  1. I forgot - I did get a burger at the "sports bar" - the Sun's equivalent to the Local - a few weeks ago. And it tasted like a real burger (even though I forgot to ask for bacon). So it seems like maybe they are back on track!
  2. Just curious, when was the last time you had one of their burgers? As I said, they USED to be excellent. But then they changed what they were using as "meat" - probably about a year ago, maybe a little longer. And I've not gone back since, maybe they've gotten enough complaints that they are edible again.
  3. I would also expect there would be fees as well. Choosing airlines or paying a fee to be able to upgrade from economy would be nice. And NCL if you are listening - maybe waive fees for higher latitudes levels as a perk...😊
  4. Real sales are rare...prices fluctuate but the % off usually remains the same. It's now 35% off the "real" price, regardless of how they list it. Other parts might change, mostly affecting additional guests. Assuming you are in the US, all deposits are fully refundable until the final payment due date (120 days prior to your cruise date). You can book now and keep an eye out for price drops. If the price is lower at anytime before that final payment date you can call NCL and they will adjust your price. But that does alter your reservation so you get whatever offers are current, for better or worse.
  5. It would be nice if they could at least just offer a couple of options- something that could probably be automated somewhat. And then those 300 folks could actually focus on making the reservations instead of dealing with the barrage of phone calls when people aren't happy. On my last trip they booked a short layover in Seattle - doable but just barely, assuming nothing goes wrong. Given a choice, I would have chosen the next flight, 2 hours later. A flight I ended up on anyway because of delays, fortunately there was an available seat. Some of their choices are absurd!
  6. Unfortunately, special orders would not negate the issue with the "meat" -in quotes because I really don't know what to call it! Burgers in the Local are cooked to order, more or less, as far as I know. I don't think what they use in the buffet is any different than what they use elsewhere.
  7. The burgers at O'Sheehans (or Local) used to be really good. But they changed the meat, as has already been mentioned. Not sure what the problem is but I found them nearly inedible and I'm not all that picky. Chalked it up to a fluke the first time, maybe just the supply for that particular ship. Tried again on my next cruise and still awful. Haven't gone back. I go to the buffet and get a chicken breast instead.
  8. Currently that is true. Comment I read was with respect to upcoming changes, details to come at a future date. Maybe a different interpretation of what was said, assuming it was the same webinar?
  9. It works fine on the US site but before going to the actual booking there is a notice that the itinerary has changed.
  10. Even though it doesn't show on the website, Spirit is still scheduled to be in Australia in December 2024 - unless somebody at NCL was really asleep at the wheel and forgot to notify people on the 2 remaining cruises in December 2024. Both fit the "extraordinary journey" category, both 1x itineraries. Dec 7 is Sydney to Bali, with 5 stops in Australia, in addition to Sydney, then on to Indonesia. Dec 21 is Bali to Singapore. Where it's coming from, where it's going to - who knows!
  11. I'm booked from Seward to Vancouver in August - decided it was easier to drive to Seattle (4-5hr drive) rather than even try to get reasonable flights to Anchorage, returning from Vancouver. I usually fly out of Eugene. Direct flights to/from Seattle, no worries about missing connections.
  12. Just read on another site that NCL is resetting their flight ticketing target-date to 75 days, more like it used to be. Sounds good but with all the airline changes and cancellations, I'm not sure that getting flight info earlier guarantees anything. So instead of complaints about not getting flight information, there will be complaints about changes. But the other news was about possible enhancements to the air promotion - to allow guest customizations.
  13. You should be able to call the world points number and have the points returned to your account, shouldn't take very long. I personally wouldn't just wait to see what happens.
  14. Australia to Bali and Bali to Singapore in December 2024 have not been cancelled yet. So they seem to still be planning something in that part of the world. Maybe NZ/Aus in late 2024, Asia in 2025.
  15. I'm a little jealous - but it depends on where they are redeploying. My cruise isn't on the chopping block at the moment but I'm open to choosing something else if the price is right! The cruise I have booked is really spendy... Probably my most expensive to date.
  16. So at the moment, That one isn't surprising, why go to Alaska before/after the charter in Tahiti. Something I hadn't noticed earlier was a break in January 2025, nothing booked - which can be an early indication that things might change. At the moment anyway, Australia/Bali in late 2024 seems to still be on the schedule. The Dec 21, 2024 cruise ends in Singapore so maybe the Spirit will be staying in Asia - back to it's original roots!
  17. The last time I got an message that said I couldn't choose my seats online ( I think it was Iceland Air) I called and sweet-talked them into assigning me the seats I wanted. Never hurts to try.
  18. The Spirit is/was scheduled for Australia in late 24/early 25 and some of us have reservations, as of now, reservations that are still apparently valid. But the entire schedule for Spirit has disappeared so whether or not NCL is still going there is unknown at the moment..
  19. Just tried my saved link to my December 2024 Sydney to Bali cruise and got the "your itinerary no longer available" notice. But it's still in my account, no change in itinerary. Hope it's just a glitch in the system but... Darn, finally found a cruise to places in Australia, other than Sydney. Nothing showing on NCL site for Spirit after April, 2024. Here's what cruisemapper shows as the schedule
  20. Interesting. I booked the Sydney to Bali cruise, Dec 2024. Because it actually spends time in Australia -5 ports in addition to Sydney. I book for itinerary, not the ship. As to the Spirit, it was more or less gutted when refurbished so yea the ship is older but interior is newer. But as of now, who knows why nothing is showing past next April on the website. My reservation is still active in my account.
  21. You are going to have to be a little more specific. When is your cruise? Did you get your record locator ID? Sometimes NCL uses placeholders in your account and final flights are different. If your flights have actually been ticketed, you should have gotten flight information, including the E-ticket and record locator. Sometimes flights are actually operated by partner airlines and you might have to go through that site. I've never had an issue finding my reservations but getting seat assignments is up to the airline, may not be possible until check-in time. Boarding passes usually not available until check-in 24hrs before your flight.
  22. I consider the SH benefit to be in lieu of dividends, which don't exist with NCL stock. Unless I'm mistaken, stocks don't give dividends based strictly on inflation. I'm surprised they haven't reduced the benefit to correspond with the loss in value - something they could do at any time.
  23. I know that they do keep waitlists for excursions - I've gotten tickets delivered to my room, no call asking if I still wanted them, etc. Kinda like putting in a bid. But I don't know if that is an automatic process - meaning you could potentially lose your reservation - or a manual one, where somebody looks at the waitlist and puts in the information. I do know that I once jumped to the head of the list when I only needed a single ticket and there was a single cancellation - they didn't wait to see if there might be more spots opening up.
  24. Yes, I've been able to use the SH OBC for non-eligible items when my account got credited for a cancelled excursion. Haven't tried the cancel/rebook approach though but I don't know why it wouldn't work.
