  1. Thanks for covering so much. Very helpful and appreciated.
  2. I also booked three excursions (well, 2 plus a clam shell on Princess Cay) a couple days ago and charged them to my OBC for my Caribbean Princess cruise in April.
  3. Sorry if it was somewhere in here earlier, but just trying to grasp. There is no room service charge on Princess at all, aside from certain items that aren't complimentary? Is this because of a certain package (I have Princess Plus) or just basic policy on Princess. I know I'm new to cruise life as I won't have stepped on a ship until April, but that seems to be a pretty good perk.
  4. Well, I'm actually pretty low maintenance and easy to please, so I'm sure I will be quite happy. I also watched a vlog from YC and I hated the dinner menus, so I think I'm happier amongst the riff-raff! 🤣
  5. Enjoying the trip report and your humor. I have two MSC cruises booked this year, so eager to hear about it...though not YC, so I know it's an entirely different experience.
  6. This has been a great read! I've picked up lots of tidbits of information. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
  7. Thanks for posting that link. The company I've been working with doesn't offer annual travel insurance, so I've been buying per trip. These plans seem very reasonable for peace of mind medical coverage.
  8. Thanks. They did work together and change the booking (after 4 calls where both sides said they couldn't do anything). I will call this week to hopefully get the additional accounts deleted. The problem I run into is every time I login, I get the register page and I can't bypass it. I guess I will just refrain from going to the main site for now, but isn't that where I would see my OBC? Thanks for the advice. I am not as dumb as this situation is making me look, I swear! 🤣🤣
  9. I haven't spoken to them yet. I looked at my booking and it is now under my third member number...I think I have a total of 4 🤦‍♂️. So, that's progress. But, I agree, it's a terrible experience and first impression. To create an account, but not be able to log into it is absurd, especially since it's been like this since at least Jan 1st when I booked. That being said, I'm less ornery about it now and am just glad I'm cruising in 47 days.
  10. TYVM for the response. I will follow up with them again on Friday when I have the time to sit on the phone with them during their business hours.
  11. I will try not to be too long-winded, but I have had about three weeks of complete frustration. Hoping any of you more experienced Princess cruisers has advice. tldr will be at bottom. So, never cruised before. First rookie mistake was booking through an online TA. (In my defense, I went to the only brick and mortar TA within 15 miles of my house and they seemed completely uninterested in helping me, which was confirmed by never receiving a call or email after I left the office) When booking there was never a prompt for member ID, so I assumed I would "link itinerary to account" as I've done for flights. So, I created an account on princess.com, but I was never able to see a spot to link my booking. When I logged in as "booked guest" I could see my cruise info, but not my member number anywhere. I called princess and they sent me my confirmation which had a completely different member ID (which was not on my confirmation from the TA). I called to have the booking switched to the member account created, but Princess said the TA had to do that. The TA said Princess had to do it. After two weeks of the back and forth I finally get them to make the change in collaboration with each other (I guess?) Only problem is when I log in to get my member number, the site is so screwy that it makes you register again. I now had a third member number assigned! This doesn't even seem like it should be possible because I have used the same "User ID" to login/register each time. I am now beyond frustrated because I just want to go on the cruise, see and use my OBC which doesn't show up under my "booked guest" info from what I can see, send in stockholder OBC request, and earn my loyalty and whatever points I will earn from the casino. I'm sure I will enjoy the cruise, but it should not be this diffcult to manage a loyalty account. TLDR; does anyone know how to login to account to stop getting assigned a new member number and to ensure your booking is on your loyalty account. Thanks, in advance. Sorry if my frustration is seeping through too much. -Anastas617
  12. Thanks for the very detailed feedback. Seating at a table for 12 is my worst nightmare! 🤣 I guess I'll make the change to early and see what I can do when on board. (I suppose if they had early/mid/late dining the vast majority would choose mid and that's why they lump 7:30 in with "early"?) Really appreciate the response. Cruising is a new venture for me, so I'm probably asking questions just to calm the nerves a bit.
  13. @styles27 @orangemini thanks for the input. I live in Central Mass nowadays and Amtrak doesn't run out of Worcester on Sundays. So both financially and time-wise it is more practical to drive rather than the logistics/costs of going to Boston or Providence for the train. Plus I have to use up all my excess lease mileage! 🙂
  14. @Mike C thanks, that's great to know! The parking price is not a huge concern. Either way it will still be cheaper than my other options all things considered.
  15. Hello all. Let me start by apologizing if this is all already covered, but I just spent awhile looking with forum searches and didn't really find what the answers. I already have a Mediterranean cruise booked in October on the Grandiosa and a land trip I had intended to take in July does not look like it will pan out. So, there was a sale on NYC cruises for MSC and I put on deposit on the July 16-23 cruise on the Meraviglia. Being from Massachusetts, it seems to make more sense for me to just drive there than going through the rigamarole of flying or getting to the bus. Here comes the questions: Is the parking for the Brooklyn Red Hook Port very close? I read that it is advised to drop off luggage and passengers first, but I am a solo traveler, so will be bringing luggage from where I park. Also read conflicting quotes on the parking rate ($25 vs $30/day). Are there alternative "park n' cruise" type lots that are more recommended by veteran NYC cruisers? I signed up for late dining because I understand late is usually less crowded, but 9:30pm is a bit much. If I switch to early-dining is it usually pretty easy to get assigned the 7:30pm time? Is MSC good about seating you alone without fuss or are they more apt to try to get you to share a table? I'm more of an introvert and also not necessarily someone that "takes my time" and turns dinner into a 90-minute affair. Thanks, in advance. I know the answers are probably all in the forum somewhere, but I reached the point that I was sick of searching. 🙂
  16. I am having the same problem with account I started Jan 1st this year. My birth year was saved as a year earlier than it is. I called them to change it, which they did over the phone and I could see it was corrected during the call. She told me they were having issues with the website. Logged in today...and it's back to having the wrong year for my birthdate. 🤦‍♂️
