  2. The land tours on a cruise tour aren't run by NCL - they are contracted to a 3rd party. You will be able to choose/book any available land excursions through your tour guide. As far as NCL is concerned, you are on a 7 day cruise. And in case you were wondering, you do not get latitudes points for the land portion of your trip. tours.pdf
  3. Sorry, have to ask. Did NCL cancel transfers from the airport? They did that to me in Buenos Aires, just want to know if this is becoming a common practice, after they assured me that it was just an issue with BA.

  5. Doubt that anything will change in the next few months, unless you are talking about 2025. There schedules are pretty much set years in advance, unless something happens to make them redeploy ships elsewhere.
  6. They won't decline your bid until the last minute, so there is no opportunity to bid again.
  7. I booked a flight through NCL for a cruise leaving from Stockholm. A week or so before I was scheduled to leave, SAS announced a potential airline strike. NCL proactively rebooked my flights, on other airlines, completely different itineraries. Had I booked directly with the airlines I would have spent a considerable amount of time and money trying to rebook overseas flights at the last minute. Another reason to consider not booking directly with airlines. It goes both ways.
  8. I've always gotten email and/or texts from the airline once I've checked in. But you do have to ask to receive notifications. That should be sufficient proof for insurance I would think.
  9. The container was actually labeled as shampoo, not shampoo/conditioner so seemed to be a more permanent addition. There was another discussion earlier when someone noticed that their container had been topped off with clear shampoo, rather than the usually cloudy mix. I guess time will tell.
  10. Yes, you can just go 1-way. You will pay half of the quoted price, just need to decide before your final payment DUE date. You can also start from 1 location, return to somewhere else, assuming it's a gateway that they would normally use.
  11. There are multiple types of FCC. Just speculation on my part, based on how it's been on my account. FCC given in lieu of a refund shows in your account and when applied is shown as a payment. The 25% FCC given as a bonus from covid cancellations was directly applied as a reduction to the cruise fare when booking another cruise and isn't available as an actual payment, has to be applied by TA/PCC to a booking. FCC given for price-drops is also applied directly to cruise fare, not available as an actual payment. Those don't seem to appear in MyNCL accounts either. Maybe NCL's way (intentional or not) to limit use of credits and discount certificates unless you are using a TA or PCC?
  12. An issue that I mention anytime I call the excursions desk...and sometimes remember to mention in my post cruise survey. But there can not be any overlap. One option is to mark all the excursions as favorites before booking anything - but you still won't see if anything new is added.
  13. Wow, what a blow to all those people using credit card points to book their flights, believing that they are in a better position than those booking with NCL. Guess they need to just cash in their points and use the money to book directly.

  15. Any reference to priority status had to do with type of tickets, not how they were purchased. I don't doubt that first class passengers would get priority treatment. Not proof that there is any advantage to purchasing economy tickets directly from the airlines over purchasing economy tickets through NCL or another 3rd party - with respect to rescheduling, bumping, etc.
  16. 2 out of 3, not continuing with Bali to Singapore. A taste of Asia, plus northern Alaska - been booked since they first posted it (still paying DSC rates from 2 increases back!). And I've been waiting for awhile to find a cruise that actually spends time in Australia - not the usual NZ with a side of Sydney!
  17. My exact same experience. Once with United (in Buenos Aires), once with Iceland Air (in Stockholm). Both offered transportation and hotel accommodations, meals included. Both automatically rebooked my flight and allowed me to later change the flight. And United gave me a $200 credit. And per the instructions given with NCL flight information, the AIRLINE owns the reservation 72 hours prior to flight time. NCL would have no reason to call, nor would NCL have information about the cancellation.
  18. LOL, great minds think alike. Just back from Antarctica, going to Alaska (again) soon, went to Norway a few years ago. Bookd on the Japan to Alaska transpacific next April, Australia to Indonesia next December.
  19. Let me rephrase - I'm not surprised when things go wrong. But as far as flights, who booked the flight hasn't ever been a factor for me anyway. In fact, flights I've booked on my own have often been more problematic, as far as delays, than the ones booked by NCL. But I will also admit that I've done enough travelling at this point to know what to do when things don't go as planned - I'm extremely resourceful and flexible, so that helps. And can be quite assertive if need be - hey, old age has its privileges!
  20. CN manager on the Star a few months ago said you can do the same restaurant twice but you only get 1 bottle of wine.
  21. As far as I know, they are phasing out the shampoo/conditioner and just have shampoo. Whether or not that's a permanent change or just a supply issue remains to be seen. But just shampoo on the Star in February.
  22. I don't assume from the get-go that things will go wrong. The savings is worth the risk for me, so far all my cancelled flights have been on return trips and I'm retired so usually not a big deal if I'm delayed. My last cancelled flight resulted in an offer of a fully paid 6-day vacation in Capetown, the same offer given to others on the same flight, regardless of whether or not they booked directly through the airline. Maybe others who checked in earlier got better service, I really don't know. I wasn't in a position to contact the airline until several hours after the cancellation was announced. My biggest issue with the airline is that they just re-booked people on the same flight, 6 days later- a simple Google search helped me find a flight the next day, on the same airline, after they kept insisting nothing else was available. Per the invoice, NCL paid $1800 for my airfare. I paid $599. And I'm using the $200 voucher to fly to Alaska later this summer.
  23. NCL has a working relationship with CC - so yes, access to CC (as well as NCL sites) is free. Meet & Greets are coordinated through CC as well.
  24. I think that kinda depends. Possibly true if the airline is being proactive and rebooking everyone. But if I'm in line/on the phone with the airline they are dealing with me, not putting me on hold while they take care of all "their" passengers first.
  25. So just a FYI, in case anyone is wondering. I booked an OV, used my points to upgrade to a balcony. As often happens, price went down after final payment so I asked for FCC, not knowing if they would even consider the request because of the upgrade or how they would calculate the FCC. I got the FCC, it was the difference between what I paid for the OV and the current price of the OV - which makes sense to me. It wasn't a huge amount - and would have been more if I'd waited a little longer (ship is nearly sold out, so that would have been a little risky) - but I'm happy.
