Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I sail mainly studio cabins. They have been, in my experience, about $100-200 more than an inside cabin. If I am sailing on a new ship (I am itinerary motivated than ship motivated), I get the studio every time. I like the solo cruiser program for the most part. The solo's and the concierge make the experience better. I like having a lounge with snack and coffee at all times, I like having the happy hours...etc.
  2. Go to the NCL Website, Click on Explore, selected Land and Sea Packages. There will be locations to select from with pictures, you want to click on Mediterranean. Once it takes you to the page, on the tabs that start with "highlights" about 6 tabs across is HOTELS. Civitavecchia - The Piram Hotel, says that it is in Rome's historic center steps for the Opera House and Santa Maria Basilica. it has a list of information such as distance from Airport and Pier and that it includes the room and tax, bellman gratuities, breakfast and transfers between the hotel and pier. It says that you call the number 1.866.234.7350 to book.
  3. The credit, to my understanding is a 'waived' fee. Previously, NCL charged $25 to deviate from day of embarkation/disembarkation. So they basically have waived the fee should you wish to fly in the day before or out after. The transfer fee is completely separate but if you do not need it, you can have it removed. NCL does have hotels in most port cities (not all) that you can call to book through NCL, if you do, they will transfer you to/from the hotel/to/from the port. I have yet to do this because I have found a less expensive hotel and transferred on my own. BUT I am looking at a cruise from Civitivecchia and the hotel that they have listed in Rome is very pretty so I am considering. You will have to click through the website to find it and call. That part is not as user friendly, IMO. That is ok. I enjoy figuring it out. It's VACATION!
  4. Thank you so much for the details, I am grateful!

  6. Hi, I'm considering tbooking the supper club. Has anyone gone post-pandemic? What's it like? Is it worth it as opposed to other activities?
  7. Hi, NCL recently changed its Latitude Rewards. I haven't attended a membership only cocktail party. It says to find out the time/date by going to guest services or maybe cruise next. But has anybody attended post pandemic? Please no response if you attended prior to 2022. What to expect? Dress code? Is it worth it opposed to selecting a different activity?
  8. When you book the free at sea cruise, all of your taxes and fees are charged as part of your total trip costs except that you can choose when to pay your gratuities and extras. You will see the service charge for this on your itemized bill. However, some ports and embarkation ports may require the cruiseline to charge taxes on drinks consumed until the ship reaches international waters. I know for sure that Miami and San Juan requires taxes. The bartenders/dining servers are usually good at telling you this upfront. I was told in the restaurant that we weren't far enough away but by the time I had my next drink we were in the clear. You'll be able to see the tax charges on your account via the app or you can check your account in your cabin on the television. It will depend on the cost of your drink and # of drinks that you consume.
