Sommelier Michelle says approx 800+ 4*, 5* and PC Mariners onboard so they split the invites into 3 groups. That's a lot of loyalty!! Robert is from PG teaching us about our first white wine, which is 13.5%, $40/bottle. Says enjoy it w/spicy white cheese. He's also presenting the next fruity floral white Italian, $49/bottle. As he talks about its smooth balance, the person behind me begins a coughing fit. Robert may not approve of the reaction, lol 🫣 Now he's moving on to the 1st red, a ruby red also from Italy. Medium body, he says; quick to stain a white cloth, I say. Not sold by the bottle here, but it is about $44/bottle (?) Next up is a red aged in a stainless still barrel, not oak. But then he says it is available from an oak barrel - anyone but me confused? 15.5%, $49/bottle, highly recommended from Piedmont region (?) He had to read the label then took a long pause, but we'll go with it, cuz we're versatile like the wine 🤭 Oh geez "red wine is opposite the white wine." Thanks, Dr Obvious (no offense intended). Pair fruity wine w/salty foods. Faster legs = lower alcohol level, says Robert. If you'd like to enjoy the sparkling / champagne tasting, it's $39 - sign up here. Next wine tasting is also $39 for 17 (!) unlimited tastings or until you can no longer move on your own, lol. Enjoy while conversing w/your fellow winos!! Thank you!

After drunk walking (come on - you know you do it, too! Keeping a death-grip on the handrail as your feet go one direction while everything north of your waist goes another with the ship swaying to-and-fro and voices from some unknown location heard asking "are we gonna flip over?") the last 2 nights, kinda nice to see super calm waters. This is Starboard in the Lido, very near the aft elevators.

Why is it wearing always smile when we receive an invitation? Even if we know 500 or mor of our besties received the same, we still channel our inner 6 yo and jump for 😂 We missed the first wine tasting, so happy to see it come around again. Also missed the Mariners reception, so tickled to see this invite. I rearranged some PG lunches so we could attend these.

Ha ha to the quote and pass on the meal; otherwise, thumbs up to everything. I visited the port a couple years ago at the "re-start," but no pictures as they're on my computer (I'm using my phone). Instead, I'll share last evenings sail away from Ponta Delgada Azores Portugal as seen from my balcony. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.- 97 replies

I was able to open it from your attachment.

There has been local "catch" for each port; I didn't see it to post because we don't go to Lido for dinner. So, I have not been reading the Lido Dinner notices in the Navigator. Also missed the final day for $25 deposits and pre-paid grats for same reason - I didn't look at the in-box messages in the Navigator. 🙄

We made it! It was fabulous! Caused a traffic jam at the alcohol table, but made curfew.🫣 Let go of the last of our lines at 4:53. Bye bye Ponta Delgada!

Welcome to HAL!! We missed the cheeses and pineapple 🍍- glad you made it up there. HAL does a pretty good job with providing local options at many ports; this one sure lent itself to some good choices. We had cheese & pineapple (our excursion made a pit stop at the plantation) in port; sad we missed them onboard.
