  1. Thanks for the review. As a non-havener I find it really difficult to justify the increased cost and your review really cemented the gen pop areas of the ship work just fine for us. In fact, if we were to splurge a little, I would be soo disappointed to have paid for an increased/better experience and ultimately not getting that out of the Haven areas. Nor do I want to feel like I should stay in the Haven areas just to get my $$ worth when there's so much more any one ship has to offer.
  2. Thanks for the video, too. We decided we didn't enjoy CCL as much as Disney but tried it for the cost savings. But when we sailed the Seuss breakfast wasn't back and and I really, really want to do one of those. Especially reading your reviews, I kinda wanna give Carnival another shot.
  3. CNC are typically bought on a cruise. They are also transferable so you can also buy some on social media. Since you've already booked Mar 2024, I would buy a couple CNC resale and call your PCC or TA and let them know they're on your account and if you can please have them applied to your current booking. Although not in the terms, CNC have successfully been applied to existing reservations in the past. At best you save $ on your current booking, at worst you save them for 2025. I haven't checked if there's a current double up or not, but since you're some time from final payment it's likely they'll have the promo again before then. Good luck!
  4. I'm looking at a 5-night sailing and trying to decide best room to book for 4. It's not that much more to go from an inside to a balcony, and about $300 more from balcony to Club Balcony Suite. Are both rooms configured similarly? My biggest concern really, is that there's a convertible sofa/couch and a pullman so the kids can each have their own bed and we still have a walkway at night.
  5. You can't add cruise next if you already have cruise first applied, if that's what you're asking. these aren't combinable.
  6. It just occurred to me that I could justify the cost of plane tickets to Europe using the cost savings of Cheers!
  7. This was from our daily. You should have plenty of time to sign up during open house.
  8. It's open for sign up on embarkation not sure what time, but not open for drop off until 4pm or later. It'll be on the daily.
  9. They don't limit the amount of sign ups. The kids are given a wristband to indicate you signed their waiver and best handled before SA opens. The first day at 4 the line moves slow because of the parents who don't take care of it ahead of time 😒. I'm not sure on the Pearl, but the Jewel had approx 600 kids but only capacity for 64 during spring break. We were able to get in most of the time as long as we showed up 20-30 min prior.
  10. From the uscis website: -Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a lawful permanent resident after meeting the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). -Acquisition of citizenship is obtained through U.S. citizenship parents either at birth or after birth, but before the age of 18. Naturalization is what you apply for when you aren't born with rights to U.S. citizenship or are over 18. Back to Saint Greg now. Great review so far!
  11. Was it me or did that Beam cost less than the price of gas?
  12. That is simply not true. Just because someone my go by their nickname doesn't mean that's the name on the birth cert. I've also known plenty of people whose legal name is Bob and not Robert, or Tom and not Tomas. Frankly, I'm a little surprised one can put their non legal name on a credit card, as these require a credit check and result in a legal obligatory debt. As for the Jr vs non Jr...well not all family members are completely honest and loving toward each other. By this I mean it's not entirely unheard of that father or son have used the other's name in an action that could be characterized as theft or fraud. Yes, it's frustrating to deal with on a ship but I wouldn't go so far as to call the policy ridiculous. Actually, I believe the opposite. I'm never mad when there's a policy in place that can protect me from fraud. I do appreciate the heads up though because my legal last name on my passport (and in my country of birth) is my birth name and not my legal US name now. I could see this potentially being a problem if I were to use my passport name on my reservation but the card on file is in my married name.
  13. Yeah I checked back over the weekend and prices were pretty much the same as last weekend boo Oh well maybe I'll book something for next summer. I already have a cruise booked in Oct too so I didn't have a whole lot of flexibility with days off between now and then. In the meantime I'm enjoying all these Lives lately. Maybe one day Europe will be in the plans for us too.
  14. I'd totally be going shopping if I knew I'd be getting reimbursed for it. I just don't like the ambiguity of the word "reasonable". I'm glad to see that at least B's luggage is in the right city.
  15. Good morning! It's 11pm on the west coast so I'll actually be saying good night! Yeah yeah it's early for a Fri night, I know.
  16. If you get a decent photo to work, make sure to save/favorite it so you can use it again on the next cruise.
  17. WTH are bravisimas descaradas?? Is that the potatoes? For sure the name does not translate 😂😂
  18. Wow, did I ever wish for an unlike button! Flight nightmares!!!! At least you have some time before you cruise. Another reason to fly early!! I couldn't even begin to imagine making a flight barely in the nick of time to board, but oh guess what, now you get to board a cruise with zero luggage. I hope you and B get your bags before embarkation.
