  1. Yes, near outdoor pool on Deck 11. 🙂 Go Team!
  2. As the 23-24 season has taken a nose dive for Big Blue, I have found other ways to use the time. And put my tropical shirt with NYG logo deep into storage. I have may have jinxed them by buying it before a TA on NCL. Go Team!
  3. That's what it looked like on the deck plan. Thanks for confirming!
  4. I like looking at deck plans and was trying to figure it out. 🙂
  5. Hi What deck is used for main boarding at start of cruise on Brilliance of the Seas? More than one entryway for that? thanks
  6. On Freedom, what deck is used for 'arrivals' at start of cruise? Thanks
  7. I recently upgraded from an OV to a Club Suite Guarantee Rate. While the cabin number did not appear on the confirmation my TA sent, it did show up in the Reservation-at-a-glance section online at NCL.com. And, fortunately, it appears to NOT be directly under the Fitness Center, Pool or Teen Disco! 🙂
  8. Thanks, everyone. I may be confusing a $50 OBC with a different $100 OBC. Even with using the Promo Code List posted in a separate topic here on CC, it's hard to figure out what's what, as they don't put the amounts next to the codes on the invoice.
  9. Thanks for the input. I'll ask my TA to check on my TA. 😉
  10. For a 12 night TA cruise, $100 is the expected amount of OBC per cabin. However, a solo cruiser gets only $50 unless they pay 200% of fare. It's in the fine print.
  11. How about for solo diners? Easier or harder to get in at last minute?
  12. Indeed, late night noise is more of a concern than smoke. On CruiseDeckPlans.com that photo from the (alleged) starboard side smoking section mislead me. Thanks everyone! cj
  13. For anyone checking on this topic: In another thread, I found a posting from 3/23, stating Deck 5 smoking area is currently on Port side, just forward of Giovanni's restaurant. 🙂
  14. Thank you! I'm a big fan of CruiseDeckPlans.com and use it extensively. What concerned me there was: A/ a recent photo/review of 6250 which is captioned "right above smoking area" B/ an earlier pic from Deck 5 showing smoking section closer to midship C/ a high res exterior pic that appears to show a square deck area just forward of the lifeboats Thoughts?
  15. Ahoy! On Odyssey of the Seas, is the Deck 5 smoking area currently on Port or Starboard side (or both)? I'm considering the Single Balcony cabins on 6 and 7 and they appear to be right above smoking area deck space. Thanks in advance
  16. Earnings report in one week, I believe. Mere coincidence? Maybe.
  17. 1/ Was that OV room with a porthole or the big square window (Panoramic)? 1a/ I was wondering about viewing ocean surface while sitting on a twin bed. Sounds 'not easy'. 2/ Fortunately Medical Centers are hardly used in recent years. /s 3/ I wonder if they hoot and holler, or just go to sleep once they reach their tiny cabins?
  18. Ahoy! Planning to cruise on Jade, with an Oceanview cabin on deck 5 (starboard side). I did not see any input in the Cruise Critic Cabin Information compilation for NCL for this deck. So I'm asking here about Jewel class ships. Who has a comment on deck 5 cabins hearing noise from the Deck 6 casino / restaurants/ bars? Or, for that matter, coming up from Deck 4 (which has public cabins only on port side). Thanks in advance! cjonthesea
  19. Ahoy! In studying cruise deck plans, I have questions about hallways aboard Jade. 1/ On deck 6, how do you get to Grand Pacific dining room from forward? It appears to be separated from rest of deck 6. And it appears there is a single elevator out of the bank of four that descends from Deck 7 to Grand Pacific. 2/ And on deck 6, is that a large open area along the starboard side between the theater entrance and past the casino to the restaurants and bars mid-ship? (I'm considering a starboard cabin on deck 5). 3/ Finally, on deck 7, does the promenade extend around the bow of the ship, completing a route around the entire ship? Thanks in advance!
