  1. Jacqui @kazu I hope Ivan begins to come out of it and can move on to different meds and an improved outlook. You're a good mom to him and he knows it!🐶 Terry @smitty34877 I'm sorry to hear your DH had some setbacks yesterday and how upsetting that was to you all. Prayers for him to recover and come home soon, and strength for you and the family.🙏 Maureen @RMLincoln I hope you and DH can remain Covid free and healthy as you get closer to his Aug. 1 surgery.🤞 Whoops! Edited to add I'm wearing my Stavanger port t-shirt I bought on Princess. Honoring our port of the day!
  2. When I was there once we had rain, at first light but after we got back to our ship it rained sideways! I'm not sure if we were at the dock or tendering that day. Anyway, I double checked and it is indeed the Sky Princess there in Kristiansand with you (Diamond Princess is in Japan). Sky is a large ship, much larger than Diamond is, and it was the last ship I was on in Feb 2023. I hope you enjoy your facial today - they should have appointments on a port day. I hope you have improved weather for the remainder of your cruise.
  3. Good morning friends! We had thunderstorms last evening and they continued for several hours. It was still lightning and thundering when I went to bed at 10 pm. Today it's 70 and partly cloudy, with a high today expected of 88 and a 50% chance of rain. Thanks to Rich @richwmn for arranging to post the Daily and Fleet Report every day for us. I have no plans to build a scarecrow this morning, and find it hard to compliment my mirror but I will try if you insist. I don't approve of disobedience because I am a rule follower. I've seen way too much disobedience going on while watching my TV these past few years! I've given up commenting on quotes. Shrimp Cakes sound different and it will be interesting to see what Debbie @dfish says about them. Oh no on the sugary martini! If I liked red wine I'm sure I'd enjoy the pinot noir. Thanks to Debbie, Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for their help with descriptions. I had a prayer-athon on the treadmill this morning. So many in need of prayers these days! I hope they help and everyone sees better health and improvement in their situations. I hope Terry's Lou @smitty34877 is doing quite well and ready to come home. Also I want to send hugs and prayers to Joy @Seasick Sailor after her tumble trying to get the wheelchair up the porch with Allen in it. Your poor toe! I'm so glad he seemed to suffer no injuries though. I'm hoping all the spouses are doing well. 🙏 As for the people on the Celebration list, have a wonderful time whether it be cruising or otherwise. 🥂 Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for your work keeping the lists updated. Not an easy chore! Today's port is the wonderful Stavanger, Norway! This is our third time having it here, the first being Aug. 12, 2021 and the second Dec. 6, 2022. Here are the links to those dates and I hope you will join me in posting photos. Many, many photos! We have been to Stavanger three times, twice on Prinsendam and once on Crown Princess. It's a beautiful place with much to see. Our second time there in 2016 was on The Best Norway Cruise Ever! Captain D. D. was at the helm. The weather was beautiful and we were able to take a cruise of Lysefjord with Rodne Fjord Cruise. You can do that with your cruise line or purchase your tickets online for a lot less. First I would like to show you what the lovely homes in Old Stavanger look like. They are adjacent to the harbor where the ships dock. I took photos of all the beautiful doorways with the flowers at their peak, and used those photos to make a wall calendar the following year, with my Shutterfly account. Everyone I gave one to loved it. Nearby gardens Looks inviting! You won't be sorry if you take this walk. These are what the Rodne sightseeing boats look like. They're right there in the harbor with the cruise ships. This is the boat we took on our fjord tour. comfortable seating inside and you could step outside at the bow when necessary. You will see when later. We went to Pulpit rock of course. Yes, it's way up there! Some people want to actually hike up there, so the boat made a stop afterward at a place where they could hike to the top. There were beautiful waterfalls along the route, and we stopped at one to taste the water. This is when you want to step outside to get a closer look, and a drink of that water. There's also a place where some goats wait for the boats to stop and give them a snack. They must be well fed goats! Already busy eating and we haven't even left yet! He's saying thank you. You're welcome! They took us here to show us a heart in the stone wall. The heart shape is to the left of the greenery. Easier to see in person. Right in the center in this photo and next to the water line. There was quite a lot of scenery included on this tour and I would recommend it. I can't show it all. Hope you enjoyed the Lysefjord tour! That was a lot of photos but I hope you enjoyed this view of Stavanger. Have a great Monday and continuation of our holiday weekend.
