    Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the pullout bed in the living room of the celebrity suite on the edge series. Is it comfortable enough? Do they put a mattress topper in it?

    Thank you in advance!!

We’ve been in an Edge class Celebrity suite several times.  The pullout bed and also the sofa part are hard as a rock and even a mattress topper couldn’t help.  We always ask for a rollaway bed to be brought in.

Thank you, I will look in to this but I think I recall that when I booked, it said it was refundable up to the time of cancellation.  Would there have been a flag or notation on the flight that would have said otherwise?  Also, we've already selected our seats.  Would this trigger payment?

It’s been a while since I’ve booked through FBC, but there are notations in the different fare classes whether it was refundable or not.  Seat selection won’t trigger payment.

Absolutely, to each their own.  I suppose it's all about what one looks for in a suite lounge.  Yes the chairs were comfortable, but there were never more than a handful of people there in the pre-dinner evening cocktail hours, and there were no hor dourves.  There was just no real social vibe like we have preferred in other ship suite lounge areas.

I guess it's ship dependent. While there's not the small buffet of hors d'oeuvres, like on E class, we are almost always asked if we'd like anything, and the bar servers bring them from the back.  Agree that it can be super quiet, but then again, we like that.

Keep in mind the Eclipse, while it's a lovely ship with a great Retreat staff, is severely lacking in Retreat amenities.  No sun deck (let alone a Retreat pool), and Michael's Club (the Retreat Lounge area) is kind of a dingy place IMO with no snacks (peanuts maybe) and no real vibe to it.

Luminae was great...servers were fantastic, and our butler was teriffic as well.

To each their own, I guess. We love the old Michael's Club vibe on the original S class ships. We find the chairs to be much more comfortable and love the dark wood atmosphere more than the E class ships.

  5. Seems like a lot of hassle and work to get a "free" transfer. I'd just take a taxi. Even though the rate is stated for intra-port transfers inside the taxi, I'd probably still offer the driver the amount it would be to go to the airport as they probably had to wait a while in line to get your fair. Seems like the $20ish you'd spend is well worth not having the stress.

I am trying to remember........do upper level suites pay ala carte?  Our son will be joining us on our next cruise and he inhales sushi 😋  Wanting to know his pricing options!🙃

For RS and above (and Signature in Reflection) there no dollar limit at Sushi on 5.

  7. Also depending on where your tender goes, it may be better anyway to take the ship excursion because the ferry boat docks right by there.  Some ship’s tenders go directly to town, but ours went to Mykonos port, which would require you to take a shuttle to town to catch the ferry to Delos. Our ship excursion left directly from Mykonos port saving the time. With time at a premium sometimes it’s just better to do a ship excursion.

Alexandra,  I have to agree with your assessment of Edge.   Things are just off.   If I could put a finger on it would be the HD and his training of staff.    Celebrity loves to use "Our Most Loyal Guests"  "Modern Luxury" and "Attention to Detail".    Our experience on this ship have missed the mark on all of them.

Out of curiosity, who is the HD?  Did they ever follow up with you with your last issues you sent an attention to detail card saying about acknowledging your concern?

  9. On a recent cruise, the server in the Gelato bar was new and was not aware that the upper suites had unlimited Gelato. One would have thought that was one of the key elements her supervisor would have told her when she started. A quick trip to the retreat host solved the issue, but it's the small things you shouldn't have to raise.

  10. I was on this cruise and was also upset they cancelled the ports as this was the third time trying to get to Israel.  However, I am also glad that Celebrity was able to pivot at such short notice and keep us safe. I can only imagine all of the sleepless nights the backoffice staff and crew had to make sure we still were able to have a great cruise.

I must strongly disagree with your statement “X told everyone they were “working on something” and we would receive an email from X regarding compensation after the cruise ended.”   I was traveling with 3 other suites, including one of the Penthouses.  At no time were any of us told this or provided any information similar to what you’re claiming.  Do you have this in writing? I read the cruise contract while on board and they can substitute ports at anytime with no compensation. None of us expected a goodwill gesture as they provided a 10 night cruise, which is all that's called for in the contract.   In this case, I’m good with that.

this is an old thread and I don’t know if it still exists out there in the aether but, we are going on our cruise on the Reflection in December and as I am having some problems with my iPad was wondering if the Apple Store on the ship had classes or would fix it for me. How much would they charge etc.

The store only sells items. The classes are super basic, if they still have them (like how to use an Ipad). They do not do repairs.
