Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. It's amazing how much we stuff in that bag. Even though the bag is paper, I felt it was strong and was not concerned about it tearing. Don't worry if the top is bulging open. Last summer I got 27 items in there! It was summer and clothes were thinner and smaller. Even so, 27 is a lot! FYI - a pair of socks and a set of PJ's is 1 item, not 2. We place all small things in first (socks & underwear). Then folded shirts & PJs quite small and they went in next. Lastly we rolled pants and dresses and put them in vertically sticking out of the top. That last layer was tight and held all the smaller things inside. I could practically tip it upside down and nothing would fall out! 😄
  2. Fantastic! These are very clear. Thank you!
  3. Excellent, thank you! So using my Maps app I will set my destination for #3, Valet Terminal 3, East York St. (Making the map from the Tampa Cruise parking wrong!). 🙄
  4. Thank you, I saw that. I'm still waiting for someone to reply who has actually used valet parking here because there are discrepancies there. The issue with that map is that: 1. The red pointer for "Cruise Terminal 3 Valet Drop-Off" takes me HERE to the middle of a traffic circle. That makes no sense. 2. And the address listed for "Terminal 3 Valet Drop-Off" is 815 Channelside Drive, which takes me HERE to the entrance of the parking garage on S 12th Ave. 3. Or do I drive to HERE where Google Maps lists Valet Terminal 3? This makes the most sense, however it contradicts the Parking Garage map. So where exactly do I go with my car and luggage? 1, 2, or 3?
  5. I have the same question regarding valet parking at Tampa, terminal 3 (NCL). Has anyone used valet parking for Tampa? If so, do I pull up to the terminal directly or go to the parking garage at 810 Channelside Drive and get shuttled to the terminal? Google maps has a pin for Valet Terminal 3 which is right at the terminal. Yet the website says the parking is at 810 Channelside drive. Which is it?
  6. We were in the same cabin on the Breakaway (same ship layout) and it was amazing! Yes, it is forward facing, but there were NO ISSUES with excess wind and it was as private as any other balcony. We asked our steward for a lounge chair the first day, he brought it and it fit! I used it every day, and the 2 extra chairs still fit. You will LOVE IT!
  7. Didn't see any sign of a self-serve coffee station on the 10-day Breakaway cruise of the Mediterranean we just did in July. And I'm a wanderer at all hours, all decks. We had a balcony cabin and our steward told us we could not get a coffee maker in our cabin. Many here said to ask, I did and nada. More likely because the cruise was totally booked, so they were all in use in the suites. Your best bet for coffee is at O'Sheehans or Garden Cafe if you don't mind the hub-bub and noise.
  8. I priced out the cost of a balcony cabin and only guarantee is available. Also, the cost is still too much for the upcoming "budget" cruise vacation. It's on a budget since we've already spent a fortune on 2 other major European & Israeli cruise & tours this year. But, I'll probably put in a bid and see what happens!
  9. I tried doing a mock booking for our cabin category, but it's SOLD OUT. Is there any other way for me to determine if my category price has dropped by going online? Will Cruise Plum help? Or should I just call my PCC? My goal is to upgrade from OA to a Balcony. So a price drop may help get us an upgrade using the price difference.
  10. Did you ever reprice a cruise after final payment? I know that is one way to get future cruise credit (FCC). I knew I had FCC since I called to reprice a cruise. About 2 weeks after that cruise I received an email telling me to amount of the credit and it showed up on my account, with a date limit, just as you described. We decided to book a new cruise before the FCC expired, and applied the FCC to it using the payment page of the website.
  11. This was the busiest I found it. It was at 4:30 PM Mykonos, Greece. The last pic is from the locker room area of the ladies suite.
  12. My only experience was on the Breakaway. I think the only thing it's lacking from the larger ships is the cold/snow room. I never found it very crowded. Here are some pics of it, and some taken from the lounger! BTW, it's located in the very bow, over the bridge, so the views are amazing! 8 - 9 pm Santorini. Many people where still on the island, or waiting for the cable car, so the spa was very empty.
  13. Do it! I was on an 11-day Med cruise this summer, on the Breakaway with tours at every port. Most days I was back no later than 3 PM with plenty of time for the thermal suite. I'd have my bag ready to head there directly after returning from an exhausting touring day. I developed a routine of using the salt room, sauna, then shower that is outside the sauna, then the bubbly pool (using the jets on my sore legs and feet). Then head off to read or nap on a lounger. I found the heated lounger uncomfortable no matter how many towels I stuffed under me. So I prefer the padded lounger, with extra towels over me. I'd set my phone alarm in case I feel asleep, which was often! Then I'd shower and dry my hair in the locker room and be almost ready for dinner. I did this while my husband napped in our cabin. I only used the shower in our cabin 3 times since I mostly used the one in the thermal suite! Then I didn't have to worry about waking him up from his nap with the hair dryer.
  14. I used a small fridge magnet that uniquely identified us. We were with a group of 8 cabins across several decks, and I wanted something to help our family to find us. It only lasted 1 day, it was stolen. 😞 I asked our steward and he did see it up for a day, but knew nothing about what happened to it. So use something that is not important to lose.
  15. Thank you. We'll take your advice and use it, then see what's offered on the app day 2-3. If nothing comes up automatically, and we decide we really want unlimited we'll head to the internet café. Yes, I'll report back in about 2.5 weeks when our cruise on the Breakaway is over. So excited!
