  1. Hi, I have done Alaska, 3x - two round-trip Van-Van, one Van-Sea so not true North/South routes and have done Canada/NewEngland once. It's a hard call:D.

The foliage on the Canada/New England is amazing, but is fickle. As is the weather in Alaska. The scenery in Alaska is breath-taking.

My Canada/New England was in October and I had fantastic weather and foliage was at it's peak. I'm a Canadian and loved it.

I haven't done Alaska in the later part of the season (Aug/Sept) - one was end June and two were end May -- the two end May we had hot temps (shorts and t-shirts) the one in June was warm, but rainy a lot of the time. We were able to get into Hubbard on the June one.

Hope you come back OP and say what you chose :).

  2. Awesome Christmas Present!

Key West: I don't do any excursions as I love to just walk around, explore on my own. Things like Hemingway's House, the Lighthouse, Audubon House are all do-able without an excursion. The train or hop-on-hop-off bus. The Butterfly Garden.

Belize: I've done Royal's shore excursions to Altun Ha as well as the river trip to Lamanai Ruins. Both I found worth the trip.

Cozumel: I did Royal's cooking excursion -- Chef Luis is a doll (if he's still there).

I have not been to Costa Maya -- but a ruin would be my choice.:)

    Have a super cruise.

  3. I am sorry if I am being negative but I have been holding on to my emotions & cannot hold on anymore. I understand that everybody has their own opinions but please respect mine.

Coming from a Cuban-American family that had to literally leave Cuba with nothing when the dictator Fidel took office & took (that is correct, just took) all of my families possessions(houses, clothes, jewelry, everything!). I get so mad when individuals want to go to Cuba & give our hard owned money to this government dictatorship. Luckily they were able to come to the USA back then and were able to get their lives back on track & give myself & my brothers a very good life in the U.S.A.).

Also, I just read on MSN.com the other day that the locals in Cuba are having a food shortage now with certain items/staples because all the food is going to the hotels & the tourist areas first. The locals are struggling to find food. Just why we cannot give anything to this dictatorship.

Thank you for letting me rant & please understand that these are my opinions as a son of a Cuban-American family

I totally respect your opinion/point of view. I am a Canadian, and as such have been able to travel to Cuba. I never have done so due to facts you have mentioned, and others -- and will not travel there.

  4. I think this thread is taking a bit of a beeline (as threads will do! LOL) but OP's question was answered early on, so I hope they won't worry about it. The latter replies might be confusing to someone who asked the simple question:

And the answer is NO, you do not. Have done it many times without incident or problem. :)

    Karen, it's definitely taking a nose dive:D.

To the OP -- the correct answer has been posted earlier -- have a great cruise!

  5. Those deck chairs are really close together. I would find that a bit uncomfortable. If you have to climb onto a chair from its foot end then they are too close together, of course, in my opinion.

On the other hand I am finding the interior color scheme of the ship to be really nice. The earth tones have a very calming affect.

I thought exactly the same when I saw Andrew's earlier posts and agree with you and Lisa -- uncomfortable --- like getting stuck in the middle seat of an aircraft. I'm 5ft1in and can't imagine plopping down at the end (without it tipping on my head) and then have to scooch up and try to not spill my drink!

Then decide I don't want to read anymore -- but wait -- you can't lower your chair!

  6.

The gnomes of Central Park. A throwback to the Oasis Class.

    Aw - they are adorable.

Gambee, if your stalking the thread these are for you. What a yacht. Two very nice tenders, a zodiac, jet skis and a hot tub on the back deck. The mast was up to deck 15 on Harmony if not past it.

That is one very impressive yacht!

  7. Here's a strange request, can you tell me how many loungers are in the beach pool. Just the ones that front the pool, not the ones over by the hot tub. It looks so much more crowded than Oasis

John, there are about 30 in the row. It is packed in compared to Oasis and Allure. There really is no where to put down your drinks without the tables. I will look next time I'm there and if my count was really off I will let you know.

It really does look super cramped -- like you can't even move the chairs an inch.
