Happy Thursday. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports. Settling in for a long heat wave. Highs in the 90s today. I had planted an herb garden but most of the plants did not make it with this heat. I have been trying to keep them watered. The grass has gone dormant. The electric company is warning about possible power outages. Staying inside is the thing to do. We are in need of rain as well. Welcome to summer. Thinking of all on the care list. Happy Tuesday everyone. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports. It is hot here. We are beginning a very long heat wave. Expecting 90 today and temperatures in the 90s well into next Thursday. I have to keep an eye on Fancy because she loves laying in the sun, I have to make her come in. I will also be watering the plants almost every day. I dislike summer very much. I have a meeting, a client, grading of assignments and finishing the results section of my dissertation. Thinking of all on the care list. Good Monday morning. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports. It will be a hot one today. Blazing sun as we head into a heat wave. A week of temperatures in the 90s. Looks like I will be watering the garden quite frequently. Getting back on track after traveling last week. Ended two classes so grading final assignments will take most of my day. The system has been down for one of the universities and I cannot access the classroom there. A new class starts today. I am seeing larger class sizes. No increase in pay though. Oh well. Good Sunday morning. Thanks for the daily and fleet reports. Happy Father's Day! Heading into a bit of a heat wave this week. Highs in the upper 80s and 90s. Looks like summer showed up early. Yesterday I washed all the curtains, living room furniture covers, and bedding. Today I will finish with the garden. My family will have a little get together via Zoom this afternoon. Good Friday morning. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports. I have returned from my trip to Charlotte. The conference was a great experience. Was so busy that I have not had a chance to catch up with CC. My presentation was a success as well. Met lots of wonderful colleagues. Today, its back to work. I have to grade final papers for one class. I start a new class next week of 20 students. I think this university where I teach is hiring less adjuncts and increasing class sizes. While away, I was able to make reservations for dining for my cruise on the NCL Sky in October. 117 days to go. I have read a lot of people complaining about this ship, on all cruise lines really. I am not a fancy person so, if there is food, I will eat it. I will always find something good to eat on a cruise ship. Next year will be Eurodam to Alaska. Who knows where in 2026. There could be a transatlantic. Maybe? Thinking of all on the care list. Celebrating with all who are celebrating. Have a safe and healthy day.

I looked outside today after waking up to find that a racoon had pulled down and destroyed two bird feeders and dumped the waste bucket we have for composting. Busy little creatures. I was in Canada/New England on the NCL Pearl in 2022 and will be going back this October on the NCL Sky. I love Canada/New England. My first cruise was a 7-day Boston round trip. This was my very first cruise ever. I went with my sister. We sailed from Boston, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Portland, Bar Harbor, and back to Boston. The ports were all very walkable with Bar Harbor being a tender port. With the exception of Boston (it poured), the weather was beautiful. Lots to see in the ports. We chose not to book excursions because we like to do things ourselves. Our cruise coming up is a 10-day cruise sailing from Quebec. Very excited about this as I have never been to Quebec. This trip we will be seeing Quebec, Saguenay, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Portland, Boston, and finally Baltimore. We have a couple of excursions planned this time around, but we will just walk the ports. My sister and I are in our 60s and loved just walking around and seeing the sites. I guess it depends on what interests you. The ports were so beautiful, and we did see the fall colors

She had it before I adopted her, and her vet says this is either the same infection that was not treated appropriately or this is a new infection. She is not showing symptoms, but we have to watch her kidneys as they can be impacted by the disease. Nothing else planned for today except the usual paperwork. Thinking of all on the care list.
