You are certainly not alone! I check cruise mapper every morning over breakfast and throughout the day.I am especially excited when either of the two Queens sail through the Dover Straits as we can see them from our house.

We nearly always fly from T5 and use Club Aspire lounge through a certain bank account . We can use it three times a year. We have always found it very comfortable.Showers and peaceful rest areas.The food is plentiful ,varied refreshments and a good selection of alcohol.Sometimes if we have a night flight it is crowded,but people are always on the move so seats come available quickly. When we do an upgrade then .. Well…a different world

I looked up all the ports schedules for the islands on our Caribbean cruise for this year.Think it gives a rough enough time to organise any excursions.Guess there could be errors depending on the weather.It’s the departure times which were important.

This has really taught me a lesson for our next cruise,guess your never too old to learn.Or maybe my husband will face the Atlantic crossings .

Yes We have the same experience with Cunard airfares.Certainly more expensive than before.We are flying LHR to JFK return for Christmas cruise. What is bugging us is that we are unable to reserve our seats even with settling our account early.We cannot do this until 45 days before we fly.Calls to Cunard and BA get us the same answer. I wish now that I had booked the flights myself.Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to persuade my husband to cross the Atlantic in December.

What an exciting day watching the cricket.Probably some of the best cricket England has played.Did not move from the settee.Will talk about it for days to come.

I have earmarked Russka as one of my books to take on the Christmas Caribbean Cruise. I read it many years ago and just could not put it down.I certainly will see if I can get China as well.I will still make a visit to the Library as I love to have a browse.

About the luggage not the alcohol!,,

Will the very strong men help me with my trolley of alcohol? Thankyou for helping with one of my many queries on my list .

Joking apart I want to know about Brooklyn embarkation.I always thought the luggage was taken off you and the next time you saw it was in your stateroom. We have previously flown into JFK ,and put the little tickets on the luggage.We are arriving the day before so a different approach.

Hi Frank We also met some lovely American people on a previous cruise over dinner.At the end of the cruise we promised to meet up.We have just done that whilst they were in Southampton before they sailed home.We will be together to celebrate this Christmas and New Year in the Caribbean.Of course, on the QM2.

That is very sad news.

Have sent best wishes to family in Ohio and friends in New York.So glad over the years we have strengthened the friendship between our two countries.

Why not have a few hours for the the arm flingers, and the same for the slow turners.I think I know who would have the most fun.That’s what’s cruising is all about isn’t it? I am throughly enjoying all the comments

Am I seeing things, or is QM2 heading for Halifax.? Know she had a medical emergency off the Isle of White.Perhaps this is another one ?

Driving down to Southampton this morning. No ,we are not going on a cruise 😂 We are meeting up with some lovely friends we met on the Christmas Caribbean Cruise 2021.We are going to spend a couple of days exploring the area, before they sail on the QM2 back home.We will meet up again at Christmas.Lovely!,,

Thankyou both so much.As Hilton Honors we have gone for the Hilton.Will not have much time in New York, but at least we don’t have the worry about delays.

Having read the question from MylesS last week,it has got us thinking about our cruise.We we’re booked to fly on 22nd December to join QM2 to the Caribbean.Because there are always the risks of strikes etc.This morning we have rebooked for the day before.We will arrive JFK at 16.10. My question is we would prefer to stay in Brooklyn , so it’s only a short taxi ride to the terminal on the 22nd. I’m sure we can rely on our fellow cruisers to help.Also what sort of time would we be able to board.We are Happy Rowers. Regards Lyn and Robbie
