  1. Great location!! I'm in a starboard balc on 9 towards the aft. Sounds like if I don't catch you at the lido or up on 14 I'll probably see you just upstairs from there at Serenity once we get into warmer weather.⛱️
  2. Hey George! Nice to read here that I will be sailing with you again on the Venezia in December. This will be my third time on board her as I did 10 days last March after the 15 days back in October of '23 when we both sailed on the ship. If you bring any of those fabulous Levain cookies from New York😋onboard again save a couple for me and my friend...Rob
  3. When HAL and corporate owner, Carnival Corporation made the correct decision in late October to cancel and not dock at Fort de France, Martinique on Friday Nov. 1 they may also have given up their position to dock at the main port area today pending possible continued unrest on the island. At least one of the two other ships there today at the main dock may have been bumped up to that position because of this and leaving the Zuiderdam to dock where it did.
  4. Things have settled back down on that island over the last two weeks and an alternative stop(like on Nov 1)at St. Lucia for the Zuiderdam would not have been available today because 3 other ships are in port there today. Two other ships are at the Fort de France cruise terminal this morning, the German Mein Schiff 3, and the Explora II.
  5. For those on the 28 and 21 day segments of this Perfect Caribbean Escape the journey ends for us this morning here in Boston. For those who are staying on or boarding today for the final segment to Fort Lauderdale I wish you all safe travels. Rob
  6. A perfect start for the final full day of this segment of HAL's Perfect Caribbean Escape.
  7. Orange Party tonight at the Rolling Stone Lounge.
  8. I talked with three of the Zuiderdam's rock band members yesterday on the streets of Old San Juan including band leader Danny (guitar, vocals) who said that the band will be together on board until January. I assume that a new band will replace them for the 2025 World Cruise.
  9. No I just used the taxi services to go out to Orient Bay in the morning and then to Maho Beach at midday when the air show starts heating up there. The price decreases significantly with the more people joining in on a taxi ride.
  10. The Mein Schiff 1 here in port with us at Phillipsburg, SM.
  11. Another view of this mornings sunrise over Nevis.
  12. After a day of on and off rain (sometimes heavy)here in Barbados we were treated along with the passengers onboard the Seven Seas Grandeur ship a beautiful sunset.
  13. The Zuiderdam sails to the spice island of Grenada today and will be welcomed as the first cruise ship arrival of their fall/winter season.
  14. From what CD Kim said on stage tonight it sounds like Carnival Corporation has pulled out of Martinique for all of it cruise lines for now.
  15. Looking forward now more than ever to be sailing into beautiful San Juan, Puerto Rico at sunrise on Tuesday morning November 5th on the Zuiderdam.
  16. So the Zuiderdam's revised itinerary of seven consecutive days at port is now as follows: Weds Oct 30: St. George's, Grenada. Thurs Oct 31: Bridgetown, Barbados. Friday Nov1: Castries, St. Lucia. Saturday Nov 2: Pointe A Pitre, Guadelopue. Sunday Nov 3: Basseterre, St. Kitts. Monday Nov 4: Philipsburg, St. Maarten. Tuesday Nov 5: San Juan, Puerto Rico (sadly now referred to by some unjustly as the 'Isle of Garbage' 🙄).
  17. The official letter from Capt. Frank delivered to staterooms onboard this evening announcing the cancelation of the Zuiderdam's visit to Martinique on Friday November 1 due to continued unrest in the country. Instead we will call on Castries, St. Lucia from 8am-5pm that day.
  18. Early morning at the Crows Nest as the Zuiderdam sails towards Grenada, the first of seven consecutive days of island visits.
  19. Sunday sunrise as the Zuidy sails towards Curacao and 90 degrees.🛳🌡
  20. From last night's final performance onboard of pianist Elliot Finkel.
