We had to take our Covid tests this morning (passed!!! Yay) for the land part of our Land Sea tour. When I went to upload them to the Medallion app it won’t take them yet. It looks like the app is set to take a Covid test for the ship boarding only and not the land tour. Did others see it this way? We fly out tomorrow and I have printed out our test results and I will have them with me. Will there be someone/somewhere on our land tour that will want to see this? I can’t seem to find details regarding this anywhere other than I needed to have an AG test within 48 hours before our Land portion of the cruise.

My wife and I leave on Sunday for 3 days on the land with Princess before embarking on the Grand for our Inside Passage cruise. I just noticed that within our documentation it shows us arriving at the McKinley Princess Wilderness lodge at around 1:30pm. And on the next day we get to McKinley Chalet Resort (this just changed this week for us) at 12:30pm. But both list the check in times at 4pm. Is this accurate? If so...what do you usually do before check in at the resorts? We also have a natural history tour into Denali from 2-7pm the day we get to the McKinley Chalet Resort. Does this mean that we have no chance to get into a room to change or freshen up for the trip? And that we wouldnt be able to check in until return from the 5 hour trip sometime after 7pm? Thanks!

I have transportation that will take me from one hotel to the other via princess. Is this a bus with a bathroom? If not does anyone know if they take a rest break on that trip? It looks like it takes close to around 3 hours. Couldn’t find that information.

I am coming from the East Coast for our Alaska trip in 2 weeks. I picked the Port side to face the land figuring that Starboard may have more light in the evening creeping through the curtains. Was thinking it may be a little darker on the other side to help me sleep. I know the sun will rise early but with being used to a time zone 3-4 hours earlier I figured it wouldn't be that bad.

Looks like things are working well today. 4 ships are docked at Skagway today including 2 at the Railroad dock (Front and Aft). This is from the discovery princess now

My wife and I will be flying in on Sunday July 24th. We should be arriving sometime around 2pm from our flight and will eventually make our way to the Hotel Captain Cook to start off our next few days on our Land Tour. We wanted to walk around the city for a little bit in the evening and try to get some food and are going back and forth between two locations. Glacier Brewhouse or 49th State Brewing. Both within easy walking distance from the Hotel. Do any of you have recommendations of one or the other? Both look good...but I was hoping to talk to some that have been to either location in the past. Thanks!

Does the size of the ship have anything to do whether or not they will be docking there, tendering people in, or skipping it all together?

Absolutely love your post. The level of detail is great. Very excited to see where this goes.

You summed up what was going on in my head….but said it much nicer. Overall it is not a big deal. The scenery from our balcony room will beat any show they can give us. And we didn’t want to book a dinner too early and have to rush back to the ship from a port of call that we may never see again. It’s a good problem to have I guess. 😆

Pretty much as the topic states. My wife and I are in the process of trying to book our dinner times for our Alaska trip on the Grand Princess. We were thinking 7pm each night based on the times of our various ports of call. But we were trying to find out what times the evening shows are in the main theatre. Not having much success locating this information. Any one have ideas on that time or some recent princess patters that may show it? Thanks!

Do they make you aware of the time difference changes? May sound silly but I never knew there was a time difference between ports up there.

Looking forward to your updates. We are taking the Grand but going Southbound at the End of July. It will be our first trip ever to Alaska so we are excited to get whatever information we can from those that are in the know. I would love to get your impressions of the WiFi in particular on your first 2 days. When we are coming back we plan on using it for our Covid Test before we fly out of Vancouver. A little nervous how that will be the day before we get into Vancouver.
