  1. They do in Aberdeen. I live here and always happy to answer any questions on the city and surrounds.
  2. Uber does not operate in Aberdeen
  3. No there is no shuttle. You dock right in the city centre and it's less that 5 mins walk to the railway station. From there you can catch a train to Taipei which takes around an hour.
  4. We stayed in Intercontinental Tokyo Bay beforehand and Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium afterwards. Both met our needs, would probably have preferred something more central in Tokyo tbh. Anywhere above a MRT in either and you'll be good. AzAmazing Evening was in HoChiMhin at Binh Quoi Village. It was actually the evening of our Wedding Anniversary. We really enjoyed it but wouldn't say it was amazing. The setting was lovely as were the arts and crafts and the local hostesses. We were a long way back from the stage and really couldn't see much. Food and drink both poor/wasteful. Logistics of getting everyone there and back was good but didn't like the fact we were all stickered up and herded like sheep and supposed to sit with our arbitrary bus number group. We broke ranks and sat with friends we made onboard. No specific first time Azamara cruise advice bar book your own excursions rather than ship based ones. We used Tours by Locals, Go With Guide, Hong Kong Free Tours. All worked out cheaper and better than Azamara ones and were either walking tours or with a private guide, driver and AC car.
  5. Got back to driech, cold and rainy Scotland yesterday after an amazing 21 nights away with 17 onboard Quest. Japan - Taiwan - Hong Kong - Vietnam - Singapore. Despite all the prior stress with the website issues we had an absolutely fantastic time. More than happy to answer any questions from anyone about the ship and/or ports of call. It was our fist time cruising with Azamara and defiantly wont be our last. Really couldn't fault the service, food or our room (6020 - veranda). Quickly discovered that their excursions definitely aren't our bag so did our own thing in that respect after a painful experience at the only one we did initially book followed by a cooking class one that was completely miss sold and didn't go to the market or the cookery school specified. We are both 50 and were definitely towards the lower age group of guests but we met some fantastic people, fell in love with Azamara and Asia and enjoyed celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary. My husband brought his kilt and bagpipes and played up on the sun deck on every sail away and was honoured to be asked to play for the memorial service at 6am on Anzac day.
  6. Phew! 🤣 Dear Azamara Guest, We are writing to apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by the email you received from us yesterday that was not related to your upcoming cruise. We understand that this email was sent in error and did not contain the information you were expecting. We would like to assure you that your upcoming cruise with us is still on schedule, and we are looking forward to providing you with a wonderful experience. Please disregard the previous email and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your upcoming cruise. You can visit https://www.azamara.com/contact-us for your local Azamara call center number. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding in this matter. Sincerely, AZAMARA®
  7. Received an 'important update to your cruise' email from Azamara last night. Dear Azamara Guest, In just a few days you will be embarking on Azamara Pursuit sailing on April 15, 2023. We are reaching out to you today to let you know that we had to make a necessary last-minute change to your itinerary. It's important to note that the security and political situation in Israel is complex and can change rapidly. While the country has taken steps to ensure the safety of its citizens and travelers, travel advisories as well as agents and security firms currently advise against visiting these areas at this time. Only issue is we are sailing on the Quest from Tokyo on the 18th of April...
  8. I signed up for one before the website changes and got confirmation through of the booking. Not holding out much hope of anything actually happening. Thank you for registering for our upcoming Azamara Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle party. You are confirmed to attend! Please keep this email as confirmation of your registration. As of today, you have registered 14 guest(s) for our Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle Party on QS departing 18-April-2023. We’ll be in touch with additional details related to your registration as your voyage approaches. In the meantime, join the conversation with other guests on your upcoming sailing through the Azamara Cruise Critic Roll Call forum. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow Cruise Critics on your voyage. Thank you for registering, and we look forward to seeing you onboard! Sincerely, Azamara®
  9. Yes to this! A little more patience from those who still have weeks/months to go would be welcomed by those of us who actually do travel imminently. I fly in 4 days and board the cruise in 6 days and their already overstretched resources of phonelines/emails/etc are being overloaded by those who really shouldn't be a priority. Unless your cruise is departing within a couple of weeks, relax, don't stress and give their IT team time to fix the mess. It will get sorted but it's going to take time.
  10. Departure is 5pm - we're on the same cruise.
  11. Are you able to see/book excursions?
  12. Can anyone tell me if vermouth is within included spirits? Specifically can I get a Dirty Gin Martini.
  13. Thanks but we sail in 7 days. I'm aware of Goodwill Guides but have read a lot of horror stories alongside the positive reviews.
  14. Was this purely because it's Japan? Ours is scheduled to take place off the ship in Vietnam on 2nd May. AzAmazing Evenings: A Magical Evening at Binh Quoi Village, Ho Chi Minh City
  15. Call when lines open at 10am and request a call back. We were told that we can't book any excursions now until we are onboard (which is in 8 days time) but hopefully they can hep you with transfers. I take it you booked direct rather than via a travel agent?
  16. Thank you, that's reassuring. I wouldn't even be worried if it wasn't the first port or if it was something we could do on ourselves but it's not something I'd even consider attempting on our own. Just kicking myself for not booking it at the outset as its the only Azamara tour that we definitely wanted to do.
  17. Has anyone managed to book any excursions via the new website or by calling them? We sail on the 18th and I really want to book one of the ship's excursions for the 20th. Can't even see them online and when my husband called them they said they couldn't do it that way either as they don't have access to the system. Its quite a specialised one - a 9 hour tour “Highlights of Kyoto by Shinkansen Bullet train” so I'm really keen to know if we can do it or not.
  18. My husband is going to wear his kilt and a white shirt seeing as theres no formal night where he can wear it
  19. Today I actually want to cry. I just feel like I'm banging my head agains a brick wall and have lost all excitement about this trip. We fly from Scotland in 13 days time and hopefully sail from Tokyo in 15 days time. One minute the website says 'you have no upcoming cruises', the next time I can log in but can barely access anything and cant view/book excursions, then it reverts again to 'no upcoming cruises' and repeat to fade. For us this is a holiday of a lifetime that we have been saving for over the last 10 years to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. I am so frustrated. My travel agent has completely messed up with all the paperwork for our transfers and hotels Message from her this afternoon. Apologies again for the documentation errors. These come direct form the tour operator and whilst I normally check everything over I have had something of a personal crisis at home these last few days. I've been in touch with the tour operator and all documents are being updated. When I receive them I'll send them on. However we still don't have cruise docs. Tour operator called azamara today and they weren't taking any more calls! They have made a note to call again in the morning. I notice on their website they are now saying that you can manage your booking online. Have you tried this today?
  20. I have an extra $150 as of a couple of days ago and a further $250 today but I'm not holding out much hope that it's actually $400 of real OBC, suspect it's just an error.
  21. We board in 18 days and there are no excursions available to see/book
  22. Today I can see my upcoming cruise in 19 days but that's pretty much it. No excursions available for booking which is what I really want to get sorted. Clicking around the my reservations area repeatedly brings up error pages.
  23. Likewise. Unbelievably frustrating when sailing in 21 days.
  24. You must pre book a ticket for entry. Taxi is easiest way to get directly to it. If you have time I would also recommend Park Guell. Again prebooking is a must.
  25. We're on the 17 night Springtime in Asia voyage on the Quest sailing Tokyo - Singapore 18th April Can anyone advise what the current complimentary beers are? My husband is hoping for something other than Budweiser.
