  1. I am sorry for your predicament but I think you are confusing 'singles' cruising with 'solo' cruising. There are many cruisers who cruise solo not because we do not have 'a partner' or are lonely; very often they are married and their spouse could not cruise or doesn't like to cruise. Just like I would not like to go on a hunting vacation. We cruise solo for many reasons; usually not wanting to make a 'connection'.

Well said. I get quite a bit more paid-time off than my partner which is why I go on 1 or 2 solo cruises a year.

  2. It came to about $950 for both of us, but we felt like we were drinking all day to get our money's worth. We definitely would not have had as much had we not used Cheers, and probably would have come in under $950.

That has been my experience using Cheers in the past. I tend to only get it on 5-day cruises instead of the longer ones now.

  3. 1. Staying near the airport will save us a lot of money.....but, how convenient is it to the French Quarters?

As the above poster said, not at all. I stayed near the airport once due to a great deal but if you are wanting to go into the city that is offset by taxi costs. Definitely stay in the Quarter or CBD.
