  1. I'm a fan of JRs but I have never gone for breakfast. Looks good. I'm going to have to give it a try on my next cruise. I've known about it, just preferred to go to the WJ because I could help myself to the bacon. I guess I can tell the JR folks to bring me a triple order of bacon. Man that does look good. Now I'm going to have breakfast for dinner.
  2. I guess the sarcasm and humor escape some people.
  3. Oh, you mean it's a sales gimmick. Imagine that! LOL
  4. I'd consult your RCCL App for prices or RCCL's website. As far as a choice between two restaurants, that is really a very personal choice. Only you can decide if you want a Bar type of food, which can be very very good, or a BBQ. I've heard that Playmaker's hamburgers are very good. I haven't heard much about the BBQ venue and I haven't experienced it myself. However, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
  5. We had them once, at their initial roll-out, and didn't use them. Had to take them off every time you used them at a bar. Easier to just pull the card out of a pocket or lanyard. Having said that, on our cruise in January on the Harmony, if they have 'em, we'd probably use them on Sea Days. That's if they have the tap box at the bars, et al. I can't see taking them off and on all day/night long. I can see a big benefit to using them for those that use the pool(s) a lot (we don't) and have no pockets in their swimwear.
  6. Come on!!!!!!! Would I like "Roll Calls" with "Slot Pulls" in them if I didn't participate in them? Really? No, I don't organize, I don't have the patients for that kind of thing. Too many stupid people in the world. Not that I think I'm a genius. Not even close. I make far too many mistakes.
  7. Didn't I say, "We do like "Roll Calls" that have "Slot Pulls" in them"? Reading is a very special gift that some can't master, I understand that.
  8. Sounds great. When it comes to Mexican food/Tex-Mex Food, there's only good and gooder, as far as I'm concerned. Of course, I'd prefer the gooder.
  9. AND you still need the room key to leave the ship and board again while in Ports of Call.
  10. We'll be cruising on Harmony in Jan 2024 from Galveston. I'm hoping that the new terminal will have a better debarkation experience for all. I'm totally looking forward to Sabor and its offerings. Did you give Sabor a try? Thanks for the review.
  11. Some people I've seen are,,,,,,,,,,,,,well let's just say that I almost offered to get them a pole to dance on.
  12. My wife does that, I don't. Oh, I have an account but very rarely post there.
  13. I've been on a few cruises that had "Roll Calls" but did not participate. Sometimes, the people in the "Roll Calls" aren't a match for me and/or my wife. Not that they are bad people or anything like that, just not a match for us. We do like "Roll Calls" that have "Slot Pulls" in them, however. We would also like to do Pub/Bar crawls. Haven't done that with a group yet, just our own little party of 4 - 6.
  14. While I can't and don't dispute anything you say about UK cruises because I have never cruised out of the UK before. But, I have visited. But to my point, I want to say, I don't think anybody has said that RCCL doesn't enforce any rules. It is just that it is so convoluted when it comes to the dress code and other policies and if they are enforced or not. I personally have never seen anyone refused entry to any venue on a RCCL ship for "dress code violations". That doesn't really mean much as I can't be at every entrance at every venue at all times. But, I can tell you that I have seen what the "busybodies" call "dress code violations" in all venues (with tablecloths or without) at all times of the day or night on formal nights and not. And I don't care. My meal still sucks or is great no matter what someone else wears.
  15. Just wrap a tablecloth around your midsection.
  16. Error, it was the 8th floor. The large balcony floor.
  17. Hummmmmmmmmm. Doesn't that cause legal issues for you?
  18. I retired from the U.S. Army in 1994, that was the last time I got dressed up very formally, EXCEPT at my oldest daughter's wedding in Pigeon Forge, TN.
  19. I plan for the worst-case scenario, I take half that amount in cash and leave enough credit available on a single credit card to cover the other half. What's the worst-case scenario? Well, look above at all the very good posts, think of what is possible for you and your family that isn't already paid for and you know, again based upon what has been discussed so far, you may partake in those activities/purchases.
  20. Anyone can wear their best Tux or evening gown to go get an Ice Milk Cone poolside at 10:00 AM if they want. Just do your thing and enjoy. Watch out for those tablecloths though.
  21. Last May we stayed at the Crown Plaza across from the Airport both pre-cruise and post-cruise. We stayed there because of all the issues, at the time, going on downtown. Glad we did after going through downtown on the way to the Port/terminal. But, the Crown Plaza wasn't what I/we expected, it was kinda run-down and in rough shape in some areas, and it wasn't any more special than a Hampton Inn. It was a good thing that it was paid for with points, no cash involved. So, I'm not recommending the Crown Plaza unless you don't have to pay for it.
  22. My/our first Star Class cruise was on the Allure with Marla (she's the best by far, in my opinion, and others) as our Genie and we were in an Aqua Theatre suite, 10th Floor if I remember correctly. If there was noise, I never noticed it. Nor did anyone else in our party or at least never complained about it. The only thing that one person said was that the light from the shows bothered her a little, (obviously, they slept in the living room) even with the curtains drawn closed. The fix, we stayed out until after the shows were done for the day, it was really a tough fix, we had to drink a lot of adult beverages, eat a lot of junk food, and be entertained by the professional entertainment staff and fellow cruisers, LOL. It was my second most favorite cruise ever, next to Symphony, but Marla was better than the Genie we had on the Symphony.
  23. Just my own experience: I've found that many, not all, desert bakery items on RCCL ships are much like what we got in the local bakeries in Germany (the last time I lived there was 1985 - 1988) when I lived there, lacking in sugar. Whipped Cream is just that, not much added if anything. The fillings are very bland, many of us Americans like/love sugar/sweetness. But, I've always really enjoyed their dinner rolls.
  24. It all boils down to tablecloths. You can't wear shorts if there is a tablecloth on the table. Oh wait, the MDR has tablecloths on for Breakfast and Lunch but shorts are Okay at those times. I wonder what's going on with that.
