  1. That's been my experience when purchasing multiple drinks w/o a package. You just give A card and buy whatever - no waving from anyone needed. Just a tray or good balancing abilities to carry if more than a couple.
  2. They did the last time I cruised with them. That was pre Covid.
  3. @jdkdkdsd very curious, too. And good job diligently checking and congrats on snagging a spot! Remember, once onboard, you can shuffle people around if you need to.
  4. I have not tried it yet, but planned on doing it this evening. Hopefully it's a temporary glitch and someone can confirm success in using it.
  5. Thanks and ugh. We changed to 815 late dining in hopes of avoiding this, but didn't really want that late. Knowing it might be at least then or later anyway w/YTD figured at least we'd (hopefully) be guaranteed to get in at "that" time.
  6. Getting ready to submit for the first on 5 upcoming cruises. One of the 5 is a casino rate $100 fee/$100 OBC, no DOU or other discounted perk, did upgrade from free inside to verandah, so we'll see if it gets declined. Will be disappointed if it does knowing others have theirs approved.
  7. Congrats! Book now and enjoy. And if you need a +1, please let me know, lol.
  8. Sounds like they're cracking down - extended the CCL OBC perk for another year, but getting more diligent about enforcement? I'm submitting request for 4 upcoming cruises (1st time to actually submit) all of which are discounted rates.
  9. I have never gotten a promo code to work by entering it in the box - it always says "offer code invalid." Funny thing (not funny) is after booking directly w/HAL and asking about the code, they'll tell you the exact rate code that came up as invalid.
  10. Corn is steamed as are hot dogs, broccoli, green beans, potatoes, lobster...always steam, never boil. If we're grilling, will then toss it on the grill after steaming to get the little char. Love a taco salad made from the taco bar! When they're out of chips (that bowl seems to empty quickly) I crumble taco shells on it instead. Thanks - now I'm hungry!!
  11. Didn't think so, but had to ask. I know if there's a creative or effective workaround to something, this CC community will know about it!!
  12. I agree the nickel and diming gets old and think they could move the $7 charge for an extra starter in their already-an-extra-charge-dining-venues to the included-in-the-fare mainstream venues (ie MDR) if the extra item warrants a surcharge. And I agree food waste needs to decrease and if imposing surcharges for extra orders is the solution, I support it when done fairly and reasonably. We enjoy the PG and will continue to patronize it until such time we believe the nickel and diming greatly impacts our experience. Until then, we'll pay $8.26 for candied bacon and ask each other "why" as we battle over the last bite.
  13. Thanks @RoadTravelled this does help. Yes, the hotel prices closer to the terminal have been outrageous, which led us to consider other options. It's just kinda scary to think about an independent house or apt when you're 2 females in a big, strange place (strange as in unknown, not strange as in weird, lol, although I guess Times Square can be weird 🤭). I sure have experienced enough NY traffic to know I want nothing to do with driving a car, but that just doesn't click for my sister, so I'm sure I'll hear about it all the time until we actually get out of the taxi at the terminal, lol. I was thrilled we wouldn't have to worry about hotels, but with the flight change we have no choice. I am soooo looking forward to this cruise and can't await to see the sights from the balcony leaving NY. Blessed to be B2B so I get to experience it twice. 🤭
  14. He he! Also, I'm sure the answer is in any number of posts, but I'm not up for a scavenger hunt this early in the day, so hoping someone here can also tell me if it's best, or even possible, to have B2B bookings merged as 1 to maximize OBC. I have 2 7 day cruises B2B so each has it's own booking #, making them eligible for $100 OBC ea. But if it was a single 14 day cruise I'd get $250. Can I do anything to get the $250 or is that the cost of having B2B sailings? Thanks for helping the CCL shareholder newbie!!
  15. As a "seasoned" person with a very limited and admittedly unrefined palate, I wish my parents had encouraged me to be a bit adventurous with food. We were not required or encouraged to try new things; if we didn't like something, or thought we wouldn't like something, we didn't have to try it. Today I am a very picky eater and know I miss out.
  16. It's a slippery slope and fine line on how early in the interview process one discloses upcoming schedule plans. Telling a Recruiter during the first interview about a vacation you're taking in 3 months likely may result in no second interview, but waiting until you report for work certainly smells of deception. Yes, empowers deserve to know. Sometimes they can wait for you, sometimes they can't. Remember, the hiring process is two-sided and has to work for both sides.
  17. Hey @hard_eight exactly which details do I black out? Submitting first request and would like to not screw it up.
  18. Don't they still have the taco bar? It had chips.
  19. GREAT question; curious to see Carnival's official response. I hope I don’t need to find out in Sept when I'm on Venezia.
  20. It can also be mushy and lacking flavor when left sitting in a pot of hot water - boiled corn on the cob is not good, either. I am now craving sweet, hot, crispy corn on cob 🌽
  21. Hey - I never considered the lack of door slamming by not having neighboring balconies, but you're right, so much quieter!!
  22. Thanks - "next time" really is going to be next time!!
