Vaping on quantum of the seas
Engineroom Snipe replied to Kitalion's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Almost all vape has nicotine ingredients. Nicotine has been proven to constrict blood vessels and your heart has blood vessels. The constriction creates an environment conducive to plaque buildup which leads to cardiovascular disease. John Hopkins University: Vaping is less harmful than smoking, but it is still not safe. 5 Vaping Facts You Need to Know | Johns Hopkins Medicine -
Norovirus on Brilliance
Engineroom Snipe replied to coaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Some good valid points. There are normally multiple bathrooms in a house. You can isolate from others in that way and the atmosphere does not demand that others have close proximity to you. There is a negative pressure exhaust vent over the showers on ship which does help to isolate the odors and moisture in the ship's bathroom (head). Maybe after your first cruise you will get a better handle on how they clean things compared to your expectations. 😁 -
The more I think about it, this might not be feasible. By default, everyone's purchases and packages are deactivated until a crew member from the muster-station reactivated them through their RCI I-Pad. You can immediately see the problem with this for we are involving and counting on RCI IT to create a flawless working program. When the program fails and even those who did go to their muster-stations are still locked out of their accounts we are looking at mass chaos, "Cats and Dogs, sleeping together..." (Ghostbusters). There WILL be a mutiny of passengers requiring the ship to be evacuated at dock or use the lifeboats to escape. One way or another, we are going to the muster-stations. 🤔 "Next person in line with an idea........."

Norovirus on Brilliance

I have not historically wiped or disinfected the room. Everyone has their comfort level. I am a handwasher and sanitation gel type of person but not obsessive about it. I have not gotten sick on board to the best of my knowledge. Different types of foods, especially on vacation, can affect the GI tract but I did not attribute that to any infection. 😌 The system is showing its age. 😉 -
Do not worry, if I see someone holding up their hands at the muster-deck, I will think of how they handled B.A. Baracus (Mr. T, A-Team) and find a way to make you unconscious for the journey. I do need to know how much you weigh and any health issues you might have. I need your weight for the dose and to determine how much dead-weight (pun intended) we will have to handle in order to keep you alive. 😁 Just do not hurt me too much when you wake-up surrounded by 264 people in a floating sardine can. 🤣

Prices for drinks

The amount will be changing every fiscal quarter as RCI needs to show a dividend and debt improvement. 🤣 -
What is the worst balcony on Oasis
Engineroom Snipe replied to grod19's topic in Royal Caribbean International
As the newer ships change to LNG, I hope the soot situations clear themselves on the aft cabins. The last thing I would normally think about is how an expensive aft balcony requires you to wear slippers in order to work around the situation. Happy to see that you had a good overall experience. -
What's going on with Royal Caribbean?

For me, those moments do not exist. They are just "episodes" of memories that got canceled because of poor ratings. 😒 -

RCI has three more chances this year with my wife and I to prove you right. I will not base my decisions on a one off. That is why I booked three more cruises after that! 😁 -
What's going on with Royal Caribbean?

I can respect your observation. Some posters can be a bit dramatic in claiming that "They will never cruise again." It can be a bit tiring, but it is part of the process of expressing their opinion. We all have our moments. 😀 -
What's going on with Royal Caribbean?
Engineroom Snipe replied to ksuyen's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have been cruising for over thirty years with RCI. I have noticed many of the observations posted to be indicative of my most recent September Oasis cruise in September 2022. This was my first high-capacity cruise since the opening after shut-down. RCI food has always been an 8 or higher on a 1 to 10 previously. Oasis was a 5. I do not know what happened, but it seems that many of the observations are accurate to my experience. This site is called "Cruise Critic", what do you expect? 😉 -
Was a little worried about Liberty, BUT...
Engineroom Snipe replied to lynnber's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I might not care about a laundry I cannot see but I would be irritated if I paid for a balcony only to have smoke blown in my face. I like to cruise for "fresh air". Amazing. 😦 -
Norovirus on Brilliance
Engineroom Snipe replied to coaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Norovirus is a hand-to- mouth infection in most cases. The mask does not directly protect against the infection because it is hand-to-mouth. The mask is an extra barrier to make crew avoid a hand-to-mouth or finger to nose contact. In many cases, these actions are not deliberate but the effect of bad habits that develop over a lifetime. Is it 100% effective? No. The cruise line must think it is effective enough to mandate their use in this case. 🤔 -

Everyone is getting upset because you a looking "down upon us". I feel like steerage. 🤣 -
For people on low-sodium diets who crave salt, it was probably MSG and soy sauce with extra salt added. 😁 Forbidden fruit always taste the best and the "I am on vacation" phrase is an easy way to justify it for one week. 🤣

Norovirus on Brilliance
Engineroom Snipe replied to coaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have seen people use their forks and knives (besides fingers 🤢) when obtaining items in the Windjammer even with Staff serving food. This kinds of negates taking away the utensils in an effort to reduce possible food contamination by guests. I can understand why some people try to eat early in the hours available to reduce the possibility of illness. In the service, I ate things that a Billy-goat would spit out because I had to in order to survive. I also got sick more times than I can count from those items. It was easier to count the days my gastrointestinal system was not complaining about what I ingested. I am now getting softer with more medical issues than I would like to admit. I am careful too. -

With everything else you ate in the past 36 hours. 🥴 I do not like to see anyone going through this quick weight loss program. 😬 -

I am sorry, did not mean to offend you. I have never a cabana. Please look at the cabana pages. If your cabana includes any type of special access, in most cases, you will need to designate the names of those persons so they can get wristbands for the water park attraction which in your case is no more than eight. I can see no other reason to ask such a question unless you are trying to share the cabana with more than eight people. If you are paying for eight people, I really think the question answers itself. I made my comment because you are going to get all types of responses with none of them guaranteed to be correct. Many of the posters will start contradicting the opinions of other posters. You will get many answers but none of them may apply in your case. You cannot take any answer on this blog to Royal Caribbean and hold them to it. I would most likely ask that question to an Royal Caribbean Travel Advisor.
