So how does EU law have anything to do with US ports and local US port taxes or fees?

Same in Seattle, LA, and San Diego, on both NCL and Princess. Your drink will always have a cost associated with it (it's shown on each menu). Tax for each US port is based on that. However, I have no idea how it works in the EU or UK.

Does the UK still follow all EU laws and regulations? As the UK worked very hard to totally separate itself from the EU.

Sorry this is happening to you. We never use the NCL air program, as it takes too much out of our hands for some slightly cheaper flights. Hope this works out, otherwise, with your current mindset, this entire cruise is just going to suck for you at all levels. I presume it's too late to cancel?

Totally agree. Our original room was an HI but we bid and got into the HE for a good price. My wife prefers the room in the Haven itself, as it it is more "convenient" to just exit the room and you are already there. Out of the 11 or so Haven categories, only 4 don't have that tub/shower combo. They are: HG Forward facing, HB/C aft balcony, H5/6 2 bedroom, and the H2 Owners. Everything else has that tub combo. The majority of the HI, HH, and HJ rooms were once Concierge Suites in the Asian market, which I believe prefers tubs.

Your PCC is the same group of people that answer the phones when you call in. So they can get quite busy. I like the one I have, but it can take a bit for him to answer emails.

Fantastic! So I presume you are looking at one of the 2-bedroom family villas (H5 and H6)? I wanted to stay in one of those JUST for the master bath, but it was too big and too pricey. We had an HE Courtyard Penthouse, and it would have been perfect except for that stupid shower/tub combo, which sadly is in most of the Haven suites. Just booked a Forward Facing one myself on Joy for early 2025..

Last May in Vancouver they were very adamant about check-in times for Princess. They were kicking people out of the line when they saw they were not scheduled in that queue at that time. Lots of "Karens" and "Chads" voiced their disapproval that day. 🙄

I ran into this same booking issue for Taste/Manhattan for our June Bliss sailing, where the reservations kept disappearing from the cart. However, I received the dining update email from NCL that shows I have all those reservations I was trying to do. Now I only have one night that is unassigned, which we will wait to be on the ship to decide (and maybe try to move some of those late seatings an hour or so forward, as 8:30 PM is pretty late for us).

They just accepted our upgrade bid from an Inside IF to a Midship Balcony BA!! On Bliss for late June to Alaska.

And we are just tying to reach Gold at this point. 😂

Was on one of the first sailings for the Discovery Princess. Had medium seas on the way to Alaska (early May cruise). The ship creaked like an old house while it pitched around. Was worse on the lower decks. Spoke to some crew, and they said it was really bad on their decks. Asked an engineer and they said it was just the modules built inside the ship acclimating to their locations. Nothing for them to fix except time.

Had this same problem with Princess a while back. I didn't specify my middle initial when linking a CC, which did have my middle initial on it, unlike some other cards. Didn't figure it out until we hit the minimum for using cash when they stopped me from purchasing.

Joy is one of the best ships to try a Haven Suite as it has so many choices. Just remember that many are not in the Haven proper (not just the aft and forward suites). We loved our Haven experience EXCEPT for the stupid shower/tub in our Penthouse room. It feels odd and overprivileged to me, but the Priority tender part is weird. I just feel odd getting put in front of everyone else, but you did pay for that perk. 😏

This is making me wish I was rich so I could get back into the Haven on our Alaskan cruise this June, but the $10K+ price is just a bit rich for our budget at this time. Personally, I liked breakfast the most, especially the Eggs Benedict. I need to try that crab cake option next time. really trying to get to New Orleans next year to do the Breakaway to the Western Caribbean and Mexico. The First Class (we are plus-sized people so we prefer the wider seats) flights from Seattle cost almost as much as a Haven booking!

We did the couple's message (some Salt rubdown one) on Joy. My wife loved it, but I did not as I don't like face-down messages. We did buy part of the hard-sell Elemis products (we both like Elemis) as wifey loved the salt they used. If money isn't a barrier, go for it.
