  1. Guest laundry is open 24 hours on a Royal Class ships as of recent. Best to do laundry early morning or late evenings. It gets busy during the day on sea days. Depending on the cycle, the washers finish in around 40 minutes and each dryer cycle is 40 to 45 minutes. As a courtesy to others, set a timer and come back on time or wait for laundry cycle to finish.
  2. If arriving after 11:00 a.m. or after Enter the Pan Pacific Hotel and take the Canada Place Convention Center elevators to Level CS, and luggage drop off will be there. Level CS is below street level and if you don't take the elevator, you'll have to maneuver your luggage down a steep ramp. If arriving before 11:00 a.m. Enter the Pan Pacific Hotel and take the Canada Place Convention Center elevators to Level P2, and luggage drop off will be here. This is the parking garage and you'll have to walk to the other end of the garage. After dropping off your luggage, you take the elevators nearest luggage drop off back up to Level CS. Luggage drop off here starts at around 9:30 a.m. and stays open until check-in closes. Last piece of advice is to pay attention to sign with the ship name in front of the luggage carts. You don't want your luggage going to the wrong ship!
  3. The muster video can be played on any personal device that has the Medallion App (cell phone or tablet) actively logged in with the passenger’s login credentials OR on the cabin TV. Make sure the device doesn’t go to sleep or turn off because the video portion won’t register as completed. On the cabin TV, you select which passenger will be watching. It’s fickle and sometimes will make each passenger “watch” it once; other times it will register for all passengers in the cabin despite having only played it once.
  4. Our expat friends that live in London joined us on the Sky in April were able to park their car in the ABParking lots right on Dock property.
  5. The Thermal Suite in the Enclave is coed and is the only steam room/sauna on the ship. Pre-pandemic, the Sanctuary Cabanas were limited to 2 passengers and the crew taking the reservation asked for the names and cabin number(s) of those that were going to use it.
  6. In Fort Lauderdale, there's already a line of passengers that forms at 9:30 a.m. The terminal usually opens between 10 and 10:15 a.m. I've been onboard as early as 10:45 a.m.; it all depends on how soon the B2Bs can clear immigration and reboard. Pre-pandemic, I had a family member that booked a pre-cruise hotel with Princess. Their transfer was the Princess transfer from the airport. It swung by their hotel to pick up the passengers with pre-cruise stays. We beat them to the port after having arrived at FLL airport the morning of the cruise from a red eye and taking a taxi to the port. As has been stated, ditch the Princess transfer and find your own way to Port Everglades if you want to guarantee early boarding. TBH, if you really want to miss the crowds, show up at 1:30 p.m. You'll breeze right through. Most everyone will have been processed by then.
  7. That’s the big IF. We always pick up in port. The pick up process is smooth and adds minimal time as long you have completed the rest of the check-in process.
  8. Much ado about nothing. No one pays attention to the what the App says at the port or the QR code that is generated. Blue/Green Lane is an honor system. It's a verbal answer and isn't verified with what the App says. The port agent manning the line will let you into the Green Lane, even if the App says otherwise, as long as you can show that you have your Medallion in hand.
  9. If on the Sky in 2024, I'd bet on the Mayflower Terminal. I was told by the port workers, when asked why the Sky was assigned at the old Mayflower Terminal, that the Sky leaves out of this terminal because of the long term parking situation. P&O uses the Ocean Terminal. They are assigned separate terminals so that the Brits that drive to the port have enough parking. The Regal is assigned the Ocean Terminal with P&O because Brits don't usually book the Regal because it does British Isles itineraries, an area that Brits are trying to get away from for their cruises.
  10. Princess usually mails Medallions from Asia. Orders that are placed close to the 12 day cutoff are sent via FedEx. Orders that are placed well in advance of the cutoff are mailed using a forwarder. The Medallions are send from Asia via air freight and are left to sit in the forwarder's warehouse until closer to sail date at which point they are forwarded to USPS for final delivery. You should receive your Medallions between 10 to 14 days before sailing.
  11. Staffing is back to pre-pandemic levels as of recent. The problem is that there are a lot of newbies on their first contract and do their jobs as if their heads were cut off. Many need more training. Crew with more seniority have expressed that crew are being promoted to quickly without having as much experience or know how as compared to pre-pandemic. The OceanNow delivery waiters look "lost" sometimes because they are trying to match a picture to face to deliver food/drink.
