  1. Is U124 after?

I saw on a YouTube video that the Imagination doesn't have a thermostat in the cabin and only has a dial on the ceiling.  Is this still the case?  I wasn't sure if this was an old video.

Also, saw no hair dryers or refrigerators.    I have eye drops that should be refrigerated.

    Thanks!

  2. That link says this.

Electronic cigarettes cannot be used in public areas where there is a No Smoking policy in force; simply because these cigarettes look so realistic and therefore other guests' perception is that we are not enforcing the No Smoking rule.

I didn’t see anything about stateroom or balcony.

Basically in public because it looks like a cigarette not because it smells.

  4. If I understand correctly' date=' your first question is whether the hotel shuttle will pick you up at the airport after the cruise IF you choose to take some form of transportation back there. The answer is yes, and you won't need to provide a flight number in most cases (although many do ask for this on their web site). The usual instruction from the hotel is to collect your luggage and call them from your cell. They will specify an arrival point and pick you up in about 10 minutes. If it is a hotel that the bus just does continuous round trips, that's even easier. But yes, you can fake a flight number if you need to.

As to return transportation...Uber will take you from the terminal at San Pedro directly to the hotel--no need to get involved in the LAX mess and change to a hotel shuttle. It will also probably be a little cheaper for the Uber to not get into LAX proper.

The "protection" in using Princess transportation is minimal on your return trip and actually not a big deal if you are coming in a day before. I'd look at cost and convenience. Uber is about the same cost as a private shuttle, and far more convenient. Again, the morning of the cruise, they'll pick you up at the hotel--no need to return to LAX on the hotel shuttle to catch Princess or Super Shuttle or whatever. I've never had a bad Uber experience in LA...I guess they exist, but I've been lucky.[/quote']

We just took supershuttle $32 for 2 plus bags to our SP hotel. They had a free shuttle to port. Do not stay in LA. Too far and tons of traffic.

We got in late so we stayed at the vagabond it was OK it was cheap clean and had a free continental breakfast free shuttle to the port and right next-door was a really good inexpensive Japanese restaurant it’s served a purpose. It wasn’t fancy but it wasn’t a dump either and for just to eat and sleep it was perfect

  5. Don’t people of certain cultures eat domesticated horses, cattle, dogs, cats, kangaroo, baby cows, baby lambs, monkeys, other mammals, and sea life. That must be cruel as well. Animals and sea creatures have feelings, and it must be horrible for them at the moment when they are being slaughtered by humans.

I read in some culture a live monkey’s head is placed in a hole in a dinner table, then have their head split open for diner guests to feast on the monkey’s brain.

And in certain European western cultures it is common to serve horse meat, baby lamb, baby cows, or kangaroo at gourmet restaurants in countries like France, Australia, New Zealand, USA, and UK.

Maybe cruisers/tourists should boycott those countries and not support those cultures that are cruel to animals?

    Enjoy your cruise.

Sorry but your post is ridiculous. We are NOT saying to boycott the country or city. We are saying don’t ride on an elephant because its abusive to the animal. It has nothing to do with their culture it’s a matter of whether or not you want to contribute to being abusive to an animal. If I go to China I’m not going to eat a dog just because it might be their culture. Some Mexicans excuse cock fighting as ok because it's their culture but it's very abusive and illegal in the states.

  6. Hi.

This May will be our 1st cruise on Princess. Have cruised Celebrity, Norwegian and Royal in the past.

We usually bring mugs that we can fill at the buffet stations and/or order room service for the mornings. We like the occasional cappuccino. We are not coffee fanatics but definitely need a daily fix.

Please advise Princess options. Should we get the coffee card? Can it be shared for "brewed" coffee?

I got the coffee card several weeks ago and ordered a brewed coffee and hot chocolate without questioning but don’t know how it would have been if I ordered two brewed.

Honestly I wasn’t that impressed with the brewed. If you don’t use all your punches up you can save it for another cruise. The brewed wont work on another cruise just the specialty.

    What ship?

  7. Being a bit suspicious about elephant rides is entirely justified. Elephants are "tamed" (a better word would be "tortured") for them to allow people to ride them. Elephants are different from horses. I hope they also offer tours that bring you close to elephants in the wild, which I know is an experience that you will never forget :)

I totally agree about being tortured. If she saw how the elephants are so-called tamed, it would make her sick.

  8. Hello,

I'm booked on a Princess cruise in Asia, and have been looking at the shore excursions offered. A number of them include an elephant ride. It sounds both exciting and scary to me. But I'm mainly wondering about the ethics involved. Is this hard on the elephants? Are they treated well? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has knowledge of this subject. Thank you in advance.

