Was able to get the grocery shopping done before the crowds came. It looks like we will not get the rain we thought we would so I will have to water and get the weeds out of the garden. I just have to move out some of the big furniture. Somewhat sad as I had been in that office since I started my clinical practice five years ago. Working from home is fine, it can be a challenge at times especially when Fancy wants attention, and I am seeing a client. I had a breakthrough with my dissertation. It has been many years since I took my research classes and I have been relearning statistical analysis. With the help of YouTube, I figured out how to work with the data and I am now getting the last two chapters done. Whew! What a relief! Thinking of all on the care list. Black Bean Soup sounds yummy but not on a hot day like today. Spending the day grading assignments and other work. 93 days to go until my cruise. I will sailing Canada/New England on a 10-day trip from Quebec on October 9th. I will be sailing on the NCL Sky which is a small ship. My sister and I will have an aft balcony for the first time. I will see how it compares to regular balcony cabins. Our goal this trip is to try local foods in every port we go to. Cannot wait! Thinking of all on the care list. We put fans out at full blast to help drown the noise out as they were shooting them so close to the house. Now, the law here states that you cannot shoot fireworks off within 150 feet of a dwelling. Well, the house here are very close but who follows the law? My guess is that the fireworks will continue throughout the weekend. I have my rescheduled massage this morning which is badly needed. I am surprised that it hasn't started yet as many in the neighborhood set them off early. I have been giving Fancy some calming treats for the past several days. Not sure if it works. They popped up all around my community, but we never saw any. Go some work done in the garden. The plants are suffering so my sister and I created some shade for them. We homesteaders have to improvise sometimes. I am finding the best time to get outdoor work done is in the evening. Of course I strained my wrist a little and will be wearing a brace today as I have a lot of computer work to do today.