  4. The Sky Princess is scheduled for Kristiansand tomorrow along with the Oceania ship and it's a lot bigger than Terri's ship. Fingers crossed both ships fit at the docks! Oh Joy @Seasick Sailor, I'm sorry to hear about the tip over yesterday with Allen's wheelchair! I'm thankful he's all right but what about you? I hope that never happens again. Be safe!
  5. Oh no, that doesn't sound good. I hope whatever is wrong will be helped by the meds and that you both get some good sleep. Take care! Graham @grapau27 I recall you saying this morning you've been to Olbia on a cruise? Do you have photos to share? We'd love to see some!
  6. Your flowers are gorgeous! Do you have a fence to keep out the rabbits and deer?
  7. In 2018, we arrived in Cagliari on the beautiful Prinsendam doing the Grand Mediterranean and Africa cruise. Another beautiful sunny April day just like before. On this trip we did our own walking tour of the city and enjoyed it very much. There are some hills here so if you can't walk up a gentle incline, I don't recommend you try this. Heading out we saw a beautiful statue. We love statues, churches and cannons! Using our HAL provided map we headed up this hill on a lovely sidewalk as the Europeans do best. To our right we saw ruins of the ancient ampitheater. Still heading up the hill. How about this cobblestone street? The 2018 version of the Cathedral of Santa Maria. No service going on but so busy inside! The ceiling Here's the overlook we stood at last time we were here. The view of the Prinsendam and the other ships in port. Looks like MSC and Carnival. Walking downhill going back to the ship. A view again of the city from the Prinsendam. It takes a while to start a new port of the day photo travelogue but it's fun to see some places we haven't looked at before on the Daily. Now I think I'll go back to my chore today of weeding out old emails from my inbox. I'm up to 2017 now!
  8. Unless I FORGOT on I Forgot Day, I can't remember seeing any photos of Olbia, Sardinia yet. So yes, Brenda @bennybear let's look at Cagliari instead. You've made a great start! Upon checking my records I see we were there two times, 10 years apart. In 2008 we took our first transatlantic with our Myrtle Beach friends who only do ship excursions. This was on the lovely Emerald Princess. The tour first took us out to the salt flats and to see the flamingos. I believe this photo was taken through a bus window. We then were dropped off in the heart of the city where we walked to the Cathedral of Santa Maria but there was a service going on inside. doors to the Cathedral We were standing way too close to take a proper photo, but I would come back 10 years later and take a better one. You'll see. Then we headed to a lookout for a view of the city and port. Emerald Princess was behind us. I will start a new post for 2018 photos.
  9. Lorraine, what a sad thing to happen to your aunt. I'm sorry to hear she may not make it through this. And the hoarding situation is a very difficult challenge for the family. Be thankful you're not going to be involved in handling it all. Gerry, your miracle glass cleaning cloth sounds pretty amazing! I'd better start looking for one. Saving on paper towels, plus the streak free and lint free sounds pretty good to me.
  10. Good morning friends! It is sunny now, 70F with a bit a fog in the low spots. High will be 93, partly cloudy and a chance of thunderstorms later today. We had some thunderstorms last evening. AQI is 26 which is very good. Thank you Rich @richwmn for our Sunday Daily and Fleet Report and also to Graham @grapau27 for Father David's sermon. I'll listen to it after I finish here. I hope I don't end up saying I Forgot today, and remember everything I'm supposed to. I haven't seen a UFO either and hope not to. And of course I support Special Recreation for the Disabled Day along with the rest of you. 🥇 I'm not a fan of risotto, and think Endless Summer Punch is quite appropriate during the hot days of July.🍹 The wine sounds nice but probably expensive. Thanks to our Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for telling us about them. Who knew that in 1679 "tourists" from Europe visited Minnesota? Amazing! Just kidding! Time to say my prayers for the extensive Care list and hope we see improvement for everyone. 🙏 We didn't hear from Annie @marshhawk and Chuck @catmando yesterday as far as I can recall so I hope all is well there. Huge storms in Atlanta yesterday, too. She may have lost power. Ours only went out for an instant down this way. The Celebration list is much shorter and I hope we can find many new and exciting events in our lives to celebrate. 🎉🎈🥂 Happy sailing to our cruisers and my wish is for more cruises coming up in the near future to watch and celebrate. 🚢 The port today is Olbia in Sardinia, Italy. We've seen that port here twice before, Oct. 15, 2021 and April 10, 2022. I've never been there before so have no photos to share but hope you can find yours and post them for us. I wish we could have some different ports, for instance Cagliari in Sardinia which has not been chosen before. I'm sure many of you would appreciate seeing some new places. Here are the links: Well, since it's Sunday I didn't work out this morning. Time to start my Sunday chore of laundering sheets and re-making the bed. If it weren't so warm and humid outside we could do a little crepe myrtle pruning and pulling any weeds in the pine straw. Speaking of outside, this summer we've enjoyed seeing several deer visiting behind our home at the bottom of the slope. They go there to munch on the vegatation down there. Every day we see a couple of young bucks with antlers growing plus a female or two who accompany them. And for the first time, we've been seeing them staying put for a long time, lying down and just enjoying themselves. This morning they are back and I see the males lying in the grass under the trees waiting for golfers to come by on the cart path. They are usually not noticed lying there, but today they are near the cart path so will probably have golfers stopping to look at them. Those deer are my entertainment this summer.🦌 I've noticed the antlers are getting longer and branching making more points. Fascinating to see this happening right under my nose. Hope you all have a great Sunday!
