  1. I didn’t say that Prima had cabanas. I was saying after sailing Prima, I would definitely do a cabana on Viva if offered.
  2. I find your perspective very interesting, and I like the way you’re thinking. We always book a balcony (since I believe I am claustrophobic), but rarely really use it for any amount of time. Personally, having sailed Prima, I would take s Vibe Cabana in a heartbeat. Hurry…get that cabana booked before it’s gone. Drop your bid for balcony.
  3. @vacation44 IKR. With our discounts, our 4 excursion total for two is $1750, and we haven’t even added the post cruise for Seward to Anchorage. We did FAS+ this time to get the extra $50 ($40 for Platinum) discount. That plus two people with unlimited internet, and two more specialty dinners, it just made sense this cruise.
  4. For your planning pleasure😊. Gosh…4-7 am, that’s early. I’m impressed you can scratch bake.
  5. I bet you are🥰 It is for two…lol, I guess my thrifty gene kicked in. That, and we’ve already purchased three other excursions on the pricey side…but not nearly this high. Thank you for your first-hand experience…and, that you booked based on @YVRteacher reco. On our first AK cruise on Bliss in May 2022, we had a similar excursion booked to do small boat to Dawes Glacier…at a price of $249 pp. Unfortunately, there was too much ice and the excursion was cancelled. The Bliss couldn’t even round the corner to see the glacier. Here is a picture of what we saw☹️
  6. IKR… it’s really gone up in price I think. Have you ever done such an excursion?
  7. Nice credentials! Once a planner, always a planner. Have an awesome time with your crew!
  8. @YVRteacher I just noticed the Hubbard Glacier small boat excursion is now showing up as an option for our 5/13 cruise. Wow…it’s pricey. With our Latitude discount and $50 pp credit it is still $628. I realize this question is subjective, but what are your thoughts on the value of this excursion?
  9. You had me right there! Looking forward to your “exploits” as @cruiseny4life coined them.😊 We also loved the Prima. However, with the size of your group, finding seating at times may be more challenging than a couple would have. From your screen name, I suspect you’ve already planned for this! Wishing you a fun-filled cruise…and May you burn off any extra calories from non-stop laughter😊
  10. @Mark_T do you happen to know if you book onboard and pay a $398 deposit, does that count towards on-board spending for VC points?
  11. I will be helping my SIL do her online checkin in a few days. She doesn’t have a passport. Does she just use her driver’s license number snd dates?
  12. Yup…that’s what happens when you get a year old post. May 2023, Prima went to the rotating menu as other NCL ships. We were on the first Prima cruise to have the rotation and we were quite happy about the change.
  13. I offered the hack info. If you have not already booked Seward to Vancouver, consider the 5/13 Vancouver to Seward. On Delta, if you did the following, you could get your airfare for about $1000 pp total. And, the layovers are limited to DTW only, I believe. Same day multi city. 5/11. ALB to SEA, SEA to YVR. Two nights in Vancouver. $550 Multi city. 5/20 ANC to SEA overnight in SEA, 5/21. SEA to ALB $500 just a consideration. Good luck!
  14. To double down on what others have said. I definitely recommend the one way on the Jewel. We did Bliss last year in mid May and there was too much ice for Dawes Glacier. And, the Bliss and Encore have very short port times. We are re-doing AK thus May on the Jewel, Vancouver to Seward. We are doing the Deadliest Catch excursion in Ketchikan (have read great reviews) and also a whale watching trip in Juneau. I want to be up close to those whale tails. re: airfare. I found a hack that saved me several hundred dollars on the Delta app. I booked a same day multi city. ATL to SEA, SEA to YVR for $297 pp. if I booked ATL to YVR (which also had a SEA layover), the lowest fare is $850. Then I booked a one way ANC to ATL on the return. That flight cost $359. I don’t know what airport you’re flying out of…but if Delta services it, try my booking tip and see if it works for you.
  15. Hey thanks…I just looked at our November cruise and our $50 pp is now showing, along with our promotional OBC. Nice benefit! Does anyone know if the OBC can be used in the casino?
  16. I asked a similar question not too long ago. It is my understanding, based on the responses I got here on CC, along with the MSC terms & conditions, is your $50 OBC will be applied to your account while on the ship. MSC Terms: Silver, Gold and Diamond members receive an additional €/$50 shipboard credit on top of their discount on their Voyages Selection booking. Shipboard credit is issued per member and not per cabin. Shipboard credit is applied to the final bill at the end of the cruise. Shipboard credit does not apply to MSC Voyagers Club members under 18 years old. Also, make sure your booking confirmation shows your cruise as a Voyager Exclusive.
  17. Asking for a friend…really😊. On the Seashore, is there a cigar bar? Also where are the public smoking areas?
  18. Which was likely sponsored by a newspaper. I miss the newspapers of the past! Everything you needed to know that day (and not more)…right there in your hands in back and white! The Editor’s bias…the Op-ed, the comics…and the ever-engaging classified ads. Aaah, the days before the internet…where each of us are Editor and Critic.
  19. Personally, I’m easily entertained since I can’t sing, dance, or do acrobatics. I’m not funny, but know how to laugh. Therefore, provide me with nightly options, every night, that include a variety of quality performers. Don’t make me wait 2 hours for a SRO venue, and don’t make me pay extra to enjoy the show. And. Most importantly..,don’t drop the entertainment options I thought we were getting right after you take the final payment.
  20. @graphicguy Buy the GF a “wish you were here” gift/s. Jewelry, perfume, chocolate 🥰
  21. Yes…we’re right there with you, We just booked a quick getaway for end of February on the seashore. We’re not in the frigid north…but it has been extra cold here in the south! Those pens are very nice. I love a nice pen and pad.
  22. @wolft927 @deb2139 how was parking at Terminal 10. We are sailing 2/29.
  23. Yay…how awesome to score Speakeasy access. Can’t wait to hear about your experience!! I’ve seen a few videos and it looks like those stairs are interesting! Especially going back up. 🤣. Did you feel claustrophobic at all? oh yeah…how did you get them(if you can tel…lol)?
  24. Both of our VC numbers show on the booking confirmation. However the only OBC that shows is the promotional amount. The VC OBC was for booking a Voyager Exclusive cruise…which says it is applied at end of cruise 🤷‍♀️
