Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. 100 shares of Carnival stock ownership also applies to Princess and Holland America which are also Carnival properties
  2. @MarEll1 I just uploaded some pictures of the cabin to cruisedeckplans.com If unfamiliar with that site, it is a good place to research cabin choices for most any ship in any fleet.
  3. This only a guess but there ample amount of space to leave one bed near the pole and separate the other bed away from it. The cabin is larger than a "normal" Sky Suite. The other drawback is more the case of this being an older ship before the proliferation smart phones and other devices needing to be charged. There are only 2 outlets in the cabin, both under the desk. If booking this cabin (and from the USA 🙂 ) bring a European style plug and perhaps a voltage adapter. We have a one that has 3 USB ports and 2 US style outlets. It supplies 220 volts though. Our 2 CPAP machine power supplies do handle 220 volts so we used for just them. We brought magnetic hooks to route the cord on the ceiling There is also a lamp on the pole side of the bed that has 2 USB ports to use as well. We have read that Celebrity does not allow guests to bring their own extension cords. We asked for and were provided a cord and the cabin steward volunteered a gallon of distilled water, no charge.
  4. There is another thread on the corner suites in general. I posted this: We have been in 9301 (port side corner aft sunset suite) and we loved it. Yes there was a pole in the cabin about 6 inches from the bed (see the attached picture). It was on my side of the bed at about my knee, and was not an issue. On a rough sea day it was helpful to have it to steady myself after just waking as the ship was rolling a bit. If standing at the railing you could see balconies below but sitting nothing but ocean and the wake. I am sure those above could see us if we were both at the railing. I never gave it thought though. We wouldn’t hesitate to book it again I think the biggest drawback is the long walk from the closest elevators to our cabin. At the beginning of the cruise it was no big deal. As the 10 night cruise progressed it became a bother, but certainly not a deal breaker. However, if you forget something and have to go back to retrieve it, it would be a bigger issue. Thankfully, we never had that happen.
  5. Usually the earlier you check in the more boarding time windows are available. The first or earliest boarding windows tend to go first. Those time windows also attract the longest lines as many people try to do pier checkin regardless of what their boarding time window is
  6. If you also have an account at Royal Caribbean with the same user name, they share the same authentication data. If you change the password for either, that same password must also be used for both as well.
  7. I was well aware when the post was made. My response was intended to be informational. There are still those who will find this thread from a search response and not realize it's age. The hotel reopened as The Dagny Hotel in August, 2023.
  8. You should call Celebrity. Any answers you get from social media are anecdotal at best;
  9. Hilton sold that property and it is now The Dagny Hotel.
  10. The title says it all. This was a concern of ours as first time in an aft facing cabin. Silhouette, aft corner Sunset Sky Suite
  11. On our first Celebrity cruise with a beverage package (2015) that is what they did for us, left the bottle on the table. No more….

  13. Is the laundering of the clothes the same for both choices (hot water wash and high heat dry) with the difference being folding or pressing? Given the baggage fees charged these days by some airlines packing carry on only may make Celebrity's laundry service cost effective.
  14. I tried scan each subsequent post in the topic. I also scanned other topic pages as far back as Thursday of last week. Unless I missed one, I find it interesting no one else on the ship reported any issue with sewage. Is the OP the only one on the ship with internet access AND know about this forum? I ask because we are on Silhouette in the very near future.
  15. The cancellation policy is presented when the cruise is booked. If one doesn't take the time to read it then one shouldn't be surprised when it is enforced.
