  1. @39august Yes, Eden is your best bet for a quiet spot. And we are just about to head that way for lunch! A good day to all. It's Chic night tonight! And we are doing some afternoon activities. It's going to be hard to tear ourselves away from the balcony. The sound of the sea is so relaxing and the temperature/humidity today is perfection.
  2. Thank you @miched I was just reviewing this thread and had forgotten about the cookies at Eden Cafe!! We are going there for lunch today and will look for them đŸĒđŸĒ There is SO MUCH choice on the e-class ships...sometimes it's almost overwhelming but my goodness, it's keeps things interesting! We're thinking about a future cruise on Apex (which I don't believe has the creaking and banging problem) and it's because of 1. the quality entertainment 2. variety of dining 3. crew/service.
  3. Good morning! It's a sea day and we are basking on the balcony because we really haven't had time to do that much. This was our wake up view - we watched the clouds roll by for a while then went to Luminae for breakfast. I had the peach french toast and was a little disappointed that the peaches were not fresh (seemed like canned peaches to me). We've planned out the rest of our meals and I don't think we will be back at Luminae. Service has been very good but other than the cherry yogurt parfait, I can't think of anything that really wowed us. We went to Caleb Crawford's Beyond the Podium presentation on deadly sea creatures and enjoyed it while having our Al Bacio hit for the day ☕☕ I met him on the beach on St Kitts yesterday - he was excited to have seen octopi/octopuses (his favorite animal!) I called Sheldon, our room attendant this morning and told him to take the day off for our stateroom. We have had everything we needed and he has been excellent. The only thing we requested from him was firmer pillows on day 2 and he brought them right away. On future cruises, I've decided to do this more often...it decreases their workload and we don't have to worry about being out of the stateroom. Departure/Disembarkation instructions were on the bed with the daily schedule last night. It was a little depressing....the clock is ticking away fast now
  4. There is a wide variety of music - varies with each cruise. We have enjoyed all the music on our cruise! We enjoyed everything we had at Cyprus! Yes, pyramid tea bags at Al Bacio. We have not done the Steakhouse or any of the other specialty restaurants.
  5. It is very random - there are several threads here on CC discussing locations/stateroom numbers. We are midship on deck 9. Last night was another quiet night for us but we had 3 or 4 nights where it was quite noisy. Come prepared with "sleep aids" if you are not a heavy sleeper. We will wave to you on Monday! Have a great cruise!
  6. Good evening (a late one for us "early birds" đŸĻđŸĻ I promise to answer the questions posted ASAP but sleep is calling 💤 We took a 6 hour tour of St Kitts with Mr. Thenford Grey of Grey's Island Tours today that was absolutely amazing. First, St Kitts is gorgeous. We've been to 4 Hawaiian Islands and I believe St Kitts is just as beautiful. Second, Mr Grey is a true gentleman, a native of St Kitts who loves his country and is extremely knowledgeable. Highly, highly recommend this tour. We became fast friends with a couple from Atlanta this morning at breakfast and invited them to join us at Cosmopolitan for dinner. We had a wonderful evening together! Rebel performed again and it was even better than their first show! Big news........Retreat Soiree at 5:30pm....we met and got a photo with Captain Kate! đŸšĸ
  7. Current situation - waiting for sunrise from bed after a SOLID 7 HOURS of sleep with no creaking or banging noises!! Chocolate truffle "appetizer" 😋 Luminae for breakfast at 7:30am then we really and truly are doing an excursion tour of St Kitts!
  8. We couldn't even walk a straight line over to the Martini Bar! đŸ¤Ŗ Hope you're having a great cruise @Mariastreby Time slipped up on us on embarkation day and we didn't make it to the meet and greet. Maybe we'll run into you before Monday. The days are flying by so fast now ☚ī¸
  9. Well, I'm amending this. We are enjoying everything about Beyond so much (except for the noise) so we might sail Apex. I think I read that it will switch to Port Canaveral in 2025 or 2026? Would be a closer drive for us. We have absolutely NO CREAKING tonight! We're going much slower on our way to St. Kitts so I think that's one reason. Fingers crossed for a quiet night.
  10. Dinner at Cosmopolitan again with Wiwid. The maitre'd sighed and said "everyone wants Wiwid!" He sort of sings the menu to you! Brought us an extra appetizer that he wanted us to try plus an extra vegetarian main (I think since I had mentioned last night about trying to get enough veggies in. How do they remember all this?!) We went by guest relations after dinner to pick up envelopes for "bonus" gratuities. Isn't this Strawberry Cake so pretty? Show tonight was piano man Chris Lash - soooooo glad we went! We considered skipping it but he was very entertaining - lots of favorite tunes! Last photo is cruise director Alexa - we are enjoying her - great energy. Not sure, but I think she's going to be on Beyond for a while (just started with our cruise I believe)
  11. Well.....excursion snafu. We were planning to do a food tour with eatnlime food tours. We didn't book it ahead of time, assuming that we would find them in the cruise terminal but did not. Sent them an email and found out they only work on prior booking. SO GLAD though! We are having the most relaxing, fun day on the ship and it's been raining off and on anyway. Our vacation motto - never be too rigid with plans. DH did golf chipping on the resort deck and we are just enjoying the vibe there. I may have done some chair dancing during the reggae set 🌴
  12. On Beyond now. Almost everywhere is too hot for us. Other than creaking and banging in our sky suite, it's pretty much our only complaint. HOT today in Antigua, even hotter yesterday in Barbados. I want to be cool while eating dinner after being outside most of the day.
