  1. I don't want to exaggerate any risk, but it's generally recommended to NEVER drink/use hot tap water! Especially for a baby. Not at home, not at the ship!
  2. It's a ship, not New York. Limited area, limited number of venues. If there's a bunch of you on a pub crawl I suspect you're not that hard to spot... ๐Ÿ˜„
  3. Ah, I see. I wondered becasue that other person had solo cabin. But I didn't check any details.
  4. My thoughts as well! I try to keep a couple on my account most of the time and for me that means buying 2-4 at a time. This means they won't be on my account for long, but will be replaced by new ones soon.
  5. You have choosen a family inside. Why not a solo inside?
  6. I wasn't the one posting before, but on the three overnights I've done (Norway, Ireland, USA) gangway has been open all night and it has been possible to go on/off as you wish.
  7. Agree! I cruise for the itineraries and unfortunately Star has the best ones as far as I'm concerned. But I do think to myself " such a shame it's Star" when looking at cruises. But, as I said before, it's not so bad that I won't sail on her! When I look for cruises NCL is the one that offers the best value for money for me as a cold weather loving solo traveller. No competition! (I chuckled a bit reading the original post. The Internet manager on my sailing was by far the least service-minded and grumpiest staff member I've met on a cruise. That and the tender ticket chaos told me what ship it was apart from the itinerary.)
  8. I'm also curous about which ship this was. Star? Some (but not all) of the complaints remind me of things I saw/experienced on Star. Not all ships are the same. I sailed Spirit, Star and Gem during 2023. Of them Star was my least favourite. Still OK for me, but I'm glad my transatlantic was on Gem. I will sail Star again because she is on some seriously good itineraries. I will come prepared and not with too high expecations. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised. (And having travelled on her before I know what to look for food-wise)
  9. It's no different than ncl allowing some pages without using (being "logged in to internet) the minutes.
  10. Yeah... and a non-working link for me at least,,,
  11. That makes sense! I was actually quite surprised at March thinking it an odd time for Scandinavia. May is fantastic! Spring has started by then and often weather is very good that time of year (I live a couple of hours drive from Oslo).
  12. I have never set foot in Haven. But for the money those people are paying they can have a can or two. ๐Ÿ˜„ Note that the can I have been given I haven't asked for. The bartender just thought it was easier giving it to me since I didn't mind.
  13. You are right. I mentioned that. But in no way did I mean for that to be of any signifivcance. The marked section is what I wanted to draw attention to. The fact that there is stronger wording around existing cruises.
  14. That is a really good point! And the snowy landscape IS gorgeous! You'll be fine either way!
  15. Both will have their own merits, but I would probably choose August unless you really wish for snow.
  16. Cans are not included in the basic drinks package. They can be purchased though. However, on my two latest cruises, Star and Gem, Diet Coke/Coke Zero wasn't availble in fountain, so they poured it out of cans. A couple of times they just handed over the unopened can, asking me if I was fine with that.
  17. Iยจm not sure, but I don't think so. There has been the phrase "new reservation", but I think this is "extra" But, as I said, time will tell if it's an actual change in practice.
  18. I'm pretty sure charging my earphones is perfectly safe as far as cybersecurity goes. Edit: If you want to read about USB security https://www.fcc.gov/juice-jacking-tips-to-avoid-it
  19. I agree that this might be important. Only time will tell if it is a difference in practice or just in wording.
  20. The main thing is that it is now completely official about no expiration.
  21. I'm on EU site so I won't post a link. But it seems like the name has changed from CN Deposits to CN Credits and there are new wordings for certificates bought after January 11. It now says no expiration but they have also sharpened the wording about existing bookings. Enclose screenshot of that part (Side note: double up on all cabins is back)
  22. At least we (Europe) get the price including taxes and port fees right away, during the search. Always something! ๐Ÿ˜„
  23. Even though it seems like some never lost it, it has been gone at least since before the summer for me in Europe. When clicking on the "other options" (or whatever it says) while doing a mock or real booking and a room has been asigned it has come back with "no other options". And I have seen others say the same thing, so it has not just been me. To my great joy it is now once again possible to see availability and choose your cabin!
  24. I'm not sure they would allow you to drag a large suitcase onboard since they won't be able to scan it in the security you go through. If you get there and the tag is already gone, just get a new one from the handlers. If you fold it and staple with a couple of staples or fasten it in another good way it won't get lost between you handing it over untilit's put in the luggage cage.
  25. LOL! About 20 minutes ago I booked a studio. Yes, it was cheaper right now, but i suspect insides or even ocean views will come down before the cruise. But I like having the studio lounge only steps away and I don't need much space for my stuff. I look forward to waking up early in the morning, get a good coffee and sip it while sitting and reading in the lounge before going outside, possibly with another cup of coffee. ๐Ÿ˜
