  1. I have a roller bag with dividers for remote shoots, fits two bodies and a host of lenses and flashes. I love event photography, but hard to get side gigs, it's more about the shooting for me vs the pay.
  2. Jewel may 1, there are still club balcony rooms left, but they will charge me for them, otherwise aft club rooms
  3. Unfortunately I did call, they want more money to change my room from the ncl website guarantee room.
  4. Sigh... same issue. Bored thinking I was getting a assigned club balcony cabin, only to find out, if I want to get a cabin assignment, it will be $300 more.
  5. I dont want to highjack her thread, but I am thinking of bringing a rail clamp vs a tripod, or in addition to a small tripod. Worked really well in a few places like south africa and hk. Any suggestions as this is my first cruise? I think it might be able to open wide enough for balcony rail, but not sure....
  6. Oh I hear ya! I am bringing my a7r iv, Tamron 15-30 2.8, maybe a 35mm prime or I have my 28-70 + 70-400g(3.5lbs... ouch). Gonna be a heavy load. I might also bring a 500mm reflex af f8, but not sure. It's gonna be quite a heavy load.
  7. The best camera is the one you have with you. I usually bring my camera with me when I travel and deal with the weight as you never know what might pop up. Camera phones have come a long way and you can take some amazing shots, but I am a bit old school. I prefer the lenses and actual camera in my hand. I generally dont bring my camera to the beach unless I know I will be there for a sunset or something interesting. I bring it because I love my camera and love taking pictures with it.(well... love hate as sometimes I want the shot to be even better)
  8. Yeah... depends on your priorities. I am an avid travel photographer, I have my first Alaska cruise in May and I will be bringing my slr and zooms and wide for landscapes. For beach/tropical I still do, but a reduced load. Depends on you....
  9. Do the drink menus for wine show the premium icon next to some wine bottles?
  10. Opus one on discount isn't bad either, if you have premium plus, $225 a bottle is decent.
  11. If you log into your account on ncl, it should be listed as an upgrade. IF it isnt, I have heard you can just call NCL customer srvice and ask to get it upgraded and pay for it over the phone. I am going to do it for my cruise in may.
  12. I have read that cigarette smokers tend to take up residence in the cigar lounge... Even though they are not supposed to. I don't like it. But hey... If they can stand my smoke for a few hours...
  13. So... If you get the premium plus drink package, I assume the bottles that have premium plus next to them(I know stupid question) are included? This is the first wine list that had the premium plus notations I have seen.
  14. I am bound for the Jewel and my first cruise ever. Just glad it has a lounge. I had originally wanted to smoke on my balcony.. but read you can't. Oh well. Again, first time cruiser.
  15. I had asked a few days ago how drinks worked at the cigar lounges, no one responded. But I can just go get a drink and bring it back. Just hope a cigarette smoker doesn't take my chair...
  16. Hi all, I just wanted to know if the humidor cigar lounge was still open and available? If so, how are drinks handled, have to go get a drink and bring it in or?
  17. I am interested also, as I will be taking a northward out of Vancouver on the Jewel in May.
