  1. I was able to log in normally about an hour after my original post. Thanks for chiming in!
  2. Yes, we will stay the night before, and the bonus is that the cruise leaves and returns on Sunday, so that should help. What I normally do is stay about 1.5-2 hrs from the port, and drive in to arrive around 9:30-10:00am at the port. What are you thinking/suggesting if I stay the night before?
  3. Are you sure? If I book the 3 night package, it tells me what the restaurants are.. I cannot pick Butchers Block for 3 nights. From the sounds of the post above yours, this is a new change. The BB alone is $99 pp, and the 3 night package is $140.
  4. First time cruising out of Brooklyn. I'm coming in from the west (80 to 280 to 78 to 478) and when I follow google maps route, it looks pretty convoluted as the route navigates along all the side roads and side streets. Anyone who has driven this - is it fairly straight forward? I see some signage, but not a lot. Also, it really $45/day for parking on a 7 day cruise to park at the terminal? MSC Mergaviglia in March '24 Thanks in advance!
  5. I used to think Royal Caribbean was bad (it's much better lately), but then I happened upon MSC website.... sheesh. Always getting errors. I booked my first cruise, and it accepted my booking number, linking it to my account, but I simply cannot see it - keeps telling me to re-link the booking number - only to be told that this booking number is already linked - yet nothing comes up Oh boy. I just wanna book excursions and dining... Is this an MSC norm?
  6. Was just at Labadee in August. And just like the 4-5 other times I've been there, there is no guest wifi on the compound. Never has been. Now, if you stand at the end of the pier, "in Labadee" you might be clinging onto the final threads of that ship's wifi signal. Some ppl have reported getting ship wifi signal a little further out, but make no mistake - there is no wifi on Labadee.
  7. 1. Stock up on Advil and hypertension meds during the planning phases of the cruise 2. Don't over plan everyone's time. Most of the day should be "free" 3. I'd recommend a Travel Agent for this many cabins, or call the cruise line directly. You cannot book that many cabins yourself.
  8. As Ken mentioned, it might be a propulsion issue (again). We sailed on Anthem in March skipped PC due to propulsion issues. The cruise (or two?) before us reported the same thing. The cruise after us had PC back in the itinerary. I was disappointed to miss PC only because there was a SpaceX launch that day, and we would have been in a great position to see it just a few hours out to sea.
  9. Whoa.. those 2025 Icon prices are quite the thing, eh? "New Hotness" factor at work
  10. Curious.. is the adult area access admission cost just to get you into an adult -only beach area, or does it have any nicer amenities like the beach club does?
  11. We ran into the same issue in August when check-in opened up. We had 4 cabins, and one was a Royal Up bid room, and all 4 cabins could not check in for several hours. Keep trying - unfortunately this is a common happening.
  12. $8.99 is the lowest I've seen it. 90% of the time, it's at $9.99. Love the freestyle machine due to the flavour varieties.
  13. Careful, or we might decide to burn your White House Again 😉😁😜
  14. The current unrest is (mostly) in the capital - far away in the south part of Haiti. The police and gangs in the capital of Port au Prince are presently fighting for control. Google "Cite Soleil" for an education if you want. I lived in Haiti for 18 months "back in the day", and Northern Haiti has always been like a different country compared to the capital. Not to say unrest in unheard of in the north, but it's a lot less common. I will be in Labadee in 2 weeks on a sailing, and I've no concerns about how the average Haitian is mentally - they live for cruise ship visits - it's how they make their money. I'm very much looking forward to chatting with them again.
  15. Liberty of the Seas is currently docked at Labadee. This is the first sailing since the Jul 27 level 4 advisory was issued. So, RC is still sailing there.
  16. The ships scheduled at Labadee after July 27th are: July 31: Liberty - I just logged into the app for this sailing, and it shows all is normal - arriving July 31 in Labadee. Aug 1: Mariner Aug 10: Oasis Aug 14: Mariner Aug 28: Mariner I guess we will see this week what affect, if any, this advisory has
  17. The current issues are in Port-au-Prince as the gangs there clash with police. As mentioned in this thread, PaP is a long (and difficult) journey away from Labadee. The type of unrest is all gang related this time, and Cap doesn't have the same issue. Royal will monitor any unrest and take appropriate action, but I would be shocked if any of the current situation affected the northern half of Haiti, let alone the remote area that is Labadee.
  18. My mistake. I thought it was built for Carnival. I am indeed asking about T5. We depart from, and return to T5. I think the pay at exit has changed in the past few months.
  19. Specific questions about Royal (in this case - Mariner of the Seas) sailing out of Terminal 5 at Canaveral. This terminal is often for Carnival, so anyone who has sailed out of T5 on Royal please chime in. Parking lot questions. We have the earliest arrival time booked(10:30am), so we're trying to plan what time we show up at the parking lot. I'm thinking we arrive at 9am, drop off luggage, park and get into the terminal 1. I read a post from January this year that you USED to pay on the way out of the terminal and it was a long delay as each car lined up to pay. I think I read that this has changed to a "pay when you enter" system. Does this mean you pay the full price when you get there, or you get a ticket and pay at a kiosk after the cruise before you get to your car? Any recent cruisers out of T5 please chime in. 2. What time does the parking garage open for access? 3. What time do the doors to the checkin (terminal) open? 4. Is the luggage drop off inside the garage, or outside? Thanks in advance!
  20. I check my sailings a LOT for this difference, and I'll make a few observations based on 2 people sailing together. 1. For Internet package - ALWAYS look at the 1 person 2 device pricing - it's much less expensive than two single device plans. 2. For internet packages - I have found a lot of price fluctuations over time - probably more so that most other things you can purchase. Always look for sales. I've almost always ended up paying $17 per device per day 1 person, 2 device plan For me, I would buy Key if it was around $3-5 pppd more than internet alone, but I've never seen it that close.
  21. What do the signs on the containers look like? Are they easily changeable? What's behind my question is that they might need 2 containers to keep up with demand, but if they only have one marked "milk", they they simply reused the 2nd container. However, I agree with you... there at least should be a small sign, even near the spigot saying "this container is milk". I'm not convinced though that this is done with intent. For sure a mistake, but I do not believe this was an active sin of deception - rather an oversight
  22. I remember reading something about the payment options recently changed at Port Canaveral parking garages that make the flow of cars out (after the cruise) much easier. What are the current payment options? Do we grab a ticket on the way in, and then pay at a kiosk before retrieving our car? Or do we pay at a booth on the way in? Or is there a payment gate on the way in? Thanks in advance!
