  1. Stupid selfish rude careless self-centered lazy thing to do to others. Carry it on or do without!!!
  2. Good to know. I would hate that. Never would have crossed my mind. Thanks
  3. I get that. But it's not your job to look out for there welfare. No place on land would you ask/question wait staff about tips and salary. And there are plenty of stories about waiters not receiving all their tips from credit card charges etc. You just wouldn't do it because it's their business, not yours. Just because someone is from a smaller country doesn't make them stupid. They know what they are getting into. They also IMHO deserve the same privacy and dignity as a waiter etc in the states. I can't help but wonder if they might (sometimes) somehow feel treated like they are a little simple on occasion by those going past the line in the name of help. And as far as the answer goes. Unless we are there in person going over the books 52 weeks a year, we will never really know.
  4. OK, IMHO asking someone about their tips and or salary (one and the same) for any reason just seems so wrong and inappropriate. It's not your business what they receive, it's not your business what anyone other then you gives them or doesn't. Directed to all who question staff and other travelers on this subject.
  5. Looking at this excursion with RoyalCaribbean. Has anyone done it? Are there lockers to rent to put your cash/cards/wallets etc in? Any info would help. Thanks.
  6. I wouldn't tip someone just for hanging me a towel. But everyone should tip or not tip whoever and whatever they want. It's nobody else's business.
  7. First, this makes me sad. Coming back to the cabin at the end of the night to a fresh room, empty trash can, fresh towels, towel animals, ice, etc always felt so special. Second, I can see calling for towels or ice and getting nothing but a ring with nobody answering, being put on hold, etc. Then waiting too long before items are delivered. Lots of hassle for stuff that use to just show up at night. And yes I need ice and more towels each night. Caribbean heat and changing clothes from pool to beach to lunch to dinner etc all requires a lot of showers. Then there are people who have plates of half eaten food still in their cabins from hours before. Sometimes the best way to get the smell out is when staff is cleaning and has door proped open for 5 minutes. It's a good airing out time. Basically I just see this new system as a hassle and not so special anymore. Plus maybe a little gross. Your only as clean as your neighbors.
  8. I would never spend that kind of money without getting insurance. Once you have invested in air, sea, transfers, etc the cost of insurance seems like such a small price to pay.