  13. Welcome to Antigua! We had a quick bite of breakfast at Eden Cafe after picking up Al Bacio coffee. Back to our stateroom just in time to catch this view of the pilot boat pulling away. Look at what Butler Thad left us last night!!!! We were chatting with him yesterday about chocolate and he asked if we would like some truffles 😲 Yes please! We just had one for breakfast dessert - yum! We're going ashore today - stay tuned! We're actually going to do an excursion!
  14. @Georgia_Peaches They are the big pumps. In sky suite they are on a tray in the shower. Happy upcoming anniversary! 40 years for us in December â™Ĩī¸
  15. Good morning! We're sailing our way to Antigua, arriving at 10am. We had another great dinner at Cosmopolitan last night. DH had Branzino that was delicious plus it just looked so much nicer than the Red Snapper I had in Luminae on day 2. Our waiter Wiwid was entertaining yet efficient plus spoiled us by bringing a 3rd main dish that he wanted us to try! We will probably stick with Cosmo and Wiwid for the rest of the cruise. The production show Elements was beautiful! After dinner dessert martinis were delightful! I need coffee - I'm having a hard time typing this so off we go to Al Bacio!
  16. @Stem to Stern I got them on Amazon but you might find them elsewhere - sea-band.com acupressure wrist bands. We used them on our small ship Alaska cruise and they worked for us.
  17. Welcome to Barbados! It's gettin' hot in here! About a 20-30 minute walk to Agapey chocolate factory - worth it just for the smell but we thought the price reasonable $6.50 USD. Highly recommend and we haven't even tasted it yet! The walk was much nicer than we expected - along the water. Returned to the Retreat sundeck for drinks and lunch (chicken sandwich and turkey wrap very good!) MUDSLIDE for dessert 😋😋 The scale is going to scream at me when we get home. 23.5 arc solar halo all morning! Everyone was looking up. I tweeted to our local meteorologist to find out what it was called.
  18. We didn't pack enough and checked in St Maarten - they were selling 2 tablets for $3.00 so I decided to pass and hope snap, crackle and pop leave us. I really don't like taking it because it gives me a hangover in the morning. Last night I put my Seabands on and it might be psychological but I think they help with sleep as well as with seasickness (which we have had none! yay!) DH did earplugs but I just can't stand them. You are correct - should not be a concern. We are having an amazing cruise but it would feel so much more carefree if we didn't have to deal with the noises.
  19. Hello friend! We're planning to attend their festival Mother's Day weekend in Denton. Last saw them in October and smiled our faces off! They are the definition of happiness and amazing music!
  20. Good morning from Barbabos! No view photo today because, well, it's a terrible one of cargo containers and warehouses ☚ī¸ The good news, last night was INCREDIBLE and WE SLEPT WELL (still with snap, crackle and pop though) We had dinner at Cosmopolitan with this incredible view. DH had the Oxtail and it beat the Cyprus Short Ribs! I had spaghetti that was very good along with Yellow Corn Soup that was delicious and a FUN presentation (no "spoiler" photo!) Carrot Cake for DH 😋 and I had Sacher Torte that is the best chocolate dessert I've had on the ship 😋 Our waiter WiWid was wonderific!! We are going back to Cosmopolitan tonight and requesting him again! Off to the theater for the show REBEL. We.were.blown.away by these VEGAS entertainers! We never expected this quality of entertainment on a cruise ship. Not to be missed. After the show, dessert martinis - Toffee Apple and Coconut Cream-tini 😋😋
  21. On Beyond this week in a sky suite and experiencing the creaking in the ceiling AND what we can best describe as a jumping bowling ball under the bed. The first time it happened, we seriously thought something was under the bed. We slept pretty well last night but with OTC sleep med and 2 white noise machines. You must be reading my mind @SI Cruiser because I've been rehearsing how to ask Capt Kate about it in a way that she will have to give a straight answer. I think she does a Q&A at the end of the cruise? I also hear that she personally greets everyone on disembarkation? I had hoped for a Retreat "meet the captain" event but have not received an invitation of that sort. We are having a blast but we will not sail Beyond again and likely not an e-class ship again. We have a LIVE thread going....that I need to update soon because last night was phenomenal!!!
  22. it was pretty good - nothing to write home about but good enough! They also have focaccia that looked good but we didn't try it. The beyond signature is a rum, coconut, fruity concoction. If you have the app, there is a menu for each bar and they each have signature cocktails. I'm not really a cocktail drinker but having fun trying them. If you have a favorite "standard" drink, they will make it for you at any bar.
  23. What is it about vacation that makes you want to eat and drink all the time?!?! The plan was to skip lunch and just hang out on the Retreat sundeck until afternoon tea started in the lounge at 3:30pm. It wasn't even noon and we were hungry! We headed over to the Sunset Bar (first time there) - I got the Beyond Signature and DH got a Strongbow (on tap! They also had Newcastle on tap). Took our drinks to OVC for pizza and a sampling of desserts. Highly recommend the Beyond Sig. We went back for 2 more and are enjoying them on the balcony.
  24. This is an excellent explanation of e-class dining. We are on Beyond this week and this is our experience but my goodness, we certainly had unnecessary questions and concerns about it all. Celebrity definitely needs to improve communication. We are in Retreat and enjoy Luminae but are trying the MDRs too. Cyprus last night was wonderful - we made it "Greek night" and had the Cyprus exclusives.