  11. A thought popped into my head this morning. I was in Halifax a fourth time in 2022 at the beginning of our Island Princess (Covid) cruise. The outbreak of Covid actually reached seriously high numbers about 5-6 days after our stop there in Halifax. 🤔 Then I remembered the delicious Greek Salad I had for dinner once I was sprung from Covid jail. DH mentioned ordering one off the room service menu in his quarantine cabin. So when I went to dinner in the main dining room, it was one of those days when nothing on the menu appealed to me. The dining room manager, Hamit, agreed to have a Greek Salad made for me when I mentioned my feelings for the menu. It was a beautiful salad, and so delicious! Props to Hamit for being such a great manager. He brought me hot water with honey, lemon and fresh mint when my voice disappeared before Covid. He got great mentions on my post cruise survey. Lenda, I edited to add you can have my chicken wings if I can have your Greek Salad. Sounds like a good deal!
  12. Last time I posted on Halifax we had a lot of early photos posted of that port and Peggy's Cove. So I didn't post a photo of the lighthouse there. But since I'm early today I'll post one of the many photos I took of the lighthouse. Everybody likes a lighthouse!
  13. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit!! 🐇 Good morning friends! It's a foggy (hazy?) morning, 70F with a scorching 95 as our high temp later on. A chance of a shower or thunderstorm is possible. I heard it raining overnight. Thanks to Rich @richwmn for our Daily and Fleet Report this morning. Happy Canada Day! I celebrated this day in 2016 while onboard the Prinsendam and having 4 Canadians as our dinner tablemates. I lost a dear friend from that table a year or so ago to ALS. The photo memories from 6 years ago popped up yesterday and there she was with her DH. 😢 So today is Chicken Wing Day, Joke Day and Devotion to Duty day. You go ahead with the chicken wings, but I usually skip them since I can't handle the heat. Love to hear a joke or see a meme. 🤣 Devotion to duty seems commendable in almost any instance. An interesting quote and I hope it's true. A Greek salad on the side (so delicious! lol) sounds great to me. I don't think I'd like the spicy cucumber margarita though. I don't know what the wine is and will appreciate Ann's @cat shepard's input on it. Thanks also go to Debbie @dfish and Dixie @summer slope for their informative reports. Congrats to Canada on their 1867 founding! Prayers for our Care list folks. Seems like a very long list and I hope some of you can come off soon.🙏 Extra prayers for DB, friend's DB Mark, Karen @luvteaching and her family, Lou and Terry @smitty34877 and Tana, Allen, Chuck and Pat. Condolences to @57redbird on their loss yesterday. Hoping and praying for Baby Murphy. As for the Celebration list, a shoutout to everyone on a cruise and those with nice happenings in their lives recently.🥂 Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for compiling our lists for us. Take care in all the smoke smog! The port today is Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. We had it posted here on Aug. 19, 2021 so quite a while ago. And how appropriate on Canada Day! I'll post the link below. We went there on our first Halifax stop on a 2011 TA on Emerald Princess. Second time was a 2015 TA on Caribbean Princess, and third was a 2018 New England/Atlantic Coast cruise on the Rotterdam. The third visit on Rotterdam it was freezing cold that day and we actually had snow flurries that day. DH and I both had a slight cold so we walked across the street to a pharmacy to pick up some cold meds. From our 2011 Peggy's Cove stop. And this young lady bagpiper trying to make it through college! Hoping all of you enjoy this first day of July!
