  1. I found these old Joy Amenity pages, unsure if they still do them. Can compare at least from 6/9/21 and 2/22/22 to wee what they HAD (no idea on what they HAVE NOW). Joy Cabin amenities 2021.pdf
  2. I like and use my PCC for all the questions I have and bookings./additions/changes I usually make pre-cruise. It's just easier than calling the number and getting some random person to help.
  3. The cost of the Haven has skyrocketed lately, which is disconcerting. My wife and I loved our one experience so far in The Haven and wish we could continue to do so, but when it is double or triple the cost of a Club Class Balcony? No thanks. We will stick with our upgraded Balcony for just 1/3 the price. Granted I WILL book the Haven when the price is right.
  4. Yes, is it a good idea to do up-to-date research on any cruise you would want to take. Joy took away the rest of the slight bonuses to these cabins about two years ago or so. Unlike the Jewel class, the "suites" on the Joy have nothing special except size, location, and feel. We too also upgraded from the SC we had booked to first an HI then bid to an HE. IMHO, I wish NCL would make all "suites" the exact same across the fleet so a passenger would know what to expect, no matter what the ship. I don't mind if they keep the "suite" name as a differentiation, as long as all suites get the same perks.
  5. Thanks for the review. Just so you know, you might have just called out and perhaps insulted an entire group with the "letter writers" comment, as that is a very specific thing here. Perhaps you never read this forum before?
  6. Is that a special invite offer, as it's from an email? I can get close to that on the UK site but says nothing about air transport or transfers. At least on European cruises, your pricing is MUCH lower than what we get via the US NCL site. I'm slightly jealous. 🤑
  7. Welcome to Cruise Critic. In case you haven't figured it out yet, topics rarely stay on a single topic no matter how much the whiners and complainers want it to. 🙄
  8. So that's about $2700. Nice. I think this is about the same cuise on the US side:
  9. It's a crapshoot. We've been to Alaska 8 times now, mostly in August but once in May. We had beautiful but cool weather in May, whereas the week before was cold and rainy. August cruising has worked wonderfully for us, but we've been lucky. Per the crew on several cruises, both the week before and the week after were windy and rainy. We live in the Pacific Northwest, so we are used to it. 😉
  10. My memory may be faulty, but I think you have to upgrade when you first board the ship before you buy any drinks. Can anyone confirm or dispute this? I may be recalling the guide/rules to some other cruise line. 😏
  11. The best weather is late June through early September. July is considered the warmest.
  12. Thanks. The 'drinkgate' threads have me worn out. 🙄🤣😏
  13. Not really. Just look and find posts where they have proclaimed "I'm a Platinum/Saphire/Diamond and NCL doesn't __________!" Read these posts all the time. While NCL certainly appreciates return customers, they just want bodies in those cabins. And they want to sell more stuff to those bodies in those cabins in any way they can. But this happens in ALL cruise lines. Just visit other forums. Same complaints.
  14. Does anyone recall getting a "fast" breakfast from American Diner pre-pandemic? At least on the Breakaway+ ships?
  15. Wow. Complaining over a few wines and selections, then claiming cheating and fraud by NCL. 🙄 Good luck on some other cruise lines. 👋
  16. Is it just me, or does most of your replies almost sound like weird haikus? 😂
  17. We found those in the Haven Restaurant. OMG. I feel my happiness and blood sugar spiking just thinking about them. 🤩
  18. Yep, me too. But it's not so much as booking as it is in moving a booking due to my wife's schedule and our pocketbook (or lack thereof). I did book a nice 2025 Mexico cruise in the Haven though, so hoping that one won't change!
  19. Can someone just close this thread already? 🙄
  20. If I remember my bidding last time, you get to bid on the specific Haven categories you may want. So only bid on the HE/HF/H5/H6/H2 categories that are in the Haven proper and avoid the Aft and Forward cabins.
  21. They don't. Only Hotel shuttle buses do that, not NCL themselves. If the Hotel is part of a package from NCL, they will transfer you from the Hotel to the ship on the day of. At the end of the cruise, they will transfer you via bus to the airport if you've paid for that transfer too. (FWIW - Most Airlines don't let you check in your bags 2-4 hours before the flight, so be prepared to stand by with your bags if you arrive early.) We've done this several times.
  22. Carnival Tropical, sometime in the mid 80's.
  23. I believe the Bliss has the smallest of the Vibe areas. I think there is only one hot tub, as the 19th deck is divided in 1/2 public and 1/2 Vibe (similar to Escape).
  24. When you bid they assign you a cabin of their choice if your win. You are just charged for the upgrade and given a new room number. We recently bid and won an inside to a balcony on our Alaska sailing. Also, bid and won a Haven to another Haven on our last Mexico cruise. We've been lucky I guess on our bids.
  25. Lol, we have that same suite booked for 2025. Enjoy!
