  1. Very easy. You'll want to get on a train doing the City Loop (platforms 17 & 18 from memory). There will be lifts from the main concourse (where your train from Canberra will arrive) down to the lower concourse, and then another lift from there up to the platform. There will be another lift for luggage at Circular Quay station, and from there it's a 5 minute walk to check in.
  2. The onboard currency is whatever currencies used where the ship is homeported i.e. Euro in Europe, AUD in Australia etc
  3. Just saw the captain on the Promenade . He expects it to be non revenue
  4. Was just speaking to a Brilliance crew member in Sydney - Captain Juan left a few cruises back, they couldn’t recall the name of the new one.
  5. Interesting you say that. The Quantum 2025 TP eastbound's not bookable on the website, but it was definitely listed on the flyers at Next Cruise on both Ovation & Brilliance last month. I'm getting on Quantum on Wednesday, will try and find out more and report back.
  6. Yes, he was in several of the photos from the handover event that Royal put on Facebook, Twitter etc.
  7. Quantum's repo from Alaska is due into Hawaii on 13/10/24, then positioning to Singapore for Dry Dock until 19/11/24. She may well be stopping into Hong Kong to pick up stuff for dry dock while on the way to Singapore.
  8. I had an overnight on Ovation in Port Vila last November. The last tender from shore left at midnight and started up again at 0630.
  9. Gosh no, Europe can have Quantum, let us keep Ovation. Plus, I'd guess Lelepa would be nearly ready around then so if anything they'd be wanting to send us more ships rather than less
  10. Well it won't fit through the Panama canal, so unless Royal's planning on sending it to Los Angeles or back to the east coast the long way, it'll be going back to Australia/Asia. Plus, there are bookings for Ovation in the Sydney calendar for our 25/26 summer season
  11. Where are you seeing this? I can see the release dates on https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2025_2026/2025-2026_Deployment_Opening_Schedule.pdf but it doesn't mention which ships
  12. I read on a post on FB that it's Captain Marek on Radiance at the moment, not Captain Rumen
  13. Assuming you're docking at the OPT, If you're going to to the straight to the airport at the end of the cruise, it would probable also be a good idea to research getting the train from Circular Quay.
  14. Good gosh, Icon 3 isn't due to be delivered for another 2.5 years. Was the first blocks of Icon delivered this early?
  15. I've seen ships tender to the steps just to the east of the Opera House before.
  16. Considering the announcement the other day re China opening for cruise ships, 🤞 a newly amped Allure might be heading east and doing the itineraries that the Wonder was supposed to do before getting redeployed.
  17. Hope you don't mind, but can I ask you for a massive favour? Seeing as Ovation is such a tiny ship, next time you see him on board (would be in the next hour or 2 I'd imagine 🤣) can you please ask him to jump back in his time machine and find out the winning lottery numbers for next weekend? I really don't want to have to get off Ovation after my 3 nighter on her in early November
  18. Praying that it's Steve Knisley. He was only on Allure for a month or so which I thought was rather short (the presidents cruise was during that time also). He was great on Ovation down in Australia last summer so fingers crossed he'll be bringing her home to Sydney in a few weeks.
  19. The only people who are stiffing them are their employers who don't pay them a proper wage