  14. I'm sorry to hear the sad news about Chris. Yes indeed, prayers for the widow and family are on their way. My condolences to you all.🙏
  15. We've had our share of bad neighbors over the years. Once the man next door was so paranoid about his property line he would come out and move a shovel that impinged on what he perceived his side of the "line" when landscapers were planting some plants on our side of the line. And when we edged and mulched a bed of our spruce trees, he came over and spray painted an orange line on our property that he claimed was his. Grass and mulch spray painted orange! Didn't say a word just seemed to want to put us on notice. He was several feet over his property line and that was definitely our property he was spray painting. DH went next door and told him to stay off our property and that he was wrong about whose property that was. Not fun to have neighbors like him. Or the following one! When we moved here the woman next door would take her dog out to do her business, without a leash, and follow Jazzy over to our house to accomplish it. We have about 3 feet of pine straw along all sides of our house (keeps the red dirt of Georgia from splashing on foundation walls, staining it). Jazzy would do her business in our pine straw bed right alongside our bathroom. We have two windows looking out, one large one over the tub and another in the water closet room. So we would see her out there 4 or 5 times a day! Not using her lawn, just ours. She picked up after Jazzy, but the point was why our yard? Besides, she was a known busybody and I didn't appreciate her standing outside our windows trying to eavesdrop on our conversations. DH went out one day and confronted her and she got huffy with him. Said he was "ridiculous!!". You be the judge. She never spoke to us again. Thankfully a few years ago they moved away and Brenda and Paul moved in. Much, much better! Denise, if your neighbor you're having issues with is the one building a carport to within one inch of your property, then I can understand having a new survey. And if they got nasty with you about it, good for you trying to protect yourself with the security system. Surely there are laws against them building so close to the property line. 🙄
  16. Good morning friends! It's 69F with a few clouds and some haze. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible and a high of 93 again. Our AQI is 122. Thank you Rich @richwmn for the Daily and Fleet Report. Today I hope not to see a meteor. I think handshakes are coming back since disappearing during Covid. And a great day to celebrate women! I'm not a big fan of fish so will pass on the halibut. 🐟 Like the name of the drink so I wonder what it tastes like? Another pinot noir for the red wine lovers to enjoy or dream about. 🍷 Interesting day in history with the debate on Darwin's theory of evolution. Thanks to Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard Prayers today for all on the Care list, especially all the spouses who need our help. A special prayer for my DB today, and another prayer for my friend's brother Mark who may be able to try a new treatment for his bile duct cancer thanks to a doctor who says he won't give up. I hope Chuck, Allen and Pat are doing better today as well. 🙏 Cheers to those on the Celebration list and have good reasons to celebrate. Enjoy your cruises my friends! 🚢 Happy Birthday to Lou, Terry's @smitty34877 DH and I hope he's feeling better today! Also Happy Birthday to Brenda's @bennybear DH! Congrats Paul @kochleffel on your official retirement date! You'll wonder how you ever had time to work once you get the hang of retirement! 🥂🎈🎉 Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for keeping our lists for us. Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada is our port of the day. This is the third time for it to be chosen. First time was Sept. 26, 2021 and second was just this past March 3. I'll post the links below so you can retrieve your photos. I wish I'd been in Charlottetown, PEI as we were scheduled to in 2018. The weather on our New England cruise was not good near Charlottetown and our Captain had to skip it. That was a major disappointment. I believe It's scheduled on my Zuiderdam cruise next year so I hope we make it in. Hoping for a wonderful Friday for everyone!!
  17. Gerry I had my order in within 30 minutes of seeing that email today! I had my Covid cruise photo book sitting in my cart waiting for this promotion to come back to Shutterfly. I'll have that book in my hot little hands in about a week and a half. I'm all caught up now with cruise photo books! Vanessa, how sad to receive that news today. She has fought so long! I pray she has a peaceful, loving end of life.🙏
  18. Lorraine @cruising sister prayers for baby Murphy and her surgical team as she goes into surgery. 🙏 Terry @smitty34877 keeping good thoughts for you and Lou as the treatment discussion goes on. I hope the complications aren't serious and he will be home soon.🙏
  19. Just going over some photos from Ushuaia and have time to post more. The hidden garden behind an excellent souvenir shop. The daily weather report Seabourn Quest next to a Princess ship from a distance.
