  1. Have a few stiff drinks and Oasis lagoon and you will end up in the water sooner or later. Trust me.
  2. Limited amount of shopping, but I will say their logo store is better stocked that Adventure or Oasis which we have sailed this year.
  3. What week is that? We are Canadian so I'm not familiar with it. Trying to make sure it isn't our week for Anthem OTS.
  4. We went on our very first cruise in Jan of this year out of Baltimore and have another booked out of Bayonne in Feb of 2023. Absolutely loved cruising in Jan, I am sure Feb will be just the same for us. We like getting out of the cold gradually and coming back into it gradually. A little less intense then going to all inclusive that time of year.
  5. Having never been on a cruise before Jan of this year and really knowing nothing of cruising I had no idea this was a thing. To those that have been around cruising this may sound odd but I really never paid any attention to what goes on a cruise ship. About my only notion was perhaps a movie. Fast forward to our first cruise on Enchantment. In the centrum there is art hung all over the place. Now before we took our cruise we did lots of watching youtube etc and had seen mention of these auctions. The 'art director' saw me on day one and approached offering free 'champagne' etc to attend one of the auctions. All of sudden it hit me, people actually do attend these things and do buy this art. They wouldn't take up so much valuable space if they didn't. I was gobsmacked seeing it person! Needless to say we didn't attend any auction and are not planning on it. 100% to each their own, but I don't cruise to buy artwork or buy gold chain by the inch. Now I am not judging in any way those who do. Some of the impulse buys in a shop or on a promenade I can understand, but buying art on a cruise? Nope, lost on me.
  6. We are 3 for 3 with Royal Up. Got our upgrade on Oasis less than 48 hours before sail away last month. She does play hard to get but sometimes you get 'lucky'.
  7. Happy to say I enjoyed more than one Kummelwick on Oasis last week!
  8. For what it is worth we took our first ever cruise in Jan of this year; ironically from MyVegas which we only had to pay taxes and port fees on (8 nights). My wife made prime on that first sailing. Our total loss was roughly 700 USD. Now at that time we only had to reach 1600 points. We took another COMP'd sailing in May of this via casino offer (5 nights). We made it back to just shy of 1/3 the way to prime again on that short sailing. Just under 800 points. We were actually up on that trip slightly in the casino. We are taking our next sailing less than 30 days from now (7 night) which is yet another casino offer. Then we have one more booked for Feb of next year (surprise) via casino offer. We will likely make prime again on our Sept sailing. Now have been traveling to Vegas for many, many years so we are very familiar with the COMP game and the potential pitfalls. Of course there are those that are just uninformed that will tell you that it will cost thousands and thousands to make prime. That isn't the case, BUT of course it is called gambling for a reason. We have strict budgets and know how to stay within them. When we compare RCCL to land based casinos in terms of COMP value, RCCL has a slight edge right now. Not a huge edge but an edge nonetheless. When all is said and done though if you can't gamble what you can fully afford to lose AND consider it entertainment just gambling to get COMP is not wise and it will not work out in the long run. To each their own.
  9. We have a 7 day on Oasis on Sept 18. One less obstacle.
  10. Stateroom 7311. We had a view of Boleros and the champagne bar. We were above guest services.
  11. We were on this sailing in late May, as mentioned it varied from VERY formal, to VERY informal. Wear what you are comfortable with.
  12. We sailed in Jan of this year during the height of the Omnicron variant. Being from Canada we also at the time needed a PCR to return home so we were quite concerned. We had my time and on our first night visited the maitre d and asked for a 2 top that was somewhat distanced if possible. It took a little bit of time to arrange the first night but we had the same table each night and we felt incredibly safe and spaced from others. Now I will say we were NOWHERE near capacity so that went a long way. This might prove a little tougher now. I might suggest the later seating of traditional would be easier to swing something like this.
  13. Definitely appreciate your honest and matter of fact review. We were on Adventure for a Bermuda sailing back in late May and I guess I didn't look close enough at the ship as I thought it was in fine shape. We very much enjoyed our sailing. I would agree with you that the MDR food was not up to par. Can't comment on any specialty dining as my wife and I have never eaten in one. We really thought the CD did a good job though. She was lively and fun. Also she had quite the set of pipes if you ever hear her sing. Cheers!
  14. We had our first on Enchantment on our first cruise and really enjoyed them. They weren't served on Adventure on our May sailing and we missed them. Not a huge deal, but we hope they are served on Oasis.
  15. A bit of a follow up here, after probably 10 calls this is all sorted out. We FINALLY reached a knowledgeable CSR a few weeks ago. She confirmed that she saw notes on our C & A account that calls were made but all the cases had nothing done with them. She discovered that there was a third C & A number that somehow existed and/or got created somehow and the tier points were sitting in that account. She gave us the number of tier credits and it made sense. She said they would merge the accounts and our tier credits should show up within 2 weeks. Well last night they finally did. A mere 48 days after the sailing... Now we had still been getting offers regularly posted to our account so this was more annoying than anything else. Persistence pays off I suppose.
  16. Your thoughts pretty much echo what we experienced on the same itinerary back in late May, minus the man-o-war. Thanks for the review.
  17. Are there are chair hogs in the smoking section of the casino??? (couldn't help it)....
  18. 240 points minimum actually. If you win and continue to spin based off those wins it can add up to more than that.
  19. All through Google Meets. No preregistration for anything. In our case we used my windows laptop with a webcam.
  20. Gambling... We have never once paid the base fair for any sailings. We have 2 more full COMP on the books right now, one in Sept and one in Feb of 2023. For what its worth we don't lose LOTS of money, we have a very strict budget and we made prime on our first cruise back in Jan of this year with about a 650 loss. Now at the time it was only 1600 points, now it is back to 2500. However we are almost 1/2 way there for this year. We rarely budget more than about 200 USD per day and rarely spend the entire budget for the day. On our sailing last month we actually left about 40 up. At one point we were down about 750, but had a swing of luck and ended up for the trip.
  21. We did a promenade view on floor 7, above guest services last month and loved our stateroom. The light coming in was a huge plus. We enjoyed people watching through the window also. It is definitely true staterooms opposing yours the pax have a great view in your stateroom so be aware of that. This sailing was a casino comp and this stateroom was a VERY cheap Royal Up from our original inside stateroom. We would happily booked one again.
  22. The Casino Royale site is offline due to maintenance. We were on a call with them earlier today and they mentioned until the maintenance was done they could not bring up any offers.
