I am not a Britannia member but when I logged on just after 9am the 2025 cruises were showing so I phoned a friend who wanted to book on my cruise. She managed to book, over the phone, at a higher price than I had paid because I had pre registered. The cruises are not showing now on my browser. We were just lucky.

I see the 2025 cruises have gone on general sale today. I am glad I pre registered, my cabin on D deck is now £1200 more expensive!!

As there is only one cruise to Iceland next year I guess it must be very popular.

I pre registered in May 2023 and have just had my phone call from Saga. I have booked the 2 week Iceland cruise and got 30% discount. I gulped at the price😱 but can only spend it once!!

I am on the 23rd May sailing to the fjords and have just booked the return Flam railway trip for 26th May. It cost 730kr approx £55. I have booked the 13.30 from Flam. Hopefully the itinerary won’t get changed!!

I agree with all the above comments. I was on Saga Spirit of the Danube Xmas markets cruise last December and found the lower level cabin absolutely fine. As a solo cruiser the balcony cabins were too expensive for me. I would definitely do another river cruise in the same level of cabin.

Thank you so much for your great blog. I will be on my first solo cruise with Saga next May to the Norwegian Fjords and this blog is really whetting my appetite for the cruise, can’t come soon enough. Pleased to see get togethers for solo travellers each evening.

Just had an email from Saga saying they no longer require proof of covid vaccinations although they do encourage guests to continue having up to date boosters.

How many vaccinations do Saga expect you to have had? I am 74 and have had 4 vaccinations so far but really do not want anymore.

I am on this cruise too. A few firsts for me, first solo cruise, first Saga cruise and first fjords cruise! Looking forward to it very much.

My late husband and I cruised with Celebrity for many years but I thought Saga seemed a better option for solo cruising. I am sure I will enjoy it. I know I can opt to share a table in MDR, which I would do, but what happens with the speciality restaurants. I don’t want to sit by myself like “billy no mates”.

Just booked my first solo cruise to the fjords in May 2024. Really looking forward to it.

Thank you for your comprehensive reply. I am waiting for the summer 2024 brochure and hope to go on a 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise to get me started. Even though I have cruised numerous times I have never been to the fjords. Thank you again, you have given me confidence to book.
