  1. If you're talking about the menus for deck six (traditional at 500 & 730) and deck seven (appointment & walk in), I will infer yes. But if course, they would each change on a daily basis, unlike the deck eight menu, which is the same each day.
  2. If you had such a bad experience on the Meraviglia, then why are you cruising on the Seashore next month and the World America in April of 2025?
  3. We came to the same conclusion after sailing on the Seaside back in 2018 out of Miami and the Meraviglia in 2023 out of Brooklyn. They are now permanently in our rear view mirror, just like Celebrity is, but we cruised on X nine times over the years.
  4. NCL Joy was built in 2017 and has recently come out of it's second dry dock. It's the second Breakaway Plus Class ship in it's fleet and is about 167 K tons. Was originally built for the Asian market and after a short lived time there, it started sailing the Caribbean. It also sails Alaska out of Seattle, Bermuda & Canada out of NYC, the Caribbean out of Miami and does the Panama Canal twice a year.
  5. It certainly doesn't have to be for everyone, but if you decide to sleep in on a sea day, you can go there for brunch or use it on a port day for sit down lunch if you don't want to go to Alfredo's or if you have plus and used up your two included visits. It certainly fills a void that none of the other ships in the fleet provide.
  6. You mention YC. That is similar to the other ship within a ship concepts like Celebrity's Retreat or NCL's Haven. What's going on with the Sun is a departure from the Sanctuary on other ships in the fleet. There will probably be tweaks such as umbrellas being added and possibly more padded loungers. But you may have to come to the realization that the Sanctuary on the Sphere Class is going to be larger and different than the rest of the fleet. If this is a deal breaker for you, then that's two ships in the fleet you'll have to pass on.
  7. She said that you got to choose your broths. Obviously the broths are for the members of your party. If it was communal and someone had a seafood allergy, well...
  8. Tim Hortons as well as some Dunkin Donuts have cold brew available on tap as a Nitro version. Had read a few months ago online that the new secondary location for coffee (Coffee Currents) would have this. Obviously this plan fell through.
  9. Doesn't really matter. This generation of parents think nothing about the ramifications of taking their little darlings out of school for a week or two.
  10. That can easily be resolved by booking 815 for each evening on deck 7 ahead of time, in case there are no adjustments once the seasons change.
  11. Here is a nice tour of the ship by JJ Cruise.
  12. Deck 8 is a casual venue that has a set menu each day. It's also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu covers all 3, so if you want waffles or an omelette for dinner, no problem. Deck 6 is dinner at 500 and 730, while deck 7 is MTD with both reservations as well as walk in.
  13. This is a quick review and tour of the ship from JJ Cruise. It's very informative and not too long.
  14. Appreciate it. Had read somewhere on line that the Coffee Currents area was supposed to have a nitro cold brew tap similar to what they have at Tim Hortons and some Dunkin Donuts.
  15. On paper, it's a 12 year old 122 K ton ship versus a brand new 175 K ton ship. IMHO, there is no comparison. And I've sailed on four different classes of ships on X.
  16. See post 284. The coffee and cones location has the list of $12.00 premium desserts. The OP mentions substitutes here.
  17. At 930 we're either catching a late show or more than likely enjoying a libation or two or three at Good Spirits at Sea.
  18. Not aware of any NCL cards at all. We buy the Carnival cards at 10% off, the Princess cards at 8% off and the Cruise First certificates at 250/500. Every little bit helps. Currently saving money on 14 future cruises between those three cruise lines over the next 2 years.
  19. There are three elevator banks on board. The aft set has 6 elevators, while the middle and forward banks each have 8. The middle set can be very busy at times and the aft set is usually the best, even though it has two less elevators. Know this from sailing on the Excel Class ships for 61 days between the MG and the Celebration.
  20. After scanning this 13 page thread, I figured I would throw my 2 cents into the ring. My speculation as to where Excel 4 goes would be one of three FLA ports. 1. Fort Lauderdale, which is possibly pure fantasy, but you never know. 2. Port Canaveral, replacing the Mardi Gras or 3. Miami, replacing the Celebration. The replaced ship out of either PC or MIA could then stay there doing 3/4 or 4/5/5 itineraries concentrating on Celebration Key seasonally, and in the summer could head north to NYC. In NYC, could possibly do 6 days to Bermuda and 8 to Celebration Key with any combination of Caribbean ports including Aruba or Curacao. Celebration Key is where Carnival's bread is going to be buttered while they have a reduction in new ship builds compared to some of their competitor's. Since Carnival doesn't have a new shiny toy coming out as frequently as their competition, at least they have a new shiny port to visit that in some ways is better than Coco Cay and definitely better than the private island offerings of NCL and MSC.
  21. 7 days always trumps 6 days, the Mardi Gras. Larger, more stable, make wife happy.