    PLEASE don’t ride any elephants.

A new report by World Animal Protection titled Taken For A Ride says that 3 in 4 elephants in tourist entertainment venues around Asia are living in poor, unacceptable welfare conditions.

    Read this website.

  9. This was our 4th cruise (Carnival Holiday, MSC Poesia, Princess Grand, Carnival Triumph) in 15 years...so, I am no expert. We seem to end up on older ships. We are not picky...but, I was a little worried with the Triumph reviews....so, wanted to share our thoughts.

Yes, it could use an update but, that does not bother us at all. We loved the ship....and had a great time. We had a balcony on deck 7...in the front & we did feel a good bit of rocking/swaying...but, neither of us get seasick so it did not bother us. The cabin had plenty of room for us...balcony was small. Our balcony on the Grand was huge so, it's hard to go back to a small one....but, we survived :). The couch was pretty old so, I just covered it with a beach towel. Beds were very comfortable.

This was our 1st cabin not in the middle of the ship....I will go back to that just for walking purposes. I swear that hallway got longer & longer when returning from the back of the ship ...(we are in our late 50's so, that could be part of it..LOL)

Things we did on the ship.....

    •
    • Comedians were very funny (especially the age 18+ shows) we went to most of the shows....helpful hint: it was standing room only so, go at least 30 min. ahead of time to get a seat. But, even if you are standing, the shows don't last that long.

    • Magician show was just ok....I enjoyed it more than my DH.

    • Karaoke was fun most of the time...until the young drinkers took over the dance floor when they thought it was funny to do dirty/funny dancing but really they couldn't dance...more of just acting silly (well, drunk)

    • Liverpool Band doing Classic Rock was awesome but, almost too loud for us. And the place was not even half full...I felt bad for the band because it just seemed awkward to be playing to an empty room.

    • Bingo...I love playing bingo.... have won before, not this time :(. But the people that claimed bingo when it wasn't ....OMG...funny at 1st but then it wasn't....

    • Food was ok at times & really good at times but, never terrible. We really enjoyed Guy's, the pizza & breakfast burritos. We did YTD for dining room and it worked great for us...not much of a wait.

    • The Love & Marriage Show was too funny!! Simon did a great job with this.

    • Poolside stayed packed...it was hard to find 1 chair for me at times. We had some cold days at sea so, didn't get to lay out much :(

    • Loved the Carnival HUB Ap (our 1st time with this). It was great to watch our bill and to pick favorites with alerts!!

Embarkation was so easy...since it was just me & DH, we didn't buy FTTF (wanted that $$ for drinks;))...had 11:30 check in time and was on the ship around 12:00!! We ate & walked around the ship...headed to our room at 1:30 & our luggage was waiting on us. Unpacked...and headed back out to explore.

We parked at Machu Picchu. It was the best place for us. They dropped us at the front & picked us up at the front. We called when we got our luggage & they were pulling up when we walked outside...no walking to our car in a garage...no waiting on shuttle to fill up. We will use them again!!

Even though we probably won't do this route again...we would not hesitate to go on The Triumph again.

Now, it's back to reality  .........but, we had a wonderful cruise!! Can't wait to go again!!

    Christie

I read somewhere that the cabins don’t have refrigerators. Is that true?

  10. our first princess cruise is coming up and considering getting one coffee card. confused with the wording of "unlimited brewed coffee". My husband likes brewed and I like latte's. If he goes to get me a latte, can he get himself a brewed coffee at the same time, and is he just charged (or one punch) for the latte.

we are on a 28 day cruise, and would prefer not to have daily charges for one or two coffees a day on our acct - we are not getting a drink package.

if hubby goes to get a coffee for himself, gets a brewed, do they punch the card ?

    thank you for any explaination

I just got off the Star. Almost every time I ordered a brewed coffee and hot chocolate they gave me both without punching my card. The only time they punched my card is when I ordered a specialty drink.

I asked them if I can use the card on another cruise and they said yes for the specialty coffees only. The unlimited brewed coffee would not be good. I would have to buy another card for that. Honestly I didn’t think the brewed coffee was that great.

  11. You will get even better food in MDR and much better food in buffets. More sophisticated atmosphere . Room will be serviced twice a day without questions.

You most likely wont have towel animals or the fun a activities/games that Carnival has. Like the other poster said, it's more of a sophisticated cruise rather than a fun cruise. More of a laid back cruise but very nice!

    Definitely better food!

  12. We don't fly home till 6pm. Thoughts on what there is to do at the airport or where to go while waiting to fly out?

Take a water taxi ride. You"ll go buy million dollar homes and you can stop by the beach. Across beach are shops. A lot of fun!