  20. Ahoy! Here's a menu synopsis observed on APEX Oceanview Cafe. Notes: I was unable to access CCritic boards until I returned from a 2nd week (1/14-1/21 B2B). I did not review the buffet that second week; probably repeated. The 1/8 section was posted previously on CCritic. After 1/8, I focused on the "main" station, as I did not notice wholesale changes in salads, breads etc. Desserts station rotated things (Lots of small goodies plus a feature item: banana splits, Brownie Sundaes, chocolate fountain) There may be details missing as I did some quick walk-throughs while en route to MDR or entertainment. I cannot speak to dietary restriction needs. I do not recall last year's selections for comparisons. Ship was about 60% capacity Saturday 1/7 No Report Sunday 1/8 Main Station: Chicken cacciatore, Eggplant parmesan, Tilapia, Beef Lasagna, Mac n Cheese, Ratatouille, Mixed grilled veggies, Spaghetti, maybe one or two more dishes. No Carving Station. Salad Station: three green leaf bases, about 10-12 toppings, three 'other' salads, various dressings Dessert Station: 8 or 9 small items like Red Velvet Cake, Carrot Cake, Chocolatey stuff, etc. And a person making Banana Splits for you. Ice Cream Station is separate for cones or dishes of about 6 rotating flavor ice creams and frozen yogurts, plus a couple gelatos (still extra fee for those). Three toppings--M&M, Chocolate Sprinkles, Rainbow Sprinkles. Bread Station: Many rolls, breadsticks, salami, cheeses (Cheddar, Provolone, Pepper Jack and other), plus dried apple, figs, raisins and some other stuff. Pizza by the slice is adjacent--four types including Cheese, Pepperoni, Margherita and Alfredo. Flavors varied each night. The Pizza Station far aft was open for late night. Monday 1/9 Irish stew, Seafood Chowder, Creamy Corn, Pork Loin (carved), Fish and Chips, Beef with Onions, Chicken Pasta, Rice w/ Butter (?), Chicken (?) Tuesday 1/10 Beef Moussaka, Grilled Vegetables, Grilled Lamb Chops, Lemon Roasted Potatoes, Tilapia with Rosemary Sauce, Grilled Lemon Chicken, Greek Rice Pilaf, Butternut Squash Soup, Chicken Soto(?) Soup, Mac n Cheese, Steamed Vegetables, White Rice, Meatloaf, Roasted Pork Loin (carved, w/ applesauce) Wednesday 1/11 Cream of Broccoli Soup, Alternate Soup(?), Beef Pasta, Beef and Broccoli, Roasted Pork Loin (carved), Chicken (?), Fish Fingers, Stir-Fry Noodles, Chicken Chop Suey, White Rice, Chili Roasted Potatoes, Asian Chicken Noodles, Vegetable Cassarole, Duck ala Orange, Prime Rib (carved, w/ horseradish), potatoes(?), Baked Pasta, Seared Tilapia w/ pink peppercorn sauce, Citrus BBQ Pork Ribs(?), Herb Rice, Rice Pilaf, Steamed Veggies Thursday 1/12 Creamy Mushroom Soup, Chicken tonola(?) Soup, Pumpkin Rice, Pork Chops with Honey-mustard glaze, Steamed Veggies, Chicken Fricassee, Turkey (Carved, w/cranberry and gravy), Baked Ziti, Stir-fry Vegetables (NOT cooked on the spot), Sweet and Sour Tilapia Friday 1/13 No report. (Go see "Rockumentary" in main theater!!)
  21. Here's what I saw in the Apex Oceanview Cafe casual dining venue on Sunday night 1/8/23 off Key West: Main station: Italian tonight (themes will change): Chicken and Eggplant dishes (one was Parm--I forget which), Tilapia, Beef Lasagna, Mac n Cheese, Ratatouille, Mixed grilled veggies, Spaghetti, maybe one or two more. Salad: three green leaf bases, about 10-12 toppings, three 'other' salads, various dressings Dessert: 8 or 9 items like Red Velvet Cake, Carrot Cake, Chocolatey stuff, etc. And a person making Banana Splits for you. This is separate from the Ice Cream Station which had about 6 ice creams and frozen yogurts, plus a couple gelatos (still extra fee for those). Three toppings. Bread Station: Many rolls, breadsticks, salami, cheeses (Cheddar, Provolone, Pepper Jack and another), plus dried apple, figs, raisins and some other stuff. Freshly made Pizza by the slice--four types including Margherita and Alfredo The food was tasty and well-prepared, except for some chicken that had been sitting in the pan for a while. No Carving station. No Stir Fry tonight. No International. Obviously, fewer choices from what I remember on Equinox and Millenium last year, but you won't go hungry. There was a modest stream of diners between 7-8pm. Breakfast (today) and Lunch (departure day yesterday) are still comprehensive--I did not notice any reductions. I spoke to the Executive Chef and other management personnel, and they emphasized they welcome feedback from passengers and will make changes along the way. I pointed out that some are angry that the changes were not communicated in advance. Of course it's a cost cutting measure: many food prices have tripled. And there has been a tremendous amount of wasted food. It is a line-wide effort and they will be comparing notes. Apex (and other Edge class ships) has no Main Dining Room and this does free up staff for the restaurants. No pics, as the internet drops out now and then...but that's another topic. Bon appetit! cj
  22. If you see what looks good, LOCK IT IN! I'm kicking myself because I hesitated on an AMAZING deal that somehow popped up: Apex Transatlantic from Barcelona in Nov '23. Solo Infinite Veranda Cabin for $2400 with Always Included! Minutes later, they were back to showing the typical Cruise Only Rate for about $4000. Argh! I'm miffed.
  23. Is it correct to say fewer children are aboard TAs? While Celebrity is my preferred line, I'm also researching RCL (Symphony of Seas) and NCL (Getaway or Jade). This is for WB in Oct/Nov '23. Thanks for this thread!
