Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. It’s not worth the $39. Yes, I know full well what steak costs. My local Kroger often sells chewy rib eye steaks for $7 a lb during sales. The rib-eye I ate last week was just as tough/rubbery as the worst steaks I bought. The sides with certainly aren’t worth or cost the cruise line $40. I had a $30 ribeye a few months ago at Texas Roadhouse that was much better. The steakhouse at a casino I visit wants $50 for a 12oz prime rib but the quality of all their beef is prime, not select/choice that CG uses.
  2. I saw nothing like that last week. Most of the buffet food was pretty poor. Highlights- always found cookies there, occasionally they put out onion rings which if fresh were pretty good and the large fried shrimp on the last night.
  3. No, I had obstructed window room on emerald deck and ac wasn’t perfect . Usually was ok but there were times at time room got warm and stuffy . I didn’t mention this in my review as I didn’t spend much time in the room , plus I have experienced it so often on other cruise ships of different brands that I shrug it off as typical.
  4. Keep in mind that some people on vacation don’t want to spend all their time and energy fighting and fighting…
  5. For the time I cruised ( 5/27), the CP was cheapest, even cheaper than MSC ( $1200 total for two with $150 obc). With that in mine, I was satisfied with the cruise . Had I paid double that , uh, no, I wouldn’t be happy.
  6. I liked how there was no entertainment in the theater or club fusion last three nights of the ship- the best entertainment will come from watching tv in your cabin. The steaks in the CG and the prime rib on last night were exceptionally tough; this is a good way to exercise your jaw muscles . The presence of roaches shows that princess cares about all forms of life and their crawling about is an example of Princess’s commitment to life. Hey, if you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get a room where you have lots of roaches to keep you company! You can take selfies with them or even post pics of them on face book while you boast that you got a wonderful room on a cruise ship and didn’t have to pay extra for all the roaches! Boy, I bet your friends will be jealous!
  7. I was told that they were originally closed for covid- both take up space in the buffet area and by closing them, it allowed more room for better social distancing . Why haven’t they reopen? Who knows?
  8. I was one that posted roach pics. Crown Grill and Sabatinis open and both were full by first night for week. We did stop by a 5:00 on day four to see if anyone cancelled, waited for 30 min and did get in . The steaks were exceptionally tough. I don’t think they’ll reopen planks or steamers. pizza was great, best thing we ate in mdr was chic Parmesan .
  9. I doubt any cruise line uses any pest service, they most likely do it in house, either by ship employees or roving team that visits each ship.
  10. Roaches were seen on three different floors. Before getting off ship, a passenger told me they were in his room and he complained to guest services . He said he and others also had plumbing issues in his room ( located on 10th floor, two above Emerald ( deck 8). He said there was another higher deck that had them ( I forgot the deck). The ship felt like it was lacking employees and if there aren’t enough employees to serve passengers, it’s logical to assume there are less employees to clean and run pest control.
  11. The color of of the critter and long antennae indicate that it is a roach
  12. I have been on 44 cruises since 1998, this was first time I saw a roach. I don’t think all ships have roaches, if you see one roach, there’s likely hundreds more you don’t see. You can brush off the significance of cockroaches all you want but they can be eliminated and kept that way with pest control and cleanliness. Cockroaches are not acceptable ,ask any health inspector and they’ll agree. ***** roaches were present on at least three different floors, the ship is infested. If you have no problem with cockroaches, great, book a cruise on the Caribbean Princess. However, there are some people who expect a clean ship, free of cockroaches crawling around in their rooms and for those people, I suggest a different ship.
  13. I have been on 44 cruises since 1998, this was first time I saw a roach. I don’t think all ships have roaches, if you see one roach, there’s likely hundreds more you don’t see. Ships do get inspected and most pass without having cockroaches.
  14. The hair was on burger from salty dog at pool. Roach was on door in hallway
