  1. I was one of those emails. I specifically mentioned the back of Hall 6 and aft of Getaway. Instead they zoomed into Getaway again. But did they just do that? Maybe they are trying to tell us something about the Quantum block closest to the webcam??? Notice how the middle section of that block is open through those decks. Not sure what decks this could be, but certain parts of the deck plans published do show open spaces.

I would suspect that being a stair well.

  2. After looking at the deck plans I don't see where they would fit the elevator.

I don't have the deck plans in front of me, but looking at them is there any regular rooms on the same deck as the aft suites ? If so I would think they would just have the looked glass doors like before to restrict the access to those rooms.

  3. So has anyone else heard about the private aft elevator?

That wouldn't surprise me, considering on the oasis you have to be buzzed in to get to the loft suites.... I felt like I was coming up from steerage just to visit a friend until his room attendant met me then she would just watch for me and let me in

Oh I think its handy in case of emergencies and keeping up with things at

home but that is about it on a cruise / holiday .

In my case that's about it full stop, in the case of phones.

I have been a lurker on FaceBook since day 1 ,but recently bit the bullet and

got around 30 mainly real friends.

It soon became clear who just put anything on FB and that's fine , but they

have all been banned from chat .

Working well and will get an FB app for my Android phone.

    .

I shut my phone off once I get onboard, place it in the safe for the week. If they had an app that u could use for scheduling appointments, excursions I would just put it in plane mode.

I tell everyone I'm I unreachable from this day to this day, I will catch up when I get home.

  5. its will be a a 2014 ship I have to think they will up their technology offerings. If they can build a north star the can make an app that works!!

I don't think North Star was all that hard to make, a crane arm with a ball.. Royal's IT department leaves a lot to be desired.

  6. I was on NCL Breakaway earlier this month and they have an app called iConcierage that you can download to your iPhone or Android device. On board the ship you can connect to the ships internal wifi network for FREE and use the app to check your account, make restaurant reservations, look at the dailies, etc. Of course if you want to use the internet to get to the outside world you have to pay for the privilege. For only $8 for all 7 days you can used the phone to send text message or make free voice calls between devices that also have paid the $8. This service worked great for a few days but then they had some issues and it stopped working the last few days.

I am wondering if RCCL will put something like this on Quantum. When it works, it is a nifty feature and makes it worthwhile to carry your phone. We had a large group and texting was a great way to communicate. It also means you won't need to carry the Compass around since it is at your fingertips.

Has anybody heard about RCCL planning something like this? Makes a ton of sense (so they probably won't do it!).

It would be nice to have something like that to use onboard

  7. Brian - Still no signs of what is going on behind Getaway. They probably already did the keel laying and have not announced it yet. You will recall they announced the steel cutting after the fact.

I'm going out on a limb here and saying that they will prolly wait until the getaway is out of the dry dock before keel laying. Then I remember when they did the keel laying for the oasis and allure the keel never touched bottom during the ceremony. Only time will tell
