My wife and I are early 60s. We sailed on Harmony in February. We didn't love it. Too many kids and all that goes along with that.
However, all the shows were fantastic! Definitely book ahead.
I can offer one tip, bring a towel to sit on at the aqua show. The seats all had soot and stained our clothes.

I'm sure this move was made to cater to the older royal or the kid free crowds that don't want an Oasis class or Icon ship with over 2k kids on it.
It would be great if Royal designated specific ships and/or itineraries as adult-only, like P&O does.

All google 'hits' are pre-Covid.
I noticed that, which is why I was asking. Thanks.
Stupid covid!

Does anyone know when Royal's Antigua beach club is schedule to be completed? I am scheduled to stop in Antigua in May 2024 and I'm wondering if it will be ready by then. Thanks.

I'd go RCCL unless price was hugely different.
Yeah...I think I'll do that.

I would still want to know the price to pick.
Radiance oceanview = $2,200 with tips and insurance. Legend extended balcony = $2,350 with tips.

I'm looking at a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise in Dec. 2024 from Tampa. My two choices are Dec. 7 on Radiance of the Seas or Dec. 8 on Carnival Legend. Both have the same ports. I've never sailed on either ship before. How similar or different are these ships?
Thanks.

You've got a 9-12 month wait. As stated, while it was a poorly kept secret that Legend would be the ship, 2024 was just released within the last month or so.
Any guess which Carnival ship will be in Europe for 2025...maybe Venezia?

Good morning. I will be traveling from Mass. via Amtrak for a Bermuda cruise leaving from Cape Liberty, NJ. Planning to stay the night before at either: #1: Embassy Suites by Hilton Newark Airport or #2: Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Midtown Manhattan/Penn Station. The latter is attractive because I can just walk from Moynihan Train Hall to the hotel.
Are both hotels about the same travel time to Cape Liberty?
Thanks!

I wouldn’t rely much on any schedule over 12 months in advance, especially from a 3rd party website.
I also checked HAL's website. Each ship's itinerary matches what I found on cruisemapper.

Plus the dates shown are for Saturday December 7. The 6 day Magic sailings leave on Saturdays so that would seem to rule out the Magic.
I took a screen grab of the wrong date. This is the correct one, although it still shows 4 ships:

you realize you said you booked magic and then showed the sunrise schedule? not sure which ship you booked
You're right. I didn't notice that. I just looked up the HMC schedule for that date and freaked out when I saw so many ships.

What makes Carnival more fun? It's difficult to quantify, but here are a few:
- Dining room menu is not pretentious
- Dancing waiters
- Guy's Burgers for free!
- Friendly passengers (mostly)
- Just regular people having a good time

I recently booked a 6-day cruise from Miami on Magic. Good price, good itinerary, including my favorite beach Half Moon Cay. However, once I checked port schedules (on CruiseMapper) I realized that Half Moon Cay has 4 ships in port on the same day! No thanks. I need to start checking port schedules before booking.

2 us plugs and a euro outlet on the desk and by the TV
If it's like other Carnival ships, there may be a euro plug under the head of the bed too.

No.
You need to keep checking to see if wait list clears.
Today I called Royal's automated assistant and requested a new cruise confirmation. The new one says "my time dining". Problem solved!

For the price of fewer than 2 cocktails on Royal, you get unlimited drinks on NCL. Definitely not a difficult concept to grasp, you're right. 😉
Your math only works if you factor in that each person will drink two cocktails per day...and that's just to break even!
Last October My wife and I were on Royal's Jewel of the Seas for 10 nights in Greece. My total bar tab was $161.79. 🤑 -

Yes and they pay dearly for the privilege, it seems. Your choices are pony up the measly $20/day in grats on NCL and get served, or shell out over 3x that on RCI. This is a no-brainer.
Wrong. You just pay for the individual drinks without buying the drink package. Not a difficult concept to grasp.

How much does RC charge? Last time I checked it was over $60 per person, per day. It helps to compare apples to apples.
I think the point is that RC cruisers can buy a drink if they don't have the drink package.

How? I don't see how that's possible. How much do you drink? 1 per day? What's the point, LOL? 😊
It's very possible with a port-intensive itinerary. Having 1 or 2 drinks in the evening doesn't add up to much.

Panama Canal cruise cancelled, 4/6/2024 Rhapsody
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
I'm on the May 19th Rhapsody cruise from San Juan...God willing. Maybe Royal will redeploy the affected cruises to San Juan as well. Lots of logistics to be sure.