  20. Good morning friends! It's 66F with slightly hazy skies and an air quality of 114. Today should be a hot 93 and a chance of thunderstorms. Thanks Rich @richwmn for the Daily and Fleet Report! I'll celebrate camera day, enjoy hugs with my loved ones🤗, and see no reason to celebrate mud. Meh to the quote, but the day in history must have been life changing in that era. I think I'll skip the dish of the day, might try an amaretto pina colada, and will skip the red wine. 🍷 Thanks to Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for the food and beverage reports. Also, many thanks to Vanessa @JazzyV for the Care and Celebration lists. I really wish we could whittle down the Care list. So many people hurting or with loved ones in need of prayers. 🙏 I promise to do my part with the prayers! Congrats to those on the Celebration list. Enjoy your happy event or cruise!🚢🥂🎈 Everyone stay safe today with your unhealthy air quality. Ours is rising today and I know family members in three states are in the thick of it. Port of the day is Ushuaia, Argentina, the end of the world. Many here have been there before but I bet the general population has no idea where it is much less how to pronounce it. It was our port once before on Jan. 3, 2022 and I'll post the link below. I was rather busy that day and posted a few photos later in the day. But no worries, many Dailyites posted photos for your enjoyment. I recall our first time we had Ushuaia on the itinerary was in 2012 on Star Princess and they refused our ship entry because we had stopped in the Falklands right before. So we've only been there three times. The second try was with @Quartzsite CruiserLenda and I recall it was a bit damp there in the morning. The streets are all wet on our photos. That ship was Ruby Princess. The next stop there was Dec. 26, 2016 while on Seabourn Quest. Here is my favorite picture that day. DH and I walked into the visitor center, which had automatic door openers on them. The doors were open a lot since everybody wanted maps and info. One of the stray dogs in town walked in, circled the room and laid down right in front of DH. He actually laid his body on DH's foot! Here's the staff busy with visitors. No one really noticed this pup taking a nap in there. A few of that dog's friends heading towards the visitor center for a nap. Another photo I enjoy from that cruise was this comparison of the Quest sitting next to the Princess ship. Quest was such a cozy little ship.🥰 The final visit was on Coral Princess in January 2020 on an Antarctica drive by voyage. That was the final cruise for us before Covid hit. Well, I hope today is a safe, healthy, happy day for you all! Make the most of it!
  21. Good morning friends! It's 65F and sunny this morning. We expect a high of 90 with poorer air quality than usual. In a few days time we will have a heat wave in this neck of the woods. Not looking forward to it! Thank you Rich @richwmn for today's Daily and Fleet Report. Insurance Awareness Day is an interesting angle. How do they make us aware of it? 🤔 Body Piercing can go too far IMO. Leave it to the ear lobes and that should be sufficient. I guess columnists wanted their own day just like everyone else. People who post here could be called columnists or as I like to refer to us - reporters! The meal suggestion is Korean chicken skewers, and I'll have to wait to see what Debbie @dfish has to say about them. Dixie @summer slope will no doubt be right on top of the Cruzan Cider Punch ingredients. Ahh, a chardonnay for the white wine drinkers. Hope it's not too expensive Ann @cat shepard! Thank you ladies for your diligence in posting reports each day! The day in history is another biggie, since anything ending a war is so important. Yesterday was a sad day for Dailyites as we learned of Karen's @luvteaching DH Phil passing. Prayers top and foremost for her and her family as they prepare to honor Phil and his life.🙏 In addition we want to send our thoughts and prayers to all the spouses who are under the weather or recovering from surgery and medical treatments. Lou, Chuck, Pat and Allen - get well soon! Also prayers for Dixie @summer slope, @srdancer, Annie @marshhawk, Ann @Vict0riann and Linda @lindaler.🙏 If I've missed anyone it's not intentional. As for the Celebration list, happy sailing to our cruisers, and good wishes to everyone with happy and exciting news in their lives.🥂 Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for the updated C&C lists. Everyone stay safe in the bad weather out there including numerous tornadoes this month. Our port of the day is Cozumel, Mexico. Last and only time we had that port here was Dec. 10, 2022 and I'll post the link to that date below. I was on the Amazon River cruise last December and did not post photos due to internet incompatability with Shutterfly. We were there on Dawn Princess in 2004, Regal Princess in 2015 and Sky Princess in February of this year. In 2015 we took a tour to see Chichen Itza Mayan ruins. We took Flat Stanley along with us! Hoping you all have a great day!
