  1. So, does the priority check in line for 4/5* an CO still exist at the terminals?
  2. Hi All. Hate to bring this thread back, but a popular YouTube cruise personality just posted a video regarding this topic and mentioned HAL specifically. I know that comments above seem to indicate that nobody is aware of someone getting bumped from HAL. Has anyone heard of anything like this happening on HAL recently?
  3. Thanks for your suggestions. It's my jump to 4*, so a decent jump in benefits that I'd like to take advantage of without numerous trips to the font desk.
  4. Mine still hasn't posted either (Rotti 12/3-12/15), and I'm in the same position - stuck between star levels until it posts. I've also received the same lip service from the mariner society that things will be sorted out by "the end of the week" or by "Jan. 8" that others are posting here. My wife sent an inquiry today and I'll send another next week, but it doesn't seem like HAL gives a squat about this at all. My question is, what should I do if it's not updated by the time my next cruise leaves (mid - March)? I will not be able to take advantage of the higher level star benefits, as their system will still think I'm the lower star level. I don't want to have to fight for these benefits in the middle of a cruise.
  5. This has happened to us too. I always take a pic of the TV screen (account statement) before leaving the room, but when HAL pulls what I call the "HAL 2-Step" there's very little you can do to settle the issue until post cruise. I suspect that the minibar charges (at the very end of cruise) are a result to poor stock/room prep by the room stewards from the previous cruise.
  6. Yep. I was on the Rotterdam 12/3-12/15 too. Still no cruise history updates. I called the mariner society today about another issue and decided to ask about this. They say that there is a "system error" affecting this voyage, which is preventing the accounts from being totaled and posted. The rep also claimed that this issue is known to HAL's stellar IT department, and they expect resolution by January 8th. I assume January 8th of 2024 (not 2025), but I'm not holding my breath.
  7. Hi, everyone. We are regular HAL cruisers but leaving this week on our first back-to-back booking on the same ship. Does anyone know how that works? We did not get the same room assignment. Can we leave our luggage on the ship? Are we allowed to disembark? Are we required to disembark? Do cruisers treat the dis/embarkation port as a port day and spend most of the day ashore, or do you need to board early as in a typical embarkation? We will be on the Zaandam in Montreal. Thanks for any advice and expert knowledge!
  8. So sweet of you to ask! They didn't find the earring, but it was more sentimental than expensive, so no harm done. She's equally happy with the duty free Scotch, I think.
  9. I disembarked from the Rotterdam this morning. Yesterday, my wife went to guest services to see if an earring she lost had been turned in. The lady next to her came up and asked for a printed copy of her statement, and then requested that the guest services representative remove all of her crew appreciation charges. We were appalled. Is this typical? Do the rest of us end up paying more to cover these miserly types? (Sort of like costs going up at Home Depot because people steal at the self checkout, so you pay whether you are honest or a thief?) I know that there is a very active thread about the declining quality of the cruise experience, but we have had truly excellent service on all of our HAL cruises. I have cruised with HAL for more than 20 years at this point, and that is one area that has not declined. For the record, we gave that lady a nasty look, though we refrained from saying, "Happy Holidays to you too!" 🙂