  12. Princess is usually assigned the Mayflower Terminal and Ocean Terminal. Depending on how busy the port is they might be assigned the QEII Terminal and usually for smaller ships like the Island Princess. In recent times, the Sky Princess has been assigned Mayflower Terminal and the Regal has been assigned the Ocean Terminal. The official cruise schedule from the port authority with berth assignments is below: https://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/Live_Information/Shipping_Movements_and_Cruise_Ship_Schedule/Cruise_Ship_Schedule/
  13. Since June, this has been my experience as well since my Princess cruise in June. The final statement lags and isn't e-mailed until weeks/months from disembarkation. If money is owed to Princess, however, the charge date on the credit card is the disembarkation date. On a side note, my June cruise was a B2B and upon checking my e-mail I was sent a final account statement on the 2nd day of the 2nd segment with the charges all the way up to the 1st day of the 2nd segment. When I showed the e-mail and questioned Guest Services about this, they said "someone must be pressing the wrong buttons" and assured me that no charge had gone through, my folio would continue on the 2nd segment, and no onboard charges would be finalized and put through to the credit card until end of the 2nd segment. In the end Guest Services explanation (or lack there of) panned out, and the folio charges were charged to my CC at the end of the 2nd segment. Something is up with Princess' onboard accounting system.
  14. In the past Princess has had a Black Friday Sale. TBH, you're more than a year until your sail date and the fare is very likely to decrease. It pays to PLUS. Wait that's wrong, it pays to keep checking the fares.
  15. The cruise cards still exist at least as of January 2023. I was able to convert my Medallion into a cruise card. Guest Services said all they had were blank cruise cards for Platinum and were out of Elite. I took it--not a big deal. This doesn't help the OP for their purposes, but I really just wanted a cruise card in lieu of the Medallion.
  16. 500ml bottles of water are included with the Plus Package. Ships also carry 1.5 liters bottles of water which cost $5.00 and aren't included with any package. Room steward will not refill your cabin with bottled water. You will have to get it yourself at a bar or the International Café. I've ordered 5 bottles at a time under the drink package to bring to my cabin and the bartenders don't have a problem.
  17. Technically, no. Only the sundaes are included; the only flavor of gelato in the sundaes as they come listed is vanilla and you can't change the flavor. Most times the crew making the sundaes have no problem just giving you two scoops of vanilla gelato if you ask. On some ships, you might able to swap the sundae for a slice of cake, if the venue has them. (Doesn't work on the Majestic Princess because it has no Gelato; and on the Royal Princess in April, Gelato had no premium slices of cake.) If the crew is extra generous and you are nice, they will allow to get 3 scoops of any flavor gelato. YMMV with this option.
  18. Yes, Guest Services will give you a cruise card, if you ask. The question is if they still have the blank cards for Elite. If Guest Services has run out, they will give you a card with an incorrect Captain’s Circle Level.
  19. The thread below has a lengthy discussion about why this wouldn't be possible.
  20. What time does your ship arrive into San Diego? If your ship has a scheduled arrival of no later than 7:00 a.m., there are no delays in berthing/gaining clearance, you self carry off your bags, and take a taxi to the airport, 10:25 a.m.is doable. San Diego Airport is only 3 miles (around a 10 minute ride) from the Port of San Diego.
  21. Yeah, that's a pretty important step. It was implied that this would all go through Guest Services. Guest Services would have to re-program each passengers Medallion to open the swapped cabin and reassign the passenger's folio to the swapped cabin. Guest Services won't program a Medallion to open a different cabin unless all parties are present.

    Medallion app

You realize that booking excursions pre-cruise on the App will just load the Excursions tab of your Travel Summary on your App? Just do it online and skip using the App for this pre-cruise.
  23. Illy is more expensive. With all the cutbacks that cruise lines are making, I doubt cruisers will be seeing Illy on an major mass market cruise line. Gotta be thankful for the upgrade to Lavazza. The coffee syrup of yesteryears was absolutely vile.
  24. Wi-fi calling is just another name for using the cellular carrier's VoIP. Perhaps google what VoIP is to get a better understanding of Wi-fi calling is and how it works.