  22. Karen, my sincere sympathy on the loss of Phil this morning. You have done an exemplary job of being there for him all through his illnesses. Please know that I and everyone here share in your sadness. 😢
  23. Good morning friends! Woke up to heavily condensated windows so pretty humid out there. It's 69F and the sun is peeping over the hills and treetops right now. Today will be sunny and 89 for a high temp. Thanks to Rich @richwmn for our Daily and Fleet Report. Hoping Athens, Georgia is as nice as it is here. I salute onions, sun glasses, and Helen Keller today. I somehow raised a daughter who hates onions and pretty much any vegetable. Weird, because I always had vegetables at mealtimes, and like onions in my cooking. Sunglasses provide a great service to our eyes and our comfort. And Helen Keller was an admirable woman and didn't let her disability stop her. The quote is another fun one from Mae West. I could probably enjoy the chicken dish today and thank Debbie @dfish for her recipes and photos. The drink is probably not for me but I appreciate the punny name. And the Sauvignon Blanc sounds great. Thank you to both Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for their continuing work on beverages. Today's day in history salutes another explorer. Lucky for him he didn't have as far to go in his explorations. Prayers abound for the many here who need them. We especially want to mention Karen's @luvteaching DH Phil and Terry's @smitty34877 DH Lou. I admire Karen's steadfastness in caring for her husband. The tough decision has been made and I'm sure he is grateful you held to his position. I do hope the plans proceed for him to come home for hospice. Blessings and prayers for you and your family.🙏 Meanwhile hoping and praying for a quick recovery at the hospital so Lou can get home with everyone. Praying also the chemo will do the trick. Prayers also for Joy's @Seasick Sailor's Allen that his kidney issues are improving, as well as Ann @Vict0riann's DH Pat with his kidney problems. I'm hoping to hear Annie's @marshhawk's DH Chuck @catmando was able to get an appointment with his oncologist to go over their plan for him. For all here who feel under the weather, prayers for improvement soon. My DB goes to his orthopedist today to discuss his shoulder injury and may schedule surgery ASAP due to pain. Meanwhile he is still managing his IPF with the miracle drug he was given. In addition I spoke with my friend yesterday whose DB has bile duct cancer and he is hanging in there.🙏 Since I was on the phone yesterday afternoon I forgot my nap! Maybe later today. Sincere appreciation to Vanessa @JazzyV for the lists today. Hoping your day goes well with PT, etc. and BFF's mohs surgery is quick and pain free. Three cheers for all celebrating something and especially anyone cruising. 🥂🚢 Let's hear some more good news everyone! I'm glad to hear Bruce @aliaschief and Paul @kochleffel survived their falls with little bruising or scrapes. Let's all watch our steps! Nawiliwili is an amazing port in Kauia. I'm happy to say I've been there a time or three. I found two prior postings for Nawiliwili, Aug. 11, 2021 and July 22, 2022. Below are the links to those dates, and my photos from back then. Enjoy your memories of that port as you post your beautiful photos! We have seen Nawiliwili three times on Princess ships, the Diamond once and the Golden twice. Nawiliwili is one of my favorite spots to watch the sail in. It's such a twisty, turny entrance that can only be done during daytime hours. If a tour is late and the sun is coming down, the ship must leave without them and wait outside the harbor. Otherwise the ship is forced to stay until morning. We did a tour of Waimea Canyon, Wailua River, the Fern Grotto, viewed Opaekaa Falls and enjoyed lunch in a hotel as part of the tour. See the tug boat in this photo? The ship must squeeze between the land/rocks on both the left and right where the tug boat is, then turn to port 90 degrees to miss the land right there in front of you, move over to the water on the left side, then turn completely around facing out. I imagine if the winds are too high you would have to cancel your visit. Squeezing through. Turning 90 degrees. Quite a feat!! Blow hole along the coast on way to Waimea Canyon. Waimea Canyon, which is like an Hawaiian Grand Canyon. Not as big of course. Wailua River boat ride Fern grotto Hoping everyone enjoys their Tuesday!
