Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. This game was new to me too. A Google search tells me it is a dice game and sounds like fun. It can be played with regular dice or with special game-specific dice. You use three dice and typically three chips per player although the number of chips is frequently altered. Our extended family has a beach house rented for the summer and we will be testing the game for sure.
  2. Buffalo Trace was also available at most bars around the Sunshine and for my tastes, BT makes a better old fashioned than Woodford and the EH Taylor mentioned earlier.
  3. Heads up bourbon fans.... last November the casino bar on the Sunshine had EH Taylor. it's good stuff.
  4. My next cruise is not until November, but I would be likely be interested in organizing a bar crawl if I knew more about the details on how to pull something like this off successfully. Thoughts from folks who have done this would be appreciated.
  5. Saw a quote in the news from the Army Corp of Engineers saying the channel will be cleared in weeks, not months. Certainly not a guarantee, but I would expect sailings out of Baltimore before June.
  6. Last November, my wife called the first night and requested coffee for every morning on our cruise. This worked just fine for us.
  7. My favorite drink on a Carnival ship is Red's Rum Treasure at the Red Frog Rum Bar. The bartenders always seem to make me a really tasty drink when I order that. It's the drink I'll carry off onto HMC. Rum Treasure is not usually my first drink on a cruise these days. It seems like I need to get a Funship next time since I've never had one. Lately it's either a spiced coffee or some rum something. At the Alchemy Bar, I favor the Sidecar.
  8. I can only verify the self-serve laundry on deck 2, but it was there last November.
  9. You do need to call in for morning coffee delivered to your cabin. But on our Sunshine cruise last November, my wife called in on the first night and scheduled a morning coffee delivery for every morning for the five night cruise. Did not get a coffee delivery on debarkation morning, but one call set us for every other morning on our cruise.
  10. Quest was listed in the Fun Times on Carnival Sunshine a couple weeks ago although I did not go. James Love was the CD.
  11. I also did this same exact thing yesterday. But we did have a temporary problem doing it. Day before yesterday, we were able to add Cheers to our cart, apply the AARP gift, see the balance reduced but then we were unable to use a credit card to pay the balance. Just wouldn't accept the CC. It is my belief this was just one of those buggy Carnival website issues. Then yesterday we received an email saying we had an outstanding item in our cart. Went back to the website and were able to complete the entire transaction. All this to say that you can pay for Cheers using an AARP for partial payment and a CC for the balance, but it's possible you might have to try it more than once.
  12. I can single digit dance if I count in weeks....
  13. Don't think I've seen this one mentioned previously, so I'd like to put in a good word for Red's Rum Treasure at the Red Frog Rum Bar. It was my first drink on a Carnival ship, so there's that sentimental attachment but I find them quite tasty, so I keep getting them. Those Alchemy Sidecars go down really easy too.
  14. i agree. Have always found more food that I wanted to try than time to actually try it all. Maybe next cruise I can get something from the Blue Iguna... still haven't tried breakfast or lunch there.
