  1. Then you'll be fine! I see now that Escape isn't listed in the article, but I think that is an error of the author. I can't imagine it not having shipwide coverage!
  2. What ship will you be on? The list that offers vessel-wide WiFi seems to be most of the fleet. In my experience it can be a bit iffy in the room, depending on location on ship, but corridors and public spaces are usually good/acceptable.
  3. I haven't seen that promo here in EU, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was maninly marketing "fluff". Guessing all passengers pay taxes and fees for example. When you say they all pat same price, have you compared the price per passenger on a 4 person booking and a 2 person booking? That would be the way to actually tell how "free" 3rd and 4th are.
  4. I hear you. I'm not particularly fond of Star, but she has great (for me) Itineraries. So I do the best of it. Focus on the things I like and somehow end up having a great time.
  5. Yeah... I don't gamble and I don't like smoke. So far I haven't had any problem avoiding smoke on different ships, and on my upcoming Escape cruise I'm pretty confident I can avoid going through the casino if there is too much smoke. There is a forward elevator to use for the theather/O'Sheehan's and an aft one to use for Manhattan room. (Even if I don't gamble myself I don't mind the casino taking up space. I kind of like walking through it unless there's a lot of smoke.)
  6. I agree that Cadiz is very good for just strolling around. But when I was there we could just walk off. No transfer needed. Maybe there are different docking locations used. Either way, a very nice city!
  7. I was on Dawn in March. South Africa. Internet was horrible! Plenty of cokkies though. 😄
  8. Yeah. That's why I quoted the particular section about prebooking and adressed that part and that part only.
  9. I book my excursions online and my latitude gets applied when paying. The price i see when just looking at the excursion description is the price after my $50 is deducted. When paying 10% is then deducted on that posted price. Works well for me.
  10. My thoughts as well! 😄
  11. I'm guessing they want to encourage people to try different restaurants. Widen their horizons.
  12. Maybe they'll add an overnight in Le Havre to give people a better chance of going to Paris.
  13. Most (all?) ships have a room where you can leave your luggage. On my recent Bliss cruise it was Q Smokehouse, on other ships it has been the Bliss lounge. I have seen others mentioning the casino. When I have used this service it has been manned and it's like leaving your coat in a manned wardrobe where you get a numbered ticket.
  14. I had only started watching it very recently. We don't have the same price drop guarantee/free cancellation you guys have so I try to wait for a good price. I thought it was a good price now. I hope you find a nice cruise or other vacation, Iberia or elsewhere!
  15. You can take it onboard yourself. That¨s what I do.
  16. You have to ask that once onboard since they don't do things exactly the same on all ships. How stricyt they are can vary as well. If you can't use your priority status for someone else, there is always the option of standing in line for tender tickets. Only one person needs to go there and pick up the tickets. All this, as has been mentioned, only necessary if your excursion isn't an NCL one.
  17. I was planning to. But I'll probably do a short landbased trip to Lisbon in February instead to get a break from Swedish winter. I was there in February this year and it was wonderful! My arthritic joints thanked me. 😄
  18. Thanks for the update! (Surely it's March, not May?) I suspected it had something to do with the drydock. Fingers crossed for a good alternative! (I do use that site you mentioned to check for price drops.)
  19. Agree! Unless the gangway was already pulled when the relative was notified, why on earth didn't they try to help more? Or did they? Didn't they miss the couple when all aboard came? That part is very unclear. I have lots of sympathy for the elderly couple and it's good to see that things seem to have worked out relatively well in the end.
  20. This story is a great reminder to - Don't leave without your medication or other necessary aids. - Make sure that the ways to contact you and/or your emergency contact that you give during checkin are ones that actually work! (I know that I myself have been guilty of giving out my regular cell phone number, but then had my phone in flight mode in international locations. I do however also, if possible, give my email that I can access as long as I have internet connection. Hopefully I'd be smart enough to put my phone off flight mode in a situation like this and eat the roaming charges. But I can't swear I would be that together if really stressed out.)
  21. At least this is a little bit less of a sob story that the recent Dawn/Africa one.
  22. Not that I noticed a couple of weeks ago. But maybe they do Icons now? I think they were in rehearsals when I travelled.
