  1. Well the lady I am talking about ordered an entrecot which was quite thick...once the plate arrived she put her fork right in the middle, raised the entrecot almost to her mouth and started looking at it for quite some time with a perplexed look...my guess she wanted to eat it that way but then she figured out it wasn't the proper way...problem being she put the fork so deep inside it got stuck... she started to shake the fork like a lace hoping the fork would get somehow unstuck, she then passed the whole thing to her husband who also tried it the same way with no luck. Eventually she left it on the table with the fork stuck inside and ordered a difference dish claiming the thing was too overcooked or something. It was so funny and cute at the same time... By the way I am the only one that switches the fork from left to right after I cut a piece? Most people I know do it actually...continental Europe. I am sure I am breaking a zillion formal rules 🙂
  2. I was twice at the table with a couple in their 40es that really had troubles holding the silverware...they look so awkward when trying to slice and eat food...my guess they would normally eat burgers and chicken wings and the likes of them. Very nice and friendly people btw, just knife and fork were not their cup of tea. As for me I am the one that always manage to hit and knock out the bottle of wine....so anyone goofier than me is very welcomed at my table 🙂
  3. Only extra fat was well placed inside his head I think...funny thing we reported it immediately and the person in charge decided not to do anything about it 🙂
  4. Well there was one very weird person wearing sneakers inside the sauna...which is quite disgusting health wise...
  5. Fellow passengers actually 🙂 1 European and 1 American actually so no discrimination there....
  6. Indeed, to the point where a couple of times we wanted to ear in the suite but we felt so sorry for the guys we ended up going to the restaurant. I asked and one guy said the issue was due to the plates being too big they wouldn't fit in a cart....Just use smaller plates for in suite service...I don't need to have 80% of my plate being empty space just because it looks very "gourmet" that way...Some choices are so weird sometimes...
  7. Glad Seabourn figured out it is the 21st century and things have really moved on and people 50 or less don't want to dress like their grandparents. Yeah back in the days things were always better...but I guess I am not in the nostalgic season of my life yet....Clean dark jeans especially those wonderful Japanese denim are great as they are very versatile and go with almost any decent shirt and blazer and make people look smart and modern. I agree that smart casual is really what people wear in their prime of their career these days even in the office or at fancy occasions. True it is harder to dress smart casual than with a suit and it seems from my previous cruises that many non European do struggle with it. Not sure why my American friends love loose unfitted clothes and weird combos that much but unless someone is showing up in shorts and sandals at night I really have no issue with what they wear. On the Venture in Atlantica a couple of people were wearing Hawaiian shirts in the restaurant at night and it gave the place a relaxing fun atmosphere. And poorly dressed people are always great as a conversation starter 🙂
  8. That's a welcome change but they could improve it even more by allowing people to order via the app....every time I called the line was busy and once someone picked up the phone there was so much noise from the kitchen that I could hardly hear anything. Another welcome change would be to have some desserts in the Japanese restaurant, there was no dessert option on the Venture when we sailed last December. Not sure why they can't add 2/3 Japanese desserts. And not sure why they poor guys need to hold everything on their shoulders----the wheel was invented a long time ago...
  9. Thanks, I'll surely do it myself then. I booked a helicopter flight which is pretty expensive but my OBC cover it so that would be a nice way to reduce my total costs...
  10. Thanks, I take it that on the wet landing days you just walked around in boots like we did in Antartica or rather change to hiking shoes once on land and put back the boots on the way back to the zodiacs? Is the submarine worth in Greenland? In atlantica it was a waste of time and money.
  11. I am also in the same situation but I feel a bit embarrassed about asking for a refund so that I can use my OBC but if people say it is possible I am gonna give it a try. IF not I guess I can always use it on the on board shop
  12. Submarine in Antartica was really a waste of money. Nobody saw anything and people were pretty dissatisfied, so don't make that mistake. I am sure in the pacific or the med it is way more interesting.
  13. Hi, thanks for your feedback. I am also booked for Greenland in August and I was wondering whether there are wet landings like in antartica where you needed boots and waterproof pants. And whether people wear waterproof pants on the zodiac in general or they just wear normal trekking pants, I recall in Antartica we got real wet on those zodiac. Did you do the 5 hours trekking? Was is hard or anyone can do it? Thanks in advance
