our 3rd MSC cruise.
  2. with us it wasn't that she got the points, she got points she shouldn't. It was onboard spending, for the points she got she would have had to have spent about $20,000, which she defiantly didn't 😂
  3. booked bella inside, got inside. Ship was sold out though.
  4. Has this ever happened to anyone? The wife got way more points than she should have, she is now Diamond and I'm still Gold, I've got status envy.
  5. I've finally had a response from them, they said it is being looked at but can take up to 60 days from disembarkation date.
  6. I'll give them another week or so, then might have to raise a dispute with credit card if no joy.
  7. Cancelled an excursion a couple of weeks before our cruise (sailed 3rd Feb), still no refund, have emailed post cruise support twice now but with no response. MSC's poor customer service strikes again.
  8. Does the dedicated Aurea restaurant open for breakfast and if so from what times? We never actually used the MDR on Seascape for breakfast as we were never up and ready in time as it only opened 7.00-8.30 I believe.
  9. The wife has just hit Diamond status, we are sailing in YC for the first time on Virtuosa in June, is it worth skipping a YC dinner for one of the speciality restaurants. We are only doing 5 nights and as we haven't done YC before not sure whether to miss one of the dinners or not.
  10. Interesting, you would like to think a company would have standards across the board wouldn't you.
  11. What ship was this on out of interest? We never experienced anything like that in the full 14 nights. One thing we did have an issue with was the room attendant not leaving spare toilet roll, a few times we had to go looking for some.
  12. We completed our first MSC cruise in Feb, we had no complaints whatsoever. We had only done RC in the past (x4, with our last being 2019) and went with MSC purely on price, we did 14 nights with drinks and Wifi for pretty much what 7 nights on RC with no drinks was going to be. We found the ship at certain times crazy busy (pool deck sea days, buffet at peak breakfast and lunch times) but managed ourselves to avoid these times, for example, sea days in particular we would go up to the upper pool deck about 9am (no one up there) find ourselves some beds, kids (9 & 13) took themselves off to the buffet, we would have a coffee or two and then at about 10.30 go for some breakfast, much quieter. Some days we would just skip breakfast and go for lunch at about 11.45, again much quieter, I appreciate doing what we did wouldn't work for everyone but suited us fine. From memory I don't think the MDR food is as good as RC but from what I have read all cruise lines standards have gone down in that area and to be honest I couldn't say we ever had a bad meal in the MDR. Not huge portions, maybe a little on the small side, particularly appetisers and deserts, but never left hungry. All in all, we had a fantastic cruise and have two more booked on MSC, in fact one next year is with a big family group of 13, my mother and father in law are seasoned RC cruisers so hopefully they like MSC 😂 I can totally understand why some people wouldn't enjoy MSC though, busy, noisy ships with a very varied passenger demographic, not for everyone. For us though, we loved it and no one can come near their prices so its a no brainer, oh also the ship, Seascape was stunning, one of the best if not the best we have been on.
  13. That was the way I looked at it, I can live without premium spirits and don't drink cocktails so it was just a few wines over the $10 limit.
  14. I'm not sure about doing it onboard but we had the option to do it on the online portal before boarding, worked out at $20 per day per person. I'm sure you must be able to do it on board but don't quote me on it.
  15. How did the food compare? I was watching a video review yesterday of MSC Europa, they showed and reviewed the food in the buffet. It didn't look a patch to the buffet food we had on Seascape in February, everything from the choice to the presentation just didn't look as good.
  16. I had the 3100 before the Seascape cruise, they were from status match with RC. It seems like the new ones aren't included in the total yet.
  17. Its showing that I have 3100 currently and "I think" that I accrued 3700 on our recent cruise, am I reading it right?
  18. Sailed Seascape in Feb in an interior (our first MSC cruise) we had already booked YC interior on Virtuosa for June and have just booked World America for 2025 in an Infinite Ocean View Aurea, with it having 3 sea days we thought we would really benefit with access to the Top 20 Solarium deck as sea days on Seascape were really busy up on the sundecks.
  19. Just looking at the WA plan that cabin doesn't have a sofa that turns into bunks, I would bet its the ones with bunks that don't open as they are near the window....and we need bunks, damn it.
  20. Thanks, Not sure what you mean by your second comment?😂
  21. Would anyone happen to know which cabins have the panoramic sliding window that turns into a glass balustrade when open, as on the website it says "some" not all.
  22. I honestly can't remember but I'm pretty sure it was well before 4pm as we spent the afternoon up on the deck, I'm sure it was around 1pm as I've just remembered we were actually going to the restaurant to see where our table was.
  23. I thought we did what you said, but what we actually did was, got on board, went for lunch, happened to be passing our muster station (Cala Jondal restaurant), they scanned just one of our cruise cards, once we could get in our cabin put the video on (didn't really watch it) then rang the number, seemed very easy.
  24. How long can I expect to wait for a cancelled excursion to go back on my card? I cancelled it around the 19th Jan but nothing been refunded as yet.
